Song was in hot pursuit.

According to information on a bounty released by the Guild, a notorious smuggler by the name of Jer Katan was spotted in the sector in a YT-2000 light freighter. Already in the area, and afraid some other hunter would beat her to the punch, she quickly found and locked in on a freighter of the same model cruising through the Jakku system.

All she had to do now was disable the ship, send it spiraling down onto the scavenger’s planet, and collect her prize. With her targeting system locked onto the freighter, she could already feel the fat stash of credits in her clammy hands.

With a click of the trigger on her wheel, she fired several shots at the enemy vessel, hoping to puncture the shields and force the ship into landing onto the planet surface. Although she was not the finest pilot Clan Wren had to offer, she was damned sure not the worst.

I know it’s you, Jer Katan,” she would say over her comms, her voice deep and gritty through her helmet’s voice modulator, “Land your ship or I’ll land it for you!

She let loose another set of shots, aimed towards his left engine, in an effort to bring him down. Little did the Mandalorian know that the man she was attacking was not Jer Katan, not the bounty she was after, but rather a wayward traveler.

Someone who had been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"What? No, we're not going to Jakku." Jey said in response to the 4EY unit's question "Wouldn't go to that wasteland if my life depended on it." he added with contempt in his voice, Jakku really was a wasteland... a nowhere planet where things go to get forgotten. The Force-sensitive teen was currently on auto-pilot, figuratively and literally, he was taking a break from the search for his father and was simply going where the wind took him, in search of some superficial thing to keep him stimulated.

As he passed over Jakku, close to its atmosphere, he began to sense something - the pit in his chest formed, which meant some form of threat to him was near. His instincts were proven correct when a few shots managed to damage his shields, shortly after the attacker spoke through his comms. Referring to Jey as Jer Katan, the attacker threatened him which he didn't take too well, at all. Jey placed a button on one of the panels, activating his comm - "I don't know who you think you are, tryin' to push me around!" he yelled back as he began to spin the Kath Hound around, ready to engage in a dog fight.

However, this attacker managed to catch him off guard as they managed to land a shot on the Kath Hound's left engine and realised the ship was about to go down. Angered, the Force-sensitive teen wanted quick revenge and practically emptied his fuel into the right operational engine, as he proceeded to accelerate towards his attacker's YT-2400 with the goal of ramming into them and taking them with down him. Ignoring the objections of his droid companion, Jey rammed the front of the Kath Hound into the enemy ship.

Both his and the enemy vessel would begin to plummet down toward Jakku with the teen attempting to gain some control of his ship before inevitably dying from a crash land. As the sands of Jakku grew larger and larger from his point of view, he closed his eyes and prepared for impact before seeing permanent black...

The Mandalorian smirked as the shots landed on Jer’s left engine, trailing smoke and a touch of fire. An excellent shot. She only wished she fired a second time, because the freighter was going full circle and had now aligned itself on her own trajectory. Song fully expected a dogfight, some retaliatory fire, but not that. Not a ram, or a borderline kamikaze attack.

She tried to make evasive maneuvers, but the enemy vessel was too close and coming in too fast. By then, it was too late.

Her head slammed into the dashboard at the force of impact. If she hadn’t been belted into her seat, Song might have flown right into the windshield. She was fortunate enough instead to sustain a very minor concussion. Though she was very unfortunate at the realization her ship had been disabled too and was now fast descending into Jakku’s upper atmosphere.

Shit, shit, shit!” she said, desperately trying to get her ship started back up. “You’ve got be kriffin kidding me.

Her ship continued to spiral down, the vast dunes of the planet coming ever closer. At the last second, she restarted her ship’s mainframe and its engines roared back to life. Still, it was too late. Though her landing was cushioned, it was rough, carving into the sands before shrieking to a stop in front of the remains of an enormous Star Destroyer.

Cursing all the while, Song kicked her way out of the cockpit and stumbled mindlessly out into daylight. She was met by a blinding sun and a swell of heat, but neither would stop her from finishing the mission, because in the distance, she could spot a line of gray smoke. Jer Katan had crashed too.

She was going to shred him.

Journeying across the dune between them, ignoring the sweat starting to collect under her armor, Song eventually made it over to the man’s ship. A wrecked heap. No doubt its pilot was somewhere inside, a mangled mess or still breathing. Either way, he was dead meat.

She circled around to an emergency hatch, practically tearing it open. Then, slowly and carefully, she plunged into the dark. Blaster locked and loaded.

Groaning, Jey came to, hearing the concerned beeps and chirps of Scouty who's bright glare blinded him for a brief moment. Squinting, Jey expected to be feeling an immense amount of pain but then noticed bacta patches scattered across his body. With a smile, he realised this was Scouty's doing and patted him accordingly "You're the best, little guy." rubbing his head, Jey slowly stood up from the pilot's chair.

Then he was reminded he had an attacker on his tail, through the Force he felt a presence on the now-downed Kath Hound. While he wasn't sure if this was the same attacker, he wouldn't take any chances - turning his head to meet the gaze of his droid, Jey raised a finger toward his mouth and motioned for the droid to be quiet. The hazel eyed teen proceeded to slowly but quietly remove both one of his DL-18s as well as his lightsaber and exited the cockpit.

Due to the intense crash landing, the freighter's lights were damaged and thus they flickered violently and randomly across the ship, although Scouty had it covered and activated his spotlight to provide light for the young Force-sensitive. Jey knew whoever this person was, they were hiding, and that he'd have to use his connection to the Force to locate them. Carefully and quietly, he made his way toward the emergency hatch area as the intruder's presence was much stronger there.

As he arrived in the emergency hatch's area, he motioned for Scouty to shut off his spotlight and let the Force guide him from here on out. As the lights in the area continued flickering on and off, that's where he spotted the intruder - with the temporary light that he had, Jey quickly shot off his blaster in the direction of the intruder, who, from what he saw, wore Mandalorian armour. After revealing his location with the blaster shot, the teen then activated his lightsaber ready to deflect any return shots or a potential close quarter fight.

Song breathed hard and rough through the sweltering heat of outside and in the cool darkness of the crashed ship, her panting metallic and mechanical underneath her helmet and voice scrambler. Lights winked on and off around her. A faint alarm blared. Other than her own breathing, she could only hear her metal boots against the grating floor. Another red light flickered.

That was when she saw him. The figure, Jer Katan.

Or what she believed was Jer Katan.

They fired the first shot, confirming to the Mandalorian that what she was dealing with was an immediate threat. Natural instinct, or pure dumb luck, saved her from receiving a blow to her shoulder as she twisted to the side of the corridor and into temporary cover. Quickly, she fired two shots of her own into the general direction of the attack. She didn’t expect anything to land.

But what she really didn’t expect was the flash of a lightsaber.

Yellow light engulfed the corridor. Song might’ve been shocked or afraid, retreating into a more advantageous position outside, but she was a Mandalorian. She never ran from a fight. Instead, she stepped into the open hall.

She didn’t pay close enough attention to realize the man she was facing wasn’t Jer Katan, especially as he stood behind his blinding saber and as the other lights continued to flash. In the heat of battle, there was only the enemy.

Alright,” she said, and to anyone’s surprise, holstered her blaster. “I’ll play along.

Honor dictated respect. For the Creed, she’d give him a level playing field. Besides, she never fought against a saber before. The experience would be an enlightening one, even if it was against a criminal antiques collector. Of course, that wasn’t entirely the truth.

She took out a thin vibrosword with her right hand. In her left, her usual dagger. Both would be able to withstand a lightsaber, and the Mandalorian against its mysterious wielder.

Not wanting to idle further, Song struck first. She closed the gap between them with an opening sweep of her dagger, then followed through with a straight jab towards Jer’s lower torso. Just testing the waters.

The intruder shot off two blaster bolts at him, though they were scattered - Jey effortlessly deflected the first one with the second shot just skimming past him. Placing his blaster back in its holster, he would focus solely on using his lightsaber when placing his free right hand on the lightsaber's hilt.

Now with a better view of the intruder, he knew he was a Mandalorian - at least he thought it was a male. It seemed like the Mandalorian was about to surrender at first, so Jey lowered his lightsaber slightly believing it was all over. However, it was too good to be true... the bucket head pulled a right vibrosword and a dagger but he wasn't afraid though, he had the Force. Jey had been training with the lightsaber on his own for some time but never had engaged in a one-on-one duel with another melee user, but he was confident in his abilities.

Raising his lightsaber in a combat stance, his hazel eyes darted to the Mandalorian as he closed the gap between them and immediately went into defence. Jey lightly jumped backward, avoiding the sweep with his dagger and then swiftly swinging his lightsaber in a backhanded motion, to knock the Mandalorian's vibrosword off-course. Jey followed up his counter with an attempt at striking at the Mando's right shoulder in an upward diagonal slice, with one foot placed behind him he was prepared to back-step, in case his attack failed.

Song tested the waters only to find a storm.

She underestimated her Jer Katan’s skill, thinking he was nothing more than a wannabe Jedi wielding an antique collectible, like a child with a toy. Instead, she was met by someone who knew how to use it, and quickly. Her initial thrust was smacked aside and her right shoulder was now open to strike. In a second, her arm would be gone.

In a split second, she’d manage to save it.

Jer Katan might’ve dodged her knife, but she easily whipped it back around to catch his lightsaber mid-air, preventing it from plunging into her shoulder. As for the blade still in her right hand, she would sweep it back around. Song arced in a way so that it would cut into his lower torso. Nothing deep, nothing fatal.

Though painful if he failed to avoid it.

Though Song expected he would, and if he did, she wouldn’t give him another second to retaliate. She’d push through. Since her arms had formed into something of an X, the knife on her right and the blade now to her left, she lead forward with her right foot and shift her body to the side, narrowing her guard.

Song kept her dagger close by, but with her blade (if Jer Katan had dodged it, allowing it to continue its upward arc), she would slash it back downwards to his right shoulder (her left). The strike, again, was made to be shallow, both so she could keep her distance…

..and so she could keep this going.

Song had to admit, the duel excited her!

The Mando had managed to quickly block his attempted strike at his shoulder with the knife - this Mandalorian was fast... too fast for his liking, he'd almost be impressed if he still wasn't mad at the fact that he was randomly attacked by him. Jey's eyes quickly darted to the thin vibrosword, now incoming toward his torso - with haste, he used his strength to break out of the hold the knife had on his lightsaber and used his foot placed behind him to propel him backward slightly and in turn avoiding the vibrosword.

He couldn't retaliate however, the Mandalorian had Jey completely on the defensive - something he hated. The armoured warrior was on him quickly as he stepped closer to Jey slightly, transitioning his upward attack into a downward - directed at the teen's left shoulder. Jey swung his yellow blade upward in a horizontal angle, meeting and blocking the attack against his shoulder. Putting some power behind the upward swing, he hoped to knock the Mandalorian's entire body off balance, or at the very least knock his arm off balance.

Regardless if that worked or not, the strength of it would surprise the Mandalorian and in-turn give Jey enough time to remove his right hand from the lightsaber's hilt and stretch it out toward the Mandalorian, summoning the Force to push his enemy back as he did so. With more distance between them, the hazel eyed teen lowered his lightsaber and took a moment to try and get some answers from his attacker. "What's your deal, bucket head?! Why'd you attack me?!" he called out, visibly frustrated although not showing any signs of fatigue... at least not yet.

Jey would keep his wits and attention focused solely on the Mandalorian - in case he'd try anything else against him. As the conflict began to progress, he began feeling more drawn to the Dark side... if this fight would continue, he would need to keep his emotions in check.

Jer Katan was faster, stronger, than she expected. His lightsaber moved gracefully in his hands, like it was a part of him, like he were a Jedi. As he pushed her sword arm off-kilter, Song was a little shaken, but she pushed through too. Seeing an opening in his lower guard, she’d use the chance to slash into his thigh with her knife. It was risky, with her blade not locked with his, but she faced worse odds before.

Then it hit her. At least, something hit her.

A powerful, invisible force smashed into her chest. Even with her feet planted firmly on the ground, she was sent stumbling back, clambering to regain her footing. Though shocked, the Mandalorian reacted quick as she could and fell back onto a defensive stance. She knew what it was he did. As a girl on Krownest, she heard stories of it.

Stories about the Force.

Her eyes tightened on the man, and as he spoke in an unfamiliar voice, as her adrenaline died down and she took a closer look at her opponent, a terrible feeling hit her too. A feeling that she had just made a terrible mistake.

No, it couldn’t be right. She had to be certain of it.

Song pointed her blade at him and said, “You're Jer Katan, are you not? Wanted for smuggling spice and fugitives in and out of the Jakku system, and I’m here to bring you in, one way or another.

There he went again, the Mandalorian's modulated voice called him 'Jer Katan' again, which prompted Jey to roll his eyes and groan "Who the hell is Jer Katan?!" he exclaimed in annoyance as he stretched his arms out and shook them, conveying his frustration, "My name's Jeyten!" he added, correcting the Mandalorian who had clearly made a mistake. He then pointed his amber blade back at him, "You've got the wrong guy, sleemo. You try and take me anywhere and I'll kill you."

After that, he prepared himself once more to engage in combat but Scouty climbed on Jey's shoulder propelled off of it onto the ground, he stood in between the Mandalorian and the Force-sensitive in an attempt to stop the two from fighting any further - despite his small stature. Loosening up again, "Scouty, what're you doing?" he asked with a raised brow to which the scout droid beeped and chirped back an aggregated response stating that it was pointless for the two to fight, that both of their ships were crashed and it was in there best interest to work together.

Jey's eyes darted from Scouty, and then to the Mandalorian a few times before he slumped his shoulders, sighed, and then deactivated his lightsaber. "He's right-" Jey affirmed, hooking his lightsaber to his belt "You screwed the pooch big time, bucket head but instead of trying to kill each other, we should find a way to get off this rock." with an arm outstretched, he proposed a temporary alliance.

Jeyten. The wrong guy. Sleemo.

The Mandalorian scowled. She ought to have been upset at his last insult, and his threat, but her mind was bursting with one new thought after another. Had she shot down the wrong person? Had she mistaken another freighter for Jer Katan? Was she dealing with a real Jedi, and not some random spice runner?

Dread crept in to make a home.

Though blindsided by the increasingly clear fact that she had mucked up bad, Song never shifted out of her stance. This time, she’d be on the defensive, hoping to figure out how to manage out of this mess. Even if she could earn a pretty penny with a lightsaber, she rarely aligned with the Syndicates. She wasn’t that kind of hunter.

Before the two could clash again, a droid stepped in between them. The Mandalorian watched, and listened, to it speak quietly and blank-faced.

The droid was right, and so was this “Jeyton.” Song couldn’t deny the truth any further: she had unwittingly attacked the wrong person. It was her fault now, and perhaps, she ought to make it up to the young man. Make her wrongs right.

The Mandalorian stared back at him, down to his outstretched hand, then sheathed her blade.

No.

Song turned away and moved for the emergency hatch, not wanting to look him in the eye as she continued, “I can admit when I've made a mistake, and I’ll do what I can to fix it, but I work alone.

She tore open the hatch. Daylight spilled inside. “You can stay here or follow out another direction. I don't care, but I'm going to find the nearest outpost and send someone this way. As for your ship, whatever it’ll cost, I’ll cover it. As a member of the Guild, a Mandalorian, you have my word.

Song hoped that’d be enough to settle the matter, because it was either that, or another fight. The last thing she wanted was to walk across an infinite sea of dunes with a irate, irritating Jedi (even if it was for good reason). This was her fault, so it made sense that she herself be the one to mend it.

Casually, she stepped outside, feeling the warmth of Jakku’s sun against her armor. It was going to be a long trek.

That was, before a blaster bolt slammed into her padded shoulder, knocking her back into the hatch where the Jedi was.

Of course. Scavengers.

Scavengers and karma.

Jey withdrew his hand when the Mandalorian refused to shake it, he didn't really care that he did, Jey only did it as a sign of good faith. However, what surprised him was this Mandalorian seemed much more honourable than the ones he had met in the past... it was a nice change of paste, honestly. Jey did not object to the fact that he wanted to make amends and go off alone, and so in the meantime while he waited, he'd try and do a manual diagnostic on the Kath Hound's damage, maybe he could simply salvage some parts to repair his ship.

He would wait for him to leave before checking out the damage and as he watched the Mandalorian leave through the hatch, he was completely took off guard when he saw him knocked back inside the ship, smoke erupting from his shoulder. Concerned, the teen rushed to check on the Mandalorian and knelt down, placing his gloved palm on his padded shoulder - "What the hell was that?" he exclaimed, then he sensed the presence of others nearby... must've been the ones that shot the Mandalorian.

Peaking outside of the open hatch and into the Jakku desert, he spotted six armed scavengers, they were most likely a crew and they were no doubt here for the Kath Hound's parts. He also noticed six swoop bikes behind them. A smile formed on his face, as he whispered "These guys are probably chumps, let's handle them and take their bikes" he wouldn't take no for an answer either, as he was eager to release some pent up frustration anyway.

Song hit the floor with a loud thud.

A groan escaped her lips. Through her modulator, she sounded more agitated than hurt, which was both true and not true. Her armor had absorbed much of the shot, saving her from any serious wound, but there was slight bleed through, and she could feel the burns against her skin. Nothing she couldn’t handle, but damn, did it hurt.

She should have seen that coming.

On a planet like Jakku, armed scavengers? It was no surprise. In most wasteland worlds, it was survival of the fittest, first come and first serve. Her ship’s spectacular crash-landing, the smoke from its wreckage, had attracted every living thing within ten clicks. Like starved vultures, they would descend.

The scavengers outside were simply there first, and they were just the beginning.

As the Mandalorian lifted herself from the ground, she pulled out her blaster and shuffled to Jeyten’s side. Six armed men, chumps or not, were still a handful. Although she had dealt against worse odds, she wasn’t sure if she could rely on the likes of a Jedi. Not that she doubted he could fight, especially after their brief duel.

She doubted she could still trust him, was all.

I’ll deal with it,” said Song blankly, then took a step back from the hatch.

She launched straight into the air seconds later.

Her jumps boots carried her ahead, fast enough where she could avoid intercepting fire and high enough where she could gather a general sense of who, what and where. When she landed on the sandy floor, with a roll to cushion her landing, Song quickly raised her blaster and fired at the closest scavenger. Square in the chest, down for the count.

But still five more to go.

Jey scoffed at the Mandalorian's command - who was he to tell Jey what to do? Shaking his head "Uh-uh! You're not benching me, bucket head!" he stated in an annoyed tone of voice. Jey swiftly activated his lightsaber and followed the Mando out of the hatch, using the Force to propel his distance as he leapt out of the hatch. Jey landed in a crouched position, just a few metres behind his sort of-Mandalorian ally-sort of-Mandalorian enemy and charged toward the scavengers.

This bucket head was like a machine with impeccable draw speed, as he drew his blaster out with a flash and swiftly ended the scavenger before they even had a chance. This prompted Jey to wonder how their duel could have went, maybe his overconfidence would have been his downfall if Scouty hadn't jumped in. The scavengers took notice of Jey closing in and at least three of them pointed their blasters at him and started shooting - which was good enough for him, it'd take some of the heat off of his ally/enemy but also, he'd have his fair share of enemies to fight.

Letting the Force guide his movement like a river current, Jey deflected the blaster bolts away with his amber blade before finally being at a close enough distance to slice the tip of the scavenger's blaster off and kicking their kneecap, causing them to drop to the ground and allowing Jey to finish them off with a downward jab. He turned his attention to the next scavenger and swiftly blocked two incoming blaster bolts from them, in a flash, Jey threw his lightsaber at the scavenger - impaling them with it before summoning it back to him through the Force.

This last scavenger however, must have wanted to test their melee skills as they threw away their blaster rifles and instead pulled out a barely put together First Order Z6 baton. With a sly grin, Jey adjusted his lightsaber and fell into an offensive stance. The scavenger charged first with Jey following soon after, when the two would meet - Jey's lightsaber and the scavenger's baton would create a hybrid echo of both weapons. This was where the fun began...

Blaster deflections, kneecap kicks and lightsaber spearing? Song had to admit, she was surprised by the unorthodox fighting style Jeyten showed. Had she stuck to her blasters, and the Jedi to the Force, the Mandalorian wasn’t sure if she’d have lasted a second against him the tight corridor of his ship.

She was thankful, though begrudgingly, that he was now on her side than against it.

While Jeyten handled two of the scavengers and a third armed with a stun baton, Song moved quickly against the remaining men. One had dug in behind his speeder, a rifle resting over the controls and aimed directly at her chest. It was the same weapon which had left a smoking hole in her shoulder armor, and the Mandalorian knew then that they would be the first she’d handle.

Unfortunately, the second man wouldn’t have it.

Wielding a First Order riot control baton as well, he descended upon her like a predator to prey. Except, in this case, it was the other way around.

Song welcomed him in, knowing at that range the man with the rifle wouldn’t risk shooting his own, and unsheathed her ceremonial blade. Indeed, the fun was about to begin.

With a clean flourish, she and the scavenger crossed swords.

With Jey's style of lightsaber combat being a blend of both Form IV and Form V due to his aggressive nature, Jey was first to break off into an attack with an overhead strike - however the scavenger managed to block it quickly. Unsure of whether it was the scavenger's own strength or the way the baton was built, Jey's entire momentum was halted - as if the baton had absorbed all of his kinetic energy... it was strange to say the least. However, not caring to overthink it, Jey used his strength to force his lightsaber down on the baton and push it away from him.

Jey's eyes darted to the scavenger who swiftly removed his baton from under the lightsaber and swung it round clockwise near Jey's face, the Force-sensitive teen quickly moved his lightsaber to the right and blocked the attack, although the power behind the scavenger's attacked knocked Jey's arms and entire body slightly. To build up momentum, Jey did a 360 spin and slammed his lightsaber into the other side of the baton. Engaged in another blade lock, Jey noticed the scavenger's torso was exposed and took the opportunity to kick him in his groin. With the scavenger bent over in pain, Jey raised his lightsaber and struck him down. Being a kid from Nar Shaddaa, he knew rules didn't exist when one fights for their life.

Lightsaber still ignited, Jey turned his attention on to his Mandalorian frenemy and noticed he was handling himself pretty well... which didn't surprise him in the least, he was a Mandalorian after all. A fair distance away from each other, Jey spotted that he was also engaged in combat with a scavenger who had a riot baton - Jey queried why these scavengers were so persistent, they'd surely have given up by now right? Unless... there was more to this. Shaking his head and ridding himself of further distraction, Jey began making his way to aid the Mandalorian but by the time he had arrived, it was all over...

As Jeyten fought with one scavenger, Song dealt with the remaining two. Blade and baton crashed together. She did her best to maintain her footing with the first man while preventing the second one, with the rifle, from finding a clean shot. In the end, it all came down to speed and skill.

Song was fortunate enough to have both.

The scavenger lashed out at her recklessly, and it became increasingly clear he didn’t know a thing or two about melee combat. Not that it made fighting him any easier. He was stronger than he looked, and his blows were violent, hard. Song’s ceremonial blade was much lighter than the baton, and so was she to the scavenger. For every blow, she was forced to take a step back or to the side to stay out of range.

Then, with a surprising and powerful strike, the scavenger knocked her sword out of her iron grip.

The blade flew before the tip buried perfectly in the sand, inches from where Jeyten was watching. From his view, she was defenseless. To her, she was only getting started.

The rifle-armed scavenger tried to use the opening and fired a shot into her direction, but Song narrowly dodged the bolt as well as another swipe of the baton. This time, she invaded the first man’s flank, like water around rock. Pulled from her sleeve and into her hand, her knife shined in the sun. With a slash across the man’s arm, he gave a mechanical gasp from his mask, dropping the baton to the ground.

She was unable to finish him off when the second man fired again, the blaster bolt smacking into his own man.

As he fell into the sand, Song didn’t wait. She raised her knife and hurled it across the space between them. It failed to kill, but it did hit something: his shoulder. The Mandalorian descended onto him as he cried out. His aim became more erratic now, the next three shots missing before she was already on top of him. At least, on top of the speeder he was hiding behind.

With one foot, she punted the rifle aside, and with the other, planted a hard kick across the scavenger’s jaw. The blow was strong enough to shatter a part of his helmet, exposing skin, before the man collapsed into the sand. Easy.

Song jumped back to the ground and dusted off her shoulder. She turned to Jeyten, and though he couldn’t see it, she smirked. “Enjoy the show?

Jey continued on his way to the Mandalorian, the sounds of the vibrosowrd and baton clashing together grew louder with every step he took. He was amazed at how he, the Mandalorian, managed to simultaneously both avoid getting shot at and still engage in melee combat - honestly, he was surprised this warrior wasn't Force-sensitive or at least didn't have a hint of it within him. Sparks and electricity continued to fly across the Jakku sun before eventually, the scavenger had managed to knock the Mandalorian's vibrosword out of his hand.

The teen watched it fly across the boiling sand, temporarily losing track of it as the Jakku sun obscured his vision - however, he jumped back slightly when he heard the blade land perfectly in front of his feet and sighed in relief with Scouty beeping that he was lucky it didn't land in his foot. Rolling his eyes, Jey took the vibrosword and began to pick up the pace to aid the Mandalorian - however, it was futile, the Mandalorian was a capable warrior and managed to successfully take both scavengers out.

Smiling, Jey responded to his remark "The show? Relax, you're not that good." he joked, although they both knew that couldn't have been father from the truth. Handing him his vibrosword, Jey asked "You got a name? Or am I gonna have to keep calling you 'bucket head', bucket head?" in a teasing manner. Despite almost killing each other earlier, this guy seemed cool and interesting... could handle himself in a fight, didn't whine at him, and didn't care he carried a lightsaber, Jey needed those things right now... badly. Hopefully this'd be the start of an interesting friendship... or alliance at best.

"Scouty, buddy... can't be too careful that more scavengers won't come for our ships. Gonna need you to stay here and keep watch okay?" Jey commanded his droid, Scouty beeped sadly before hopping off of Jey's back and making his way back to the ship, "Run a diagnostic, report back to me what you find, please!" he called out, feeling bad for having to sideline Scouty. After watching the small scout droid return to the ship, he returned his attention to the Mandalorian in front of him - "So, which swoop do you want?"

Yea, I’ve got a name,” said Song, knowing she might strangle him to death if he called her ‘bucket head’ one more time. “River.

By taking her brother’s armor, she had taken his name too. She had become him, to act as his specter and a revenant of revenge. Song might have given the man the name of her Clan, too, as its insignia glinted against her armored shoulder, but first names were enough.

I doubt any more scavengers will come along,” she said as the droid leapt from Jeyten’s back and back to the ship. “If they do, this should be enough to ward them off.

She gestured down to the scattered bodies they had left in the sand. Territory marked.

Also, whichever speeder doesn’t matter to me. I’ll take what I can get,” Song said, and turned to the closest one. The first scavenger she shot was still slumped over it, motionless. With a rough shove, she pushed him off and he fell face flat into the sand.

The speeder was an old rust bucket, a mix-match of parts from crashed Imperial warships and a pieces of a Rebellion-era X-Wing. These scavengers were resourceful. Too bad they weren’t smart enough to steer clear of the only Mandalorian and Jedi on the planet. Poor luck, bad odds.

Before she could hop on, however, she noticed movement in the corner of her eye. The same scavenger she kicked across the face, his mouth bloody through the broken mask, had managed to climb onto the speeder he had fallen behind. How he was still conscious after a blow that hard was a surprise to her. Hoping to finish the job, she grabbed her blaster, but it was too late.

The scavenger and the speeder launched away in a cloud of dust.

Great,” she said, getting onto her own swoop bike. “Just great.

Another day, another chase sequence.

'River'... as far as names go, River was the last thing he would have expected as the name of the fierce Mandalorian warrior stood in front of him... never judge a book by its cover it would seem. Nonetheless, a grin formed on his face and he gently punched River's shoulder "Good to put a name to the T-visor." he jested.

River made a good point regarding the return of more scavengers, as Jey followed River's gesture toward the scattered scavenger bodies. He simply nodded in agreement, still though, he couldn't shake the feeling that this these scavengers were involved with something bigger or at least bigger than usual - they had all shared the same armour and weapons, were more coordinated than regular scavengers and were dead set on taking these ship parts. Jey pondered and theorised that maybe these scavengers were some sort of gang which was strange to see on Jakku.

With that, Jey made his way to the swoop nearest to River's and as he seated himself, he analysed the swoop he was on and shook his head. This wasn't a standard swoop bike, it was made from various scavenged parts that looked like they were most likely remnants from the Battle of Jakku, which would make these parts a century old. Jey hoped that it would operate like a regular swoop bike. With Jey so focused on the swoop bike he was on, he neglected to notice that a remaining scavenger managed to make a getaway on his swoop bike.

Looking at the dust trail left behind by the swoop, then at River in quick succession - "What the--?!" he exclaimed, unsure of what curse word he wanted to use to finish his sentence but instead he shook his head yelling out "Come on!" to River, and gripped the handlebar controller and activated the swoop with a flick of his boot on the pedal, Jey darted off in pursuit of the runaway scavenger. The scavenger was a fair distance away, Jey knew he and River wouldn't be able to capture him in tie as their swoops travelled at the same speed, with his black hair flowing in the wind, Jey turned toward River who was behind him and called out to him "Hey, River! This idiot can lead us to the rest of his crew!"

The teen had an idea, the idea was that this crew of scavengers must have had some good equipment on hand... and if they're lucky he and River could get the parts they needed to repair their respective ships.
