DESCRIPTION​

The XS-800 light freighter is a light freighter designed and manufactured by the venerable Corellian Engineering Corporation. Adjacent to the company's famous YT series, the XS best resembles a scaled-down version of the company's larger corvette models, and has a slightly larger cargo capacity than most of CEC's other light freighters. The type is often operated by combined passenger-freight services in the Outer Rim, where the craft's versatility is highly prized.

The XS-800 is 30.2 meters in length, with a distinctive hammerhead-style cockpit, 2 large cargo bays and 10 individual cabins, something of a luxury on a small starship, allowing individual accommodation for the pilot, copilot and all 8 passengers. The ship is equipped with medium deflector screens and a dual medium laser turret for defense. It has a top speed of 45 MGLT, and is equipped with a class 3 hyperdrive.

Notably, the XS-800 is well equipped with standard safety features. This includes a top-of-the-range internal fire suppression system, as well as 2 5-passenger escape pods, plus a backup in the form of a cockpit module which can be detached and maneuver under its own power in the event the crew and passengers cannot make it to the standard escape pods. Though not equipped to fight hostile craft or travel through hyperspace, the cockpit module can accommodate all 10 beings aboard, and can be used to make a controlled landing on a nearby planet, although its engines are single-use and do not allow a subsequent takeoff.
