Coruscant level 1215, Quickdraw Cantina

OOC: Being broadcast on a secure channel only accessible by members of the Zaa Fenn crime family or close associates who might have access to said channel. Open to reacts and bets from 5S members and independents with 5S contacts.

In a small backroom of the Quickdraw Cantina, forgotten in all the chaos unfolding mere feet away, a dark haired mercenary sat watching the events unfolding on a small screen in front of her, having breached enough of the cantina network's security to tap onto the holocam feeds from outside. But as she watched, unsure of which side would prevail, or which side she would have aligned with if she had been out there and not in here, she did see an opportunity to turn this to her favor.

A few quick taps on her datapad and the feed was sent out across the hyperlanes, broadcast on a secure Syndicate channel, and to anyone with access to one of her business cards. This was an event that was going to shake up Zaa Fenn, and by extension the other Syndicates, so it was only fair that the people know what was happening. Of course, that wasn't why she started the broadcast. Her motives, as always, were monetary.

"Listen up you chooms," her voice went out as text appeared overlayed on the corner of the broadcast, "what you are witnessing is the fight for Zaa Fenn's future. Place your bets," more details showed up as a bookie program started drawing up odds, "and enjoy the show!"

Karina had been resting aboard the Freebird when she learned of the civil war racking the Za Fenn crime family. While she was not a member, she had worked closely with Preef during his last job—prior to his unfortunate death—so it only made sense that she had access to the secure broadcast which offered a direct look into the battle at the Quickdraw Cantina. She’d been lucky to catch it in time. Only hours ago, she had saved her brother and killed her former employer, Kirigan, freeing her from a contract she’d never asked for.

Now, she could start a new life. A new career.

But as Karina took a closer look at the broadcast, surprise struck her like a shuttle slamming into a wall at full speed. The mercenaries in the transmission. She knew them.

Gareth, Aska, Covax. Even through the cracked screen of her datapad, she could recognize them in the bar, fighting, and she felt an odd tug in her chest. Together they had broken into Durr’s palace and, against all odds, managed to take the bastard’s head and end his reign of terror. They had been close associates, friends. They had been one. Now, they were at each other’s throats. It was sad to see this was what the Za Fenn family had come to: petty squabbling and cheap bets. Was this what the Syndicate was destined for? Eternal war?

Karina sighed and shook her head. Then, she typed into the broadcast: “Fifteen hundred credits on Aska Ryun. Another hundred says she beheads at least one person by the fight’s end.” She leaned back into her cushioned seat. So what if they were fighting? She couldn’t resist a good wager, and she sure as hell wouldn’t miss a fight this entertaining just because it was at their expense. That was the whole point of the Syndicates—good fun and a lot of spilled blood.
