[Ezra Thorne]

A key? Ezra didn’t recall Dash ever talking to him about this. He flashed his man a searing glare, though no words were shared. Dash would know Ezra wasn’t too pleased with him then. The Thorne was an incredibly private person by nature, and the thought of anyone showing up inside his home unannounced mortified him. Dash, of course, slinked away right after that which told Ezra he knew he was wrong.

Food was certainly one way to distract things and Dash bringing out snacks worked wonders even on Ezra. The Thorne was worthless with cooking and always grew up with a private chef. Dash insisted on not having one, but Ezra secretly waited to see how long that would last.

He reached for a snack and thoughtfully nibbled on it while Dash questioned Leon, “I bet he came here to rope us into a new ‘adventure’,” Ezra said with a grin as he looked at his best friend, “Have you recruited Ferrin yet?”

[Leon Baudelaire]

As the words fell from Leon’s mouth he realized that Dash had in fact not spoken to Ezra about getting him a key. The look the two lovers shared was cold as Hoth. Leon’s eyes were saucer wide as he pretended not to see the unspoken fight brewing. It was like stepping out into a sunny day only to turn around and see a tornado forming.

Exhilarating, captivating, and scary as fuck.

Dash left the room shortly after and Leon had to hold his fucking breath to stop from snickering at dense blanket of awkward that had covered the room. This of course was a million times harder than it would be normally, because Ezra had super hearing and any irregularity in Leon’s breathing would be picked up immediately.

Dash returned after what felt like an eternity and Leon literally let out a breath of relief. Hiding his face behind his hand. The spread laid out looked amazing, “Oh man, this is great, thanks!”

Leon hopped up and washed his hands in the kitchen sink before reaching over and snagging a snack. Baudelaire’s smile soured when Dash brought up the Cult. Ezra’s quip elicited a shake of the Adumarian’s head.

To Dash he said, “Yes. I’m really close to finding their base of ops.”

To Ezra he said, “Bruh, I’m here to chill,” he laughed. “Do YOU need an adventure? It’s okay, you can tell us.”

To Ezra’s follow up, Leon said, “I haven’t had the chance.”

Baudelaire wasn’t intentionally avoiding the Pantoran, but he’d been thrust into training, teaching, Starlight, and hunting a Cult. What minuscule free time Leon had went to his second job so he could take Jayna out.

The Adumarian was tired.

“You guys are welcome to come, but I’m not sure this is like… a “squad level” threat,” he said, taking a bite of his snack.

[Ezra Thorne]

Ezra looked grumpy the entire time. In truth, he did miss having adventures. He focused entirely on school and EZTech, which left little time for galavanting around on missions like he used to do. He thought he would enjoy the break from going to random swamps and deserts, but he was actually missing it. Not that he was about to admit any of that…

“Yeah well I’m too busy anyway,” He said with a shrug, “I’m going to be releasing a line of speeders soon. Already have a prototype done,” Ezra said proudly. It was half true - he wasn’t too busy for an adventure, he was simply annoyed the other two always made these plans now without him. He had no idea about any cult and he certainly wasn’t involved in Starlight. It was one of those moody things he would stew on internally because his ego prevented him from ever bringing it up.

“What is squad level now, anyway?” He asked, quirking a brow. They had all become Knights, he was as powerful as a Master, Dash was Master level with ice. There were few things in the galaxy they couldn’t take on - or so he thought.

Leon frowned. Was Ezra actually bummed? The Adumarian crossed his arms over his chest while a small smile curled his lip. Now that he was thinking about it, they were due an adventure. He knew the Trials of Toland Kar would only increase in difficulty.

“Oh nice, I’d love to see it sometime, dude,” he replied to Ezra.

The Thorne’s next question was a good one. Honestly, Leon didn’t know. He always saw himself as the weak link, he was okay at a lot of things, but hadn’t really found a specialty of his own. That being said, he’d been able to face down the cult alone a number of times. Only recently had he teamed up with an Imperial Knight to quell an attack.

That had sucked.

“I dunno, Killik’s?” he replied with a shrug. Leon snagged another snack and took a bite. Chewing on the thought. He could get some info from Hera for sure, well, if he could find the damn woman. For the life of him, Leon couldn’t figure out why the higher-ups in the Jedi just disappeared. It was super inconvenient.
