Crix and Talak were kind of operating on a level of understanding and acceptance that didn't leave them friends but also didn't leave them completely unconnected and unconcerned with each other. They were kind of stuck together for the moment, waiting until they had a clearer idea as to what they could actually do to help Trys, where they could take her that would suit her best. Usually Crix wouldn't leave her side but he had to on some occasions and, like clockwork, when he left her room, Talak would head on in.

Which made it fairly easy for Crix to pick up Talak's communicator from where he had left it on charge, once they had done their 'changing of the guard' or whatever. It wasn't like they were ever going to name the awkward shuffling they did around each other.

Grabbing it had been the easy part but getting into it had taken a little bit of work. Thankfully he still had his little multi-tool and he had done some reading on different models after his mix up with his mom's communicator back on Coruscant. Once he had gained access he headed to a different part of the ship, wanting to stay out of Talak's hearing.

He didn't really, like, know about how much the dude could 'sense' with the Force but he figured distance might be good. Flicking through the limited contact list (Talak liked to keep a close circle it seemed, which he could respect for sure since he was the same), he passed over a few names before picking one at random and starting the holoconference.

Whoever the hells "Hans" was might be a Jedi and he really needed a Jedi.

It had been a productive night, in theory, Hans pondering despite feeling weary, over many a quaint and curious volumes of Jedi lore. He nodded slightly, tired eyes blinking, when suddenly there came a pinging. As of some one softly ringing, ringing at his holo. Just his luck.

"Someone's calling, just my luck." he muttered, "What the fu-?"

"Oh, it's Talak,"
he brightened, rubbing away the sleep from his eyes and turning in his chair toward the holotable on his ship, stretched upwards to un-knot his shoulders, and hit the answer button.

"Talak you bastard-" He paused. He was pretty sure Talak had hair. And no head spikes. And was Human. "Oh, it's Crix. Hey man, what's up?" Hannibal leaned back in his chair, adorable kitten pajamas sliding smoothly across the extra-comfy leather chair he used for working purposes. Probably best not to question why Crix had Talak's comm and just roll with it. He'd probably just say something clever about it anyway.

Fan-Karking-Tastic.

Not only did he manage to call someone but that someone turned out to be the one who was dressed like a kid half of Crix's own age, let alone whoever old the guy actually was. He stared at the holo for a moment before realizing where he had seen the man from before - he had seen him acting the part of a Jedi in the hallway outside his apartment with his mom.

Blinking a few times to make sure he wasn't imagining the PJs (he wasn't but that was yet another thing to add to the list of things he was going to be bringing back up in therapy), he shook his head a little bit.

"Hans, right?"

Crix couldn't help but think that the person answering his call in sleepwear wasn't going to be of any real use to him.

"Yeah sorry I'm trying to find a Jedi Master to go and pick up my Force Sensitive friends."
he admitted, "You know anyone I can call for that?"

Hannibal tilted his head a little to the left to regard the young half-Zabrak's image, the usual smirk slowly forming on his face.

"Hans, that's me all right. If you're lookin' for a Jedi Master, congratulations, your search is over" he pronounced cheerily, leaning back in his chair and propping bright pink bunny slipper clad feet up on the table. He retrieved a cigarra from somewhere and lit it, a cloud of smoke exhaled up toward the ceiling.

"I'm sure I can offer you a hand, but uh. Have you tried Talak? You realize he's also a Jedi, right?"

'Course Talak was probably a bit busy with his everything going on at the moment. Sullust had just happened and all. Honestly he was surprised Crix wasn't more of a mess. Hannibal was sure he was, actually, but he was clearly a determined young man. From experience, that reaction may not be the best.

His search for a Jedi Master was over because some guy in his pajamas had answered the holo? Did he mean...? Oh. Oh wow, this guy was a Jedi Master? Crix was sure he wasn't able to keep the surprise and mild disbelief from appearing on his face because, well, it was a bit of a departure from what he expected a Jedi Master to look like.

Granted he wasn't entirely sure how he expected a Jedi Master to look but certainly, well, not like he had caught him about to go to bed or something. Which was probably a bit bigoted of him since even Jedi Masters had to sleep he supposed... which was his tangent to ignore the fact that the call had taken a turn for the surreal already.

"Right well... Talak and I are kind of busy with..."

They both knew what they were busy with so when Crix trailed off, unable to actually say what they were busy with, he was certain that 'Hans' knew what he was talking about. It just... wasn't easy to even think about the total destruction of his mom's personality. Telling someone about it was beyond what he was capable of for now. Even in his most heartfelt conversations with Talak he didn't actually talk about the 'issue' - they talked around it because they both knew it, both lived it, and saying it aloud was still like solidifying it as reality.

So he didn't say it.

He just... continued.

"Besides he's kind of... intimidating?"
he phrased it as a question but it was, very much, not a question, "And I was hoping their first contact with an actual Jedi would be more of a calming experience, you know?"

Hannibal started laughing somewhere near the end of Crix talking, though he quickly stifled it behind his. Even so he was briefly taken out of the hologram in the middle of it. Talak, intimidating? By the Force, Crix had no idea. The man was intimidating, the intense and brooding bastard that he was, but he had his adorable moments Hannibal had explicitly agreed never to speak of again. It was just extra funny coming from Crix, of all people.

The Jedi Master straightened back up in his chair and wiped a tear from his eyes, blinking and still grinning. Oh, man oh man.

"Yeah, uh, yeah. Alright. I see your point, kid. Listen," he started, leaning in toward the holocomm, "That's just his face and overall aura, but he's a good guy. I'll help you out, but you gotta get him to bring you here. Give it a shot, I bet it'll go better than y'think."

Despite Talak's, uh, colourful past, Hannibal trusted him quite a bit because, to a degree, of that past. He knew he was a good person at heart, flaws aside, and knew he cared even if he was often truly awful at showing it. He had his ways, but he was still learning how to be a person instead of a weapon. Baby steps, Talak. I believe in you, buddy.

Yeah Crix heard Hannibal trying not to laugh (old people never learned how the mute button worked) but he could tell he wasn't against his description of Talak. Crix liked Talak well enough but he wasn't going to say he was a cuddly kind of guy. And he really did want his friends to be introduced to the Jedi by someone who was less of an open threat; Talak was also busy with something dear to his heart.

He saw his point? Oh good, he was hoping he wouldn't offend the man by, essentially, pointing out that Talak looked a lot more intense than him. The pajamas might have had something to do with that impression though.

"Yeah I know he's cool."
he admitted with a shrug, finding it awkward to compliment his mom's secret boyfriend, "He and I talk."

Sometimes.

Neither of them were talkative right now, though he was beginning to think that was Talak's default even if he was usually a motormouth. He raised an eyebrow at the mention of going to the Temple before frowning a little bit.

"I'll think about it."
he replied in a clipped tone, "And by that I mean I'll talk to Talak - see what his thinking is."

See the thing was, he didn't know Hannibal at all. He remembered him from a hallway and that was it so he didn't trust him not to be manipulating him to join the Jedi. But Talak? He trusted the gruff older man would be honest with him.

Well, it was certainly good the two of them were talking. Talak and Crix certainly had a, uh, common interest. Hannibal was worried about Trys too, but they knew her far better than he did, were a lot closer. They should at least try and get along, for when their mutual interest woke up. He hoped she woke up.

A cloud of cigarra smoke was blown from between pursed lips, curling into different shapes and forms. He turned after some seconds to look back at the holocall, a sly grin forming on his face.

"As you should. Take friends where you can, kid. Turns out it's worth all the trouble." Hannibal's own stance on such closeness had changed drastically over time. He'd never have been such good friends with Max or gone on dates with Indy, but now? There was nothing holding him back anymore. Not that there really ever was in the first place.

"In fact, if you manage this monumental feat of sheer charisma, you might even get to meet with someone on the Jedi Council. Worth a try, yeah?"

Crix didn't know if Hans knew about Trys' condition or her relationship to either himself or Talak... he wasn't really crazy about giving out his family name at the best of times. These days? Well these days the only real sign that he was an Aran was the shape of his eyes and the family-identifying tattoos on his face from his initiation as a Zabrak.

Not that anyone but another Zabrak could really tell - people outside of Iridonia weren't really welcome to learn about the exact translation of the tattoos. He had, of course, told his mom which of the lines and shapes made up their name though.

It was her name too.

He shrugged, feeling a bit awkward.

"Yeah I mean... whatever, I guess having more friends is nice."

What was he supposed to even say to that after all? He snorted a little bit at the mention of meeting someone on the Jedi Council.

"Oh I'm sure I'll meet one of those windbags right off the ship as soon as I land."
he laughed a little bit, "Maybe I'll hear them coming from them taking their big fatcat steps towards me eh?"

His view on what a member of the Jedi Council actually was? Well it was built off what the rulers of his home-world, of Coruscant, were and they were, well, fatcats and corrupt asshats. What reason did he have to believe anyone else with that level of position was going to be any different?
