DESCRIPTION
The XV-21387 Revolving Slugthrower was designed by Blackwell Technologies. It's low cost and surprisingly high level of quality for such a relatively cheap weapon has made it attractive to everyone from wandering traders to infamous outlaws, especially those on the fringe of the galaxy, the Outer Rim.
The gun has a wooden handle, wrapped in black leather. The barrel, trigger, chamber, and sights of the gun are all made out of Durasteel. A hammer is located at the top of the chamber, and can be rapidly pressed in conjunction with fast pulling of the trigger for a far faster rate of fire. The chamber's design is a revolving chamber, meaning the chamber must spin to load every bullet individualy. The weapon is slow to reload, due to the need to insert every bullet individually, but has an average reload speed and can even be somewhat fast for those who have had much experience and practice with using the weapon. LEGALITY
The XV-21387 Revolving Slugthrower is technically illegal on many Outer Rim worlds, but the local authorities don't care enough to really enforce this rule, seeing as how many of the poorer residents on Outer Rim planets use it for self defense, and confiscating all of them would be impractical and costly for any authorities. The closer you get to the Core, and more civilized worlds, the XV-21387 Revolving Slugthrower becomes more illegal. The weapon is banned in many planets on the Mid-Rim, and is not allowed period on any of the Core Worlds. Pacifist planets obviously don't allow this weapon.
INTENT
My intent is to create a weapon similar to those from Westerns. I've created this weapon because my character pefers using this type of weapon specifically as it was the one he was taught to use. I also want to create a new type of slugthrower that is more distinct from the average cycler-rifle.
RESTRICTIONS
This weapon cannot be used as an open-carry weapon at any of the following locations:
-Larger, more civilized cities. Key word being civilized, which is why you wont really see this restriction apply on the Outer Rim. Mos Eisley may be large, sure, but it isn't exactly Courcsant.
-Military Bases
Well, obviously. You cant just have some civvy waving around a dangerous slugthrower, right?
-Mid/Core Worlds
This weapon is outright illegal on many Mid Rim worlds and all of the Core Worlds. This weapon must be concealed by anyone seeking to use it in these locations.
