Zinbiddle is a Gambling game that mixes dice and cards - something that has become more and more popular in Hutt space as the Gambling business booms yet further. The game allows people to bring their own dice (subject to scans and weighing in most casinos) and cards (subject to the same), and is normally overseen by a dealer, who moderates the bets.

In recent times it has become the preserve of the rich and the elite, a game of sheer blinding chance that has the opportunity for fabulous payouts, and equally fabulous losses.

It consists of three parts - the Place, the Cast & Spin, and the Draw.

Stage One - The Place

Players of Zinbiddle must first place a bet on the outcome of their dice roll. Winning their outcome is known as 'Hitting the Place'. The payouts are as follows in most standard games, using the assumption that 2:1 would mean you win 2 if you bet 1 (meaning you pay one credit, and you take three back) -

Numbers 4 or 10 - 2:1
Numbers 5 or 9 - 3:2
Numbers 6 or 8 - 6:5
Any 7 - 5:1
Total of 2 or 12 - 35:1
Total of 3 or 11 - 17:1

Stage Two - The Cast & Spin

Players mast 'cast' two D6 dice across a table, bouncing it off the back wall as they do so. They must also spin the Zin, a 100 entry wheel in the middle of the table.

There are two potential outcomes the player can win on in this situation -

  • Hitting the Place - In which the player gets their payout based on their bet.
  • Zin - In which the player accurately calls the number of the Zin. Players roll 1xD100 and on the roll of a 100, they win 10 times their bet amount.

Stage Three - The Draw

Players must then draw a card from a pack of twenty cards, and are able to win the following -

  • Hitting the Place - Should their Cards add up to the value of their dice toss, they get their payout again.
  • Solid Twenty - By drawing the card value twenty, the player gets twenty times their initial bet.
  • Biddle - Drawing a Thirteen, AND hitting the Zin on the previous stage, the player wins 100 times their initial bet, but must shout 'ZINBIDDLE' at the top of their voice.

Any other draw involves the player gaining nothing.

History & Origins

Invented by the gambler Darren Reed (@Nor'baal), the game of Zinbiddle was first played in the Palace of Nem'ro the Hutt (@Malon), as a means for the Gambler to fleece the Hutts staff, guards and visitors out of drinking money. However, such was the popularity of the game that it soon began to take off, and was taken up by some of the nearby Hutt Casinos and Palaces, becoming the 'it' game in the hip and happening gambling scenes of Nar Shaddaa and beyond.

Darren, who foolishly forgot to trademark the name, was however soon widely forgotten as the games creator, and when the game was taken up by the major core-world and Cantonica Casinos, lacked the funds to make anything of it - simply accepted that his legacy was now long forgotten. Mere months after it arrived on Coruscant, the game was outlawed across the Republic due to breaking Gambling Commission Laws, and now can only be played in Hutt Space and other key gambling worlds.

Intent and RP

The intent of this is to build on some of the Lore in the Canto Bight Book, and develop a game unique to Hutt Space, using the new dice roll system - and make a gaming tourny out of it! As for RP, the best way it would work is to simply do each round as shown above as a posting round, seeing who manages to make it through to the end without going completely broke. Last man standing wins! This is a reposting of a lore item from last TL.
