Demitri nodded, "I thought as much that the Sith wouldn't order such a thing." The official straightened himself in his seat, "How do you intend to get the information out of him? I don't think he will just blabber out what he knows." He said with a curious tone in his voice. Demetri looked down for a moment, "I agree. The Chancellor's enforcement methods and laws have slackened so much. Severely slackened for it to get this bad and for so long."

Tobian watched Demetri, seeing that the man was ashamed of how the Chancellor seemed to allow this issue to go for so long and get so bad. His question is why did the Chancellor allow it to get so bad and why he passed laws that are redundant? The officer leaned forward a bit, "Why would your Chancellor pass laws that either don't work or make it easy for things to go this far so quickly?" The Kuatian asked, "To me. It sounds like the man at the top has failed to do his job. If simple theft crimes have gotten this bad. I'd hate to find out how bad murder has gotten." He said quietly sitting back in his seat. Tobian then began to wonder why the Chancellor hasn't been replaced after clearly failing to do his job. The man looked to his left as the speeder turned to the right in it's approach where they are going for the meeting and a little bit of rest, "But yes. As my friend said. We should interrogate the prisoner to get information. As well as examine his speeder."

"After the meeting and when you are rested. I will take you to where the prisoner is being held and where the speeder is being kept at." Demetri told the two officers looking out as the speeder rapidly approached their destination. It was the main government building that looked like a palace of sorts. All the important guests are housed there and meetings take place.

When the speeder landed, the two officials got out. Grabbing his duffle bag, Tobian got out as well. Stretching a bit the officer watched Demetri and his assistant as the man talked to another possible government agent of sorts, "If the Chancellor is doing such a horrible job and passing laws that don't work. Why haven't they removed him from office? Surely they have a law where they can vote in a new person to the post." Tobian said as he watched the three men talk amongst themselves. It appeared that Demetri was explaining what had happened back at the landing pad.

Titus frowned. Gross incompetence. It was one of the reasons he left the republic and here it was in the empire. Perhaps they could help with that. Truthfully he had no interest in meeting the incompitent chancellor at the moment, though it was something he wanted to deal with later on.

Titus grabbed his duffle bag as well and got himself out of the speeder. "It sounds as though we may need to make a reccomendation in our report to remove the current chancellor if present results are any indication. I dont wish to solve an investigation only for one mans incompitence to have to call us back to deal with this all over again."

Tobian nodded in agreement as he watched the three men, their hosts, talk among themselves about something, "Yes. Though our superiors will require evidence of incompetence. So we should save the recommendation for our final report. Perhaps we could find out from the civilians which laws do not work then get a copy of the laws as evidence of not just the Chancellor failing his duties, but the laws allowing everything to go as far as they have."

Shouldering his dufflebag, the Kuatian looked to Demetri as the man walked back over to them, "If you two will please follow me. I will take you to your apartment." The official then rather quickly started leading the way into the lavishly decorated palace. The halls were reasonably, but well decorated. It was clear that no expense was spared in the decorations. Tobian looked to the stairway as they were led to some stairs, the man held onto the railing with his right hand as the group went up the stairs.

The official then led them down the corridor to their right. The corridors up on this level was more decorated than the first with staff moving about giving the upstairs a busy hive type of feeling. Demetri stopped at a door, "Sirs. This is your apartment. I will come get you when it is time for the meeting. Please let us know if you need anything. There is food and drinks ready for you." The man then left the two officers.

Tobian watched Demetri leave, "Well.. It feels like the Chancellor is not only incompetent. But also more concerned about his own comfort than anything judging by the decor and staff we have seen so far. Better add what we have seen to the report." The officer stated as he walked into the apartment the two will be sharing. Okay forget apartment. It was a freaking house with a kitchen, two bedrooms, a refreshing room and a living room withba dining table at one side. Tobian looked to Titus, "Someone really wants to make sure his guests are comfortable." The officer stated as he looked around.

"In addition to the distaste shown by his subordinates, yes" Titus added before following the grouop up to the apartment, while he wouldnt decline the lovely accomodations they were certainly over the top and unrequired.

He looked to Tobian after his comment "Or is hoping to buy us over with pleasantries so as to not implicate a failing of his government" He said flatly before placing his duffle on a empty table.

"This is exactly why I left the Republic...." He muttered.

Tobian placed his bag on the couch next to him. The decor and lavish accomodations were a bit too much for this officer. He didn't feel comfortable in this apartment, "Much too lavish and over the top for my taste." He said quietly while looking around at the apartment that will be both of their home for now while they investigate events taking place and the incompetence of the Chancellor along with his government.

He looked to Titus, seeing that like himself, his follow officer will not be swayed or liked their accomodations, "But. He will not know we will be swayed to make him, and his policies look better than what they are. Nor make the events taking place less of a problem what they are. We will keep the report the way we plan to present it." With that Tobian got out his datapad and typed up what he and Titus have observed and learned so far, "Titus..I left the Republic for similar reasons my friend. I don't like this either."

"Glad to know we're on the same page here my friend." Titus said pouring himself a glass of water and then taking a sip. He walked towards the window and looked out towards the horizon, Corruption was everywhere he supposed, hopefully though it was as rare as it seemed.

"So, how long do you think until they let us get started?"

As Tobian plugged in everything into his report, he realized that there was a lot to add in. So he took a seat at the dining table to work instead of standing there. He glanced over to Titus for a second as the other man looked out the window, "I don't know. Guess it depends on how eager the Chancellor is to cover up his incompetence. Which if he does we can still uncover if we choose to do so."

Looking back to his datapad he glanced back to the door as there was a knock followed by a couple of ladies bringing in a couple trays. One was covered in a variety of drinks and a couple of glasses, the other a couple plates of food. Tobian saved what he got done so far and turned off his datapad just as one of the women walked over. Her gaze on his device, "Your lunch gentlemen." She announced then left followed by the other.

Tobian watched them leave, waiting for the door to close before he spoke up, "Is it me? Or did she try reading what is on my datapad?" He asked as the officer turned the device back on to finish up what he is plugging in to his report.

Titus shrugged and moved to teh food after thanking the women, if they were going to feed him he might as well eat.

"I wouldnt be surprised if she were, trying to collect information. I believe theres an old proverb about that, 'the walls have ears'. Service staff tend to learn more than one would think my friend" He sat down and started to eat, if he had to wait, he would atleast try to enjoy himself in the meantime and not think about the mess that was this planet and situation

Tobian shrugged, "Yes I have heard of that proverb." He admitted as the officer finished the part of the report. For added measure he changed the password on the datapad just incase the woman saw him type the old one. Putting the device away he decided that he should try to loosen up a bit, "I had one woman try to get information by trying to get me drunk and to lay with her. I kept on dumping the drinks into the plant next to me. Was rather entertaining.. She got so wasted she admitted to trying to get information out of me but forgot what information it was."

The Kuatian got up, getting himself a glass of water. Sitting back down he started eating his plate of food. It was delicious for sure. The officer was going to take his time eating though since there might be quite a wait for the meeting to start. Tobian chuckled, "My sisters have better methods to get information.. When they are determined to get it. They wait until I fall asleep and tickle my feet.. Every single time they do that it works no matter how hard I try to resist." The officer figured that fun stories will help keep their mind off of the seriousness of their investigation and the mess that the planet was in for a moment or two.

Titus laughed genuinely at Tobians stories, they were definatly entertaining "I'll keep that in mind should I ever need someone to get information out of you" He jested.

"I once posed as a waiter for an evening simply to observe if a government official and gang member were doing a drug deal, they ended up discussing their entire plan to raise crime in the district before the official would suddenly swoop in and remove it while the gang member would be praised for saving memembers of his gang and so forth. Amazing what people say when they think no one is listening"

Tobian looked at Titus with a playful, warning look, "If you do I will know exactly who to get revenge on. Trust me my two little twin sisters are really good." He said with a grin. He sipped his water slowly, "But then again they pull the trick on both of us and not just you."

Tobian laughed, "Oh man that is precious. I would have loved to have been there to see that. It is amazing what someone would say when they think they are not being watched."

The officer shook his head a bit as he laughed, "Reminds me of the time I switched my father's soda with alcohol and he didn't notice.. I was trying to get information on how to sneak into the training fields so me and some friends could play a little war game with water balloons and water pistols. He spilled every single part of the perimeter that is not guarded or is compromised." The Kuatian chuckled, "He thought that I was just good at guessing and didn't realize he told me everything until a few months later."

Titus chuckled. "That is good." He responded with a smile before finishing his food and cleaning up.

"How long do you think they'll keep us waiting?" He wondered aloud. Much as he was enjoying getting to know his partner, part of his mind was still anxious to get to work, frustrated by the situation here.

Tobian finished his food and so cleaned up his part of the dishes and the table, "No idea. Hopefully it is not for much longer." The officer stated as he moved over to the window and looked outside as he sipped from his glass of water, "I want to get this investigation going before the trail goes cold."

The officer looked to the door as someone knocked on it before entering. It was their host's assistant. What was his name again? The Kuatian then remembered, "Zak right? When are we to go to the meeting?" He asked anxiously.

Zak looked between the two officers, "I have just been instructed to take you to the room where the meeting will take place. Please follow me." He stated as he stepped out of the room and waited for the two officers.

Tobian frowned a bit getting a bit of an uneasy feeling. He reached into his bag grabbing his pistol and his lightsaber. He holstered his pistol but his lightsaber was hidden in his prosthetic leg. Retucking the pant sleeve into his boot, "Just in case." He said quietly to his comrade before walking out of the room.

"Agreed my friend" Titus said. As if on cue, there was a knock at the door, Demitri as he recalled, however the man seemed to polite to correct Tobian on his error about his name. Maybe he was too afraid to correct the military.

Titus himself still had his collapsed blade and pistol on his person beneath the coat. He like to be prepared. "Perhaps take it easy my friend, your already losing peoples names" He said with a light pat on his partners shoulder, more concern and a light poke at him than anything else before he left the room to follow Demitri to their next meeting

Tobian looked to Titus made a light jab at him as he patted his shoulder. The officer looked to the assistant and realized he already had forgotten his name, "Oh bugger me. Sorry Demetri." He was a bit surprised that he had forgotten the young man's name. The man doesn't usually forget names.

Demetri chuckled, "Don't worry about it, Sir." The assistant told the officer.

Perhaps he does need to take it easy. The officer walked next to Titus as the assistant led them to the room the meeting will be taking place. The path to the room was simple and not too hard to memorize.

The assistant led the duo into the room, "Alright here we are. It should only be a couple minutes." He told the two officers as he took a seat. As he did the chancellor, two women, and three men walked into the room, "Sorry about the wait Lt. Frey and Lt. Solaris." The man took a seat at the head of the table looking at the two officers, "Are you two enjoying yourselves at least?"

Tobian cleared his throat, "Yes your hospitality has been quite enjoyable. But we are eager to get to work, Chancellor." The Imperial Officer looked the man in the eyes as the Chancellor seemed concerned.

"I assure you that we have everything under control." The Chancellor snapped looking at the two officers, "What happens here shouldn't concern the Empire."

"Actually it does since your civilians are citizens of the Empire." Tobian said firmly, "Because with each crime committed makes your civilians more violent during protests that follow. And with your civilians having farm tools stolen means less food being produced. Less food being produced means civilians on this planets and others who depend on imports are going hungry."
