Heratchi looked around at the small outpost, not understanding fully why he was there. A few shuttles, crates and perimeter sensors. That was about it, apart from the empty and possibly more boring interior of the outpost. He was informed that he was second-in-command here, apart from a Captain. He was also told that they were supposed to be guarding several shipments from bandits. To make things worse, the place didn’t have enough guards. He hoped that he would survive, and that alone would be a miracle.

Heratchi waited around for a few more minutes, until an officer came up to him. Once he got closer, he realised it was the Captain.

You are Sergeant Heratchi der Hannick, am I correct?” The Captain said in a posh accent.

Yes, sir.” He responded, trying not to chatter in the horrible weather. It was during a blizzard, anyways.

We are now 34 soldiers, including you and me,” the Captain said sternly. Then he continued. “I expect that you bring expertise, or at least it says so in your portfolio.” He said, this time almost challenging Heratchi.

Heratchi was surprised how quickly such a high ranked officer could change moods so quickly. From that, he could tell this was going to be a long mission

As Heratchi studied the holographic map, he noted vulnerable points in the perimeter that required reinforcement. "Sir, we should focus on reinforcing the eastern sector. It's more exposed, and with the blizzard, visibility is limited. We need to ensure the bandits can't exploit our weaknesses."

The Captain nodded in agreement. "Agreed, Sergeant. You take charge of fortifying the eastern sector. I'll handle the overall coordination. We can't afford any lapses in security."

While Heratchi agreed with the Captain, it would be extremely hard to go through either this plan. The large perimeter of the outposts meant that they had to stretch troops out, which left the inside unguarded.

Heratchi saluted annyways and set off to organize the defenses, the cold air biting into his face. As he surveyed the desolate landscape, he couldn't shake the feeling that the blizzard outside was just a prelude to the storm they were about to face from the relentless bandit threat on Hoth. The outpost awaited, and the true test of their mettle was about to unfold in the frozen abyss of this unforgiving world.

The icy winds continued to whip around the small outpost on Hoth as Heratchi der Hannick meticulously coordinated the reinforcement of the eastern sector. The Captain, maintaining overall coordination, conferred with the rest of the team to address any potential vulnerabilities.

As the team worked diligently to fortify their defenses, a distant hum echoed through the snowy landscape. The perimeter sensors flickered, signaling the arrival of an unexpected and ominous presence. The Captain's voice crackled over the comms, urgency evident in every word, "Bandit ships incoming! Brace for an attack!"

Chaos ensued as blaster fire erupted, shattering the frigid stillness of Hoth. Heratchi rallied his troops, directing them to hold their ground. The bandits, however, were cunning and well-prepared. Waves of attackers descended upon the outpost, overwhelming the outnumbered defenders.

Amidst the chaos, Heratchi fought valiantly, blaster in hand, leading by example. But the odds were against them, and the bandits pressed on with ruthless determination. A sudden explosion shook the outpost, sending shockwaves through the icy ground.

In the midst of the firefight, a stray blaster shot found its mark, and Heratchi staggered backward. The icy winds seemed to carry away his final breath as he fell to the unforgiving snow.
