IAF SPECIAL OPERATIONS ARMOR

Imperial Armed Forces Special Operations Armor was a part of a highly classified IAF special operations initiative that would undermine the general structure and authority of the IAF. It was a multifaceted design, distinguishing it from Imperial Assault Corps and Imperial Defense Force standard-issue gear. One of the most notable differences was the integrated shield generator that provided additional protection from energy-based attacks. The ensemble was intended to be modular and allow individual operators to customize and modify it as the needs of their missions may dictate.

LEGALITY

The armor is property of the Imperial Military. More specifically, the armor and its capabilities are classified. Distribution and disclosure of information pertaining to this equipment is illegal and enforced by IAF code.

INTENT

This armor is intended to distinguish characters assigned to IAF Special Operations which will be characters that previously served in the Imperial Defense Force, Assault Corps, Intelligence Support Activity, or Navy.

RESTRICTIONS

This armor is restricted and can only be utilized by characters that are selected for IAF Special Operations.

TYPE AND COVERAGE

Type: Heavy

Coverage:

Head: Duraplast helmet covering the skull.

Torso: Duraplast armor covering the chest and upper abdominals.

Back: Duraplast armor covering the majority of the back.

Upper Arms: Duraplast armor covering the shoulder, tricep, and bicep.

Lower Arms: Duraplast armor covering the forearm, elbow, and hand.

Upper Legs: Duraplast armor covering the groin, buttocks, inner thigh and outer thigh.

Lower Legs: Duraplast armor covering the knee, lower leg, foot, and heel.

FUNCTIONS

Function 1: Personal Energy Shield
  • On the back of the armor, there is a housing for a shield generator that reinforces the armor with an energy shield that can counter energy based attacks such as blaster bolts at the cost of not being able to use weapons while the shield is active.

Function 2: Environment Suit
  • While it is not rated for extended exposure to extreme hazards, this body suit (when combined with an enclosed helmet) can protect the wearer's body from the effects of environmental and weaponized toxins and similar hazards for up to 5 posting rounds.

Function 3: Filter
  • Filters are bulky attachments to a helmet, or function as part of a mask, that filter out environmental contaminants such as smoke or most toxins. They are susceptible to caustic substances and damage.

Function 4: Visor
  • Rather than integrating night vision, thermal imaging, or magnification into the HUD of the helmet. The visor was designed in such a way that the wearer could attach devices specifically designed to be mounted to it as they deemed necessary. The drawback was that the devices had to be carried and attached when needed. Electrobinoculars, night vision, and thermal imaging devices were among the attachments issued with the helmet. A tactical spot lamp was integrated into the visor, but it is ineffective when devices are attached.

Function 5: Customization
  • This slot is left open for individual users to have freedom to customize their armor as is befitting of an operator performing in such a capacity. Special care should be taken to not misuse this freedom as an opportunity to gain immediate advantage in PvP or make the character immune or invincible to unforeseen occurrences.

BIOGRAPHY

Tana Jorel hails from the industrial mining world of Bandomeer. Her lineage is one of esteemed service in the Galactic Empire and later the First Order. Several members of her family proudly joined the Empire and served the Emperor after their government was subjugated by Darth Vader. The Jorel pedigree remained loyal to the Galactic Empire throughout its fragmentation, dissolvement, and reformation into the First Order.

After the destruction of the First Order, her family had no place else to serve, but back home on Bandomeer. So they did. She was evidence of that. At the age of eighteen, she joined the Executive Surveillance Branch and served as one of the organization's many spies. The ESB was the government's way of keeping tabs on the mining corporations that were notoriously known for engaging in criminal activity. The miners cared nothing for the planet of Bandomeer or its government, they were only concerned with filling their own pockets. Consequently, they regularly sought to destabilize the natural order of things and aimed to control the planet themselves, free from regulations and taxes imposed on them by the elected offices of Bandomeer. Ergo, Tana the spy was born and she would serve in that capacity—learning the ways of subterfuge, espionage, slicing and other such skills that lended themselves to the work of an ESB agent—for many years to come.

By the time Lord Andruil had risen and claimed the title of Empress, Tana—after almost two decades of service in the ESB—had been promoted to Superintendent of the organization. Her promotion was a result of both her prestige and her parentage. That position, however, would not suit her for long. After Empress Andruil appointed Andros Traivess, a well-known martial strategist from Taris, as the Warmaster and architect of her new Imperial Military...Superintendent Jorel resigned from her position and traveled to Taris with hopes of picking up where her family had left off more than a century earlier.

On Taris, Tana's resume eventually placed her in a position to be one of the co-founders, creators, and influencers of what is now known as the Imperial Armed Forces Intelligence Support Activity—where her talents and experience were best suited and utilized. There she served as a General and continues to do so, where she feverishly aims to further the Empire and honor her heritage.

BIOGRAPHY

IMG_9293.jpg

Crun Salu as a Jedi Knight.

A Jedi once. Crun Salu's fall is one steeped in fear, pain, and suffering. After Order 66, he was eventually captured and conscripted into the Inquisitorious. Renamed the Twelfth Brother, his role as an Inquisitor was one that crippled him. If any light were left in him before, it was scotched out after being commanded to seize—and sometimes slaughter—one too many Force-sensitive adolescents.

At the end of the Galactic Civil War, the Inquisitors vanished. The Twelfth Brother was no exception. Much like the denouement of the Republic, the Empire's defeat demanded his own dissolution. Again, he was forced into exile—left to darkness—unwanted and unwelcomed in the galaxy.

A decade later, the forlorn falleen returned to the most recent and closest thing to home that he knew. A watery moon located in the Mustafar system. He couldn't be certain as to whether or not the facility, hidden beneath the all consuming oceans of Nur, had been completely abandoned or destroyed. So, Crun approached and investigated the location with acute apprehension. Having no place in the Imperial remnant that still lurked in the shadows of the galaxy, and—without a doubt—being a sworn enemy to the fledgling New Republic...one could not be too careful.

What the ex-Inquisitor discovered, was not at all what he'd hoped for. Jilted, the underlying fortress was, but unoccupied...it was not. The dark side of the Force kept the base as its own headquarters. Its portentously powerful presence dominated the dormant stronghold. Had Crun wanted to turn away, he wouldn't have been able to. No, he wouldn't be caught by those who sought to bring him the justice he deserved. Not there. Not in that place, because there, he was already a captive.

No... A slave.

Transmogrified by the dark side of the Force.

Decade upon decade passed, and there—in the bowels of Nur—the afflicted creature remained. Stripped of every indication of his former self and transformed, from the fallen Jedi Knight ex-Inquisitor, into a monstrosity of the likes which he'd never seen or even heard of. He had become the Dark side's Damned. The Defiled. The Devoured. The Doomed.

He had become the indicium of the Dark side itself. He had become...

Dicium.

APPEARANCE

Darth.png

Before dark side corruption, and after.

The pronounced features of his kind are all but gone. What remains are the distinguishing characteristics of decaying flesh. The dark side of the Force feeds on his fear, the consternation that has placed him in exile. Decades of seclusion, accompanied consistently by the Force alone. That which drains him, also sustains him. As afflicted as he may be outwardly, the scars run deeper within, tormented by his troubled past—wrestling with both morality and mortality.

PERSONALITY

Paranoia shapes his personality now. His life has left him mistrustful and suspicious of everyone and everything. He has not interacted with any sentient beings for more than a century. The only lifeforms that have visited him have been visions conceived by the Force, as well as delusions and hallucinations created by his own imagination.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

Having been trained by the Jedi, he was a relatively skilled defender. His physical strength and size, bolstered by the Force made his guard difficult to break. As an Inquisitor, however, he was forced to change tactics. The propensity he'd had for the form of resilience was quite literally beat out of him and replaced with overpowering assault. Protection gave way to aggression.

Having never been trained to become a true Sith, his inculcation with the dark side of the Force is limited to that which Darth Vader and the Emperor had deemed necessary to share with the brothers and sisters of the Inquisitorious. Limited, too, was his experience as a Jedi Knight. Therefore, his training overall would best be categorized as incomplete. Still, though untested, his time spent in exile—thronged by the Dark side—has left him pullulated with unleashed potential and power.
