Saying sorry to a group of people before judging them from a mainly uneducated point of view doesn't make it less offensive. If I were to say: "Sorry to all you Syrian people out there, but ALL OF US Americans think all of you are terrorist." it is still highly offensive and inaccurate even though I "apologized" beforehand. Both your statement and the above hypothetical both could come from viewing the world through the sole lens of the media. They both come from a place of ignorance and are offensive.

**Edit** With that being said, I am going to go back to the "Happy Raydo" who procrastinates on posting in RPs and spends his time looking for funny gifs

Never said it was MY view. I said that's how most of the non-American world that doesn't look closely at the US politics usually views American politics. Yes, it is a view born of ignorance, and yes, it is offensive. I can't do much about that. But it is how most non-Americans I've met IRL and online views American politics. I'm sorry if that is offensive to you, but as said, it's not much I can do about it. Just like how I find hyper-religious people offensive, but I can't change them (despite having tried my damnedest).

EDIT: But alright, I'm dropping it.

none of that is racist, offensive maybe, but not racist. I think we've forgot the definition as everyone loves to pull the race card the spoons something happens to a minority group.
Sure it is. It's all structural oppression that keeps minority classes down, which is what racism ultimately comes down too. You don't have to wear a white hood and shout "I HATE BLACK PEOPLE" to be a racist.

I'm pretty sure Donald trump's comments are not keeping minorites down. Half of the garbage in that Huff post article was out of context and the other half was before he ran for president. The statement that he is a 'racist' is a leftist buzzword and a smear campaign that's doing a very poor job at stumping him.

Considering he wanted to restrict all people of the Muslim religion from entering American soil until the terrorism threat "was evaluated" (lol, when will that happen) I'd say he is pretty racist, not to mention his "reforms" to immigration laws (a giant wall? Like wtf is he serious?) and the way he speaks about illegal immigrants, especially hispanic people, I'd say he is pretty racist. But let's also understand the poor man. He had it very tough with the small loan of a few million dollars his dad gave him. #sarcasm

I am from the United Kingdom, so I am not particularly up to date with the issues in The Colonies America (despite some thinking it is the center of the world, freedom, eagles, gun and monayyy, I can assure you, London is the Center of the world, we have Harrods, Corgis, and mass unemployment).

That being said, I have followed the election with more interest as the primaries drag on, and have been monitoring the election and the candidates as it goes on.

My results are highly surprising to say the very least, as when I took the quiz when the primaries had started I had the following top three:

  1. Marco Rubio: 90%
  2. Ted Cruz: 83%
  3. John Kasich: 80%
However, I took the quiz again about 10 minutes ago:

  1. Hillary Clinton: 83%
  2. Benie Sanders: 83%
  3. Jill Stien: 77%
  4. John Kasich: 75%
  5. Gary Johnson: 65%
  6. Ted Cruz: 53%
  7. Donald Trump: 28%
I started out the race thinking 'Sanders is a Socialist'.
I then read his policies, and discovered (using the UK idea of socialism) he really isn't.

In the glorious all powerful nation of Crumpets and Tea that is the UK however:

UKIP worries me however, but they're just Tory's that do not like EU Referendums. I answered every single question with 'Bring back th Empire'. Honest.

By that logic, no one can be racist.

It all feeds into the system.

I noticed with your political compass too that you're very close to where Hillary Clinton is on the political compass. And that doesn't surprise me at all, actually. You may be a conservative piece of human garbage in the UK, but in the United States you'd be a Democrat. Which just goes to show you how America, compared to the rest of the world, is a center-right country. Because when some god awful Tory is the equivalent to what passes for left-wing in the US, you know the spectrum is out of whack.

I have done my research into the 'Americas' and have found this map, which proves I am always right about everything, following this simple concept:

  1. Identify argument
  2. Ask: 'Are you a communist?'
  3. If Yes: Ignore them for they hate America
  4. If No: Ignore them, for they are a Communist spy.

Taking my genius, and in fact flawless, concept, I refer you to this map.

stereotype-world-map.jpg
From the above map, we can see that basically everywhere in the world is either:
  • Communists
  • Arabs
  • Blue Tree-Hugging Queers from Avatar
In conclusion, nobody can be trusted, and any school of political thought that is not 'Right Wing' is therefore playing to the Communists, and is thus wrong.

Remember, the only words you need to know are U, S and A.

I believe it was Roland Barthes that wrote that the ne plus ultra mistake of the bourgeoisie is its tendency towards essentialism. It's why I don't really care for ISideWith. Not only does it take these functionaries at their word (consider Candidate Obama and the Individual Mandate) but as is the tendency it then spits out a simple little number that elides the presence (to say nothing of the complexity or appeal) of other positions and the parties/tendencies holding them. At least the Compass has a few ordinal values and the power of Cartesian coordinates (and a neat little visual) to recommend it.

@Norbster: Sanders is a right-wing Social Democrat. He's more or less a fraud/sheepdog for an increasingly restive Democratic base. Watch him endorse the execrable Clinton in a few months. I feel for his supporters but they are being played for fools.

BLADE two things.

1. Every time you write down something, literally every time, I learn something new.

2. I completely agree with you that Bernie Sanders supporters are being played for fools.

Bernie is a man who is promising all these people everything. Free healthcare and free college and decreasing the gap and this and that. All of that is a bunch of bullshit.

Everyone nothing is free in this life.

Free college basically equates to this: I work my ass off and have a job. Then I pay taxes, and these taxes fund some kids College education. Then while I'm busting my back everyday 9 to 5 trying to scrape by. Some kid is out skipping class, getting drunk, partying, and living it up at college. Also, Bernie is all about legalizing that Marijuana!!!!!! So now all these college kids can get high as fuck to! Yay to our futures!

Ever got something for free in your life? If you get something and you don't earn it, you don't respect it. That's a basic lesson for life.

For free healthcare. OMG were to begin. Do you people know who gets free healthcare? Our veterans get free healthcare and they are put on a massive waiting list. They even wait so long that treatment doesn't get to them in time and they fucking die. BUT ITS FREE!!!

Free healthcare means no competition, no drive for the standards and service's to get better. So the government doesn't give a shit and they keep it plain and simple. When something is free you want a lot of it. So all the people with their little tummy aches are gonna stop by the doctors office all the damn time (CAUSE ITS FREE!!!!) thus ensuring you wait in a long ass line.

Also there gonna give you the cheapest shit they can. Why? Because they can. Why pay more when you I've no competition.

Bernie fucking sucks.

And Hillary.....

That is one of the loveliest things anyone's ever said to me on the site. My didactic streak thanks you. Also nice to see some positive vibes in personal interactions. It may be me getting older and more soft-hearted but I try to teach my daughters to be kind or at least learn.

Or to borrow from Dreiser, I believe in the compelling power of love.

Which brings me to the college issue. On this I do agree with Sanders and I urge you to reexamine your position. If these college graduates graduate gratis but then give back to society (through their job, social reproduction, etc.) aren't they in a sense paying back?

You have an admirable sense of conviction, but in this I urge you to keep learning.

Regards,

Prospero
