DESCRIPTION

A personal gift to the Emperor from Sienar Fleet Systems: the X-60-line "Ziost Assassin" heavy assault fighter is a one-of-a-kind variation of the classic X-58 starfighter and X-59 interceptor. Meant to act as both a personal transport and a combat vessel, should the Emperor decide to enter the fray himself, the X-60 combines traits of both of its predecessors to maximize its efficiency, while protecting its precious cargo. Dubbed the Ziost Assassin, the heavy assault fighter features the following traits:

Like the X-58 Ziost Hunter the X-60 possesses a Class 5.0 hyperdrive (with a class 7.0 backup), allowing it to zip in and out of systems with blinding speed. As a result, the Assassin is robbed the extra speed afforded to the X-59 interceptor, with the obvious benefit being faster-than-light travel. The Assassin is also afforded the Hunter's shield generators, which gives it longevity in prolonged combat—though the power of the generators is tempered to afford the interceptor maximum speeds of 85 megalights (MGLT).

Four laser cannons make up the core of the X-60's offensive package. Each cannon is situated on the tips of the starfighter's wings, which align in flight (see the 2nd and 3rd image). Additionally, two concussion missile tubes, each loaded with two missiles, are situated on either side of the cockpit. Like both the X-59 and the X-58, the Assassin comes equipped with an ejectable pilot's seat in case emergency evacuation becomes a necessity.

What sets the X-60 apart from its predecessors is its hull and landing gear. The hull of the Assassin incorporates Impervium alloy: a metal found in the heavy-assault starfighters manufactured near Utupau, as well as in some capital-class vessels, offering the Emperor a reasonable defense from laser fire. When landing, the interceptor's wing split into a distinctive X-formation. The wings merge again shortly after take-off, entering flight formation, which is necessary to fly any considerable distance or to engage in combat.

INTENT

To give the Emperor a flashy new toy to fly around in. It is a modified Ziost Hunter that is styled to be similar to General Grevious' Soulless One—a heavy assault starfighter.

Just curious, aren't hyperdrive ratings set up where the lower the number the faster the engine? If so a 7.0 is pretty...Slow compared to other things. Most military vessels would have at the highest a 4.0 I'd say. Correct me if I'm wrong, but 7.0 is not blinding speeds. If I'm correct there are large freighters capable of jumping out faster than this thing.

Otherwise a very nice looking fighter.

It's actually in reverse. Higher it is, the faster it goes—at least on this site. For instance, an Star Destroyer has a Class 2.0 hyperdrive and is much slower than a Ziost Hunter, with its 7.0. I could be wrong, of course. I tend to get the ratings mixed up, so I'll defer to Clay on that one.

Military vessels can usually range from below 2 to around 4. Its possible @Malon put it so low due to the fighter having pretty good stats otherwise, although thats purely speculative.

Edit: @Malon ninja'd. I'm 99.9% sure it works in reverse, with lower numbers being faster.

I might change the rating, but I'll let the Tech Admins make that recommendation. I wouldn't mind it jumping out faster, but there is concern as to the power that might drain—and, with power, speed.

EDIT: I have made several adjustments to this profile, including lowering speed to compensate for a faster hyperdrive. I have also modified the hull's metal with a canon one I like a bit better. I have also reduced the number of passengers and added a cargo capacity.
