Invasion of Bandomeer

DPKD2If.jpg

The Jedi have made their move. Now we shall make ours. The time for war has finally come.

Quiet tensions have been building between our Empire and the Mandalorian Dominion since the group's inception. The bad blood between us is years deep, harkening back to a time when they needed us to survive, to grow. But they ignored their debts. They swore off their ties with us. And, now, they plot in secret to make war with us.

It is not the way of the Sith to wait for an attack to come our way. We are the aggressors, the devourers—it is us who makes this galaxy quake. We reminded them of that when the Republic fell five standard years ago. Now, we shall remind them again...

Bandomeer is a central world, controlling a swath of Mandalorian space which separates the two halves of our Empire. To be whole again, we must conquer Bandomeer and the worlds under its influence. They are not expecting us—the element of surprise is ours. Destroy their cities. Burn their worlds. Take for the Empire what the Empire deserves.

For the Empire! For the Emperor!

SKIRMISH: Battle of Dathomir

Dathomir affords us many advantages. The local witches are not the kind to be submitted to the brutish ways of the Mandalorians. We Sith have more in common with them. The planet is also steeped in the dark side of the Force, making it what one might call a "home field advantage."

Your battlefield is the forests of Dathomir. These forests are misty, reducing visibility, but are also saturated with dark side power. Use these unique traits to your advantage, but don't make the mistake of taking your foe for granted; Mandalorian warriors are formidable, even under the worst of circumstances.

DOGFIGHT: Battle of Ord Cestus

Ord Cestus is a backwater world. Its primary export is a type of fungi found on the planet and, as a result, the Mandalorians mostly ignore it. However, its importance to us is twofold: the planet lies along a hyperspace lane that connects both sides of Sith territory, making it a critical choke point. The second is the Mandalorian medical station floating above the planet.

Your battlefield is the space above Ord Cestus. Defeat the enemy, whomever they may be, who would defend the medical depot. The station is expendable to us—use it to your advantage during the fighting or ignore it entirely. Be cautious. Space combat comes with its own difficulties, and your Mandalorian opponent will be as formidable in space as they are on the ground.

TACTICAL: Battle of Bandomeer, Part I

Bandomeer is essential. Sitting at the junction of the Hydian Way, the planet is crucial in order to reunite the fractured halves of the Empire. The Emperor himself has commanded its capture, by any means necessary. The first target is the mines. Bandomeer's mining operation is crucial to the Mandalorians, and crippling it will go a long way towards achieving our goals.

Your battlefield is the mines of Bandomeer. Take with you the Imperial Legion and crush the opposition gathering there to protect the mines. The terrain there is uneven, as one might expect, and mining equipment litters the immediate area; use these anomalies to your advantage and use your forces wisely. A shrewd tactician can best even the strongest Mandalorian warrior.

It all comes down to this: Bandor, the capital city of Bandomeer. Located on the coast of the Great Sea of Bandomeer, Bandor is the central hub of economic and political power throughout the sector. The Mandalorians will likely have their best fighters stationed here, and we Sith will respond in kind. Victory here will almost certainly assure the planet falls into our hands.

Your battlefield is the streets of Bandor. Shops and speeders line the street, abandoned in response to the fighting. There is always the risk of civilian casualties, as the whole city was not evacuated before the fighting began; ignore them—civilian casualties are part of war and victory must be achieved by any means. Defeat the enemy. That is your objective, and nothing more.
