Hello all!

So, I figured this is a more appropriate place for some of my questions/spit balling since I'm new and still navigating the site lore space/culture.

I'm trying to come up with a background narrative that fits the overall character concept I'm trying to put together for my character submission. Problem is that I'm unsure if certain things are likely to occur and the places said things would occur (I like being able to use specific locations, makes RPing a lot easier). Stuff is naturally subject to change depending on stuff (rules, chances of approval, etc), I'm pretty laid back about making characters (after all, the story is in the RPing, not the background in a vacuum).

So! Definitely aiming to be a Sith (cuz who doesn't like dark colors, red, and lightning from fingers?), problem is that I'm interested in something that may not be entirely conventional. I'm thinking a human that is slightly older, around 30's, that initially grew up on a world that was raided by Sith prior to Unification (unsure if this is a thing in lore or which planet). Kid initially admired the Jedi that occasionally beat back said raids, wanted to be one. Gets rescued by a unnamed Jedi/do-gooder with rest of community, kid opens mouth like idiot to Sith pursuit, is disenchanted when Jedi basically lets themselves get axed to save them despite being clearly powerful enough to save at least SOME of them. Kid has a bone to pick with both the Jedi and Sith seeing both as either blind or villains.

Kid has natural Force abilities (uses force shin-kick), catches attention of Old Empire Sith Lord he mouthed off to. Sith Lord decides he wants to toy with the kid that liked the Jedi. Proceed with typical years of torture and brainwashing. Kid largely is able to endure since Sith Lord doesn't want a brain dead thrall but a useful tool (but still a slave). Kid grows up under conditions typical of apprentices of cruel masters, but minus the intent to let him become more than that, treated more like a experiment to be cancelled at any moment than vested interest. This justifies how he has basic grasp of Force abilities/ martial abilities/ Forms, anger issues, quiet demeanor, lack of glowstick.

Adult now acts as a "loyal bodyguard" for Sith Lord for years, planning a eventual betrayal, playing the dumb brute. Occasionally commits questionable acts for said Sith Lord to maintain ruse and gain further training, falls to Dark Side. Sith Lord thinks he figured out how to create a loyal army of brutish Force sensitive warriors. War of Unification starts. Sith Lord takes adult to front lines (planet?). Sith Lord gets in fight he can't win (lol), is disarmed (pun intended), upset adult is refusing to help. Adult kills badly beaten Sith Lord trying to cower behind him. Pledges loyalty to Unified Empire, still imprisoned, claims glowstick got broke in fight (dirty liar!). Assumes identity of Sith Apprentice (whose to say otherwise?), gets granted title of Acolyte per old tradition of axing master in service to Unified Empire (again uncertain here, fine letting Sith Lord get axed by unnamed). Putters about old masters interests for years (defunct cuz dead and stuff so little benefit, but learns culture, gets transportation), dislikes the summer camp memories, leaves for Korriban when Empire dissolves.

Turns out, dude isn't much of a brute after all beyond appearance, finally drops facade. Prefers subtlety/deception/plottage and at this point knows he is a small fish after years getting smacked around by someone much stronger. Kept his resentment against both the Sith and Jedi together, but smart enough to understand getting ahead will require help. So... he stole membership into the most logical one, and in a believable fashion. Ultimately wanting to "level" the field by getting rid of as many "Order" Force users since he blames both on failing in their mandates of "balance". Thinking a balance would bring a better peace (since he saw the outnumbered Jedi axed, and the Sith stagnation implode).

Basically he's a bit closer to a Bane, but not to the "kill em all" level, just not "can wage wanton war creating lots of "me's" levels (neither should hold territory to rival secular forces). Def a dude that eventually will get axed himself for a scheme, but I like setting up "showdowns" I lose, makes for good stories haha!

Totally unsure if this will fly or not, so just testing before committing to character concept. Thanks for reading! Feedback appreciated.
