DESCRIPTION
The Y-45 armored transport hauler, better known as the AT Hauler, is a heavy lift dropship originally manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards for the Galactic Empire. Designed to replace various Clone Wars-era walker haulers in service, the Y-45 was widely used by the Empire, although it was phased out itself after only a few years of frontline service, being replaced by even more powerful models. Even so, the Y-45 had an impressive external hauling capacity, and continues to see service in civilian applications to this day.

The Y-45 is, first and foremost, an enormous flying crane. At maximum encumbrance, the ship can lift an AT-AT heavy walker or its equivalent, fly it into space and carry it through hyperspace to another system. The Y-45 is flown by a crew of 2, and can accommodate up to 8 passengers, originally walker crews, as well as an internal capacity of 10 tons of cargo and a week's worth of consumables. The ship has a class 4 hyperdrive and can make 40 MGLT in realspace, not great but decent for a flying crane. Notable, the ship's wings rotate vertically for landing, saving the Y-45 some space in a shipboard hangar. No stock armament is present.

LEGALITY
Legal. Though originally military vessels, heavy lifters such as the Y-45 are considered innocuous enough under most jurisdictions, and are not restricted in most systems.

INTENT
To bring a ship from Canon into our site's fanon.
