  • I had a lot of plot material I was thinking about, I may just have to PM you what I have off the top of my head.
Well considering neither of us were able to actually RP what happened on the planet (with Kasche & Aidan), I would like to at least map out, maybe by PM, the storyline of what happened for the space of those years so I can try and at least make a version of it on the profile.
Hey, are not gonna do the Nightsister faction now? Because if not, I have new plans for Nirzak
Well, even if we don't get to make it, our characters are interesting as it is.
Indeed. And I'm calling it quits for tonight. I'll resume tomorrow morning. And if you can think of a better term than "belief" in the sense I've been using it in the last few posts, feel free to provide suggestions. I used the word to describe what I was trying to explain, what best fit, not necessarily as the true definition as used in prior conversations in that thread.
Let's turn the pyramid into ye old death trap, and then ease ourselves into 360 combat. I also want a point where the two are on the move, being hunted.

What if Aidan is presented with a challenge he can't defeat? What if the way to 'break' Aidan isn't through violence and danger, but instead from isolation? Perhaps we could have Aidan feel utterly alone, and somewhat solitary in a world he has to fight alone. A good time of this can be his breaking point. Every mind has needs, and even if Aidan is a man of war who breaths in violence through breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it's plain that humans begin to go crazy from being isolated from any sort of sentient communication or contact.
Even at ex Spec Ops, you have a breaking point. I imagined a point in the near future where Kasche and Aidan face 360 degree combat, struggling for their lives. A great introduction to the surviving theme. This can put Aidan on edge, and the part that pushes him can be this society, a monster that looks the safest but is really luring you into its deadly jaws. The feeling that there is no way out, no way to get off, and hopelessness. Any character stuck on the planet long enough starts to become tired of the constant thrills and adrenaline, begins to break. It isn't who gets off and who falls behind. It's simply an everlasting race, the last person being the one who gets consumed by the void. No matter how you slice it, you've got a price on your head and you're doomed. Unless Aidan truly is a machine, such an experience will likely begin to twist his mind, too.

In essence, I really want to make a reader feel like this a hell that cannot be escaped from.
When I think of it though, I don't want Kasche to meld with the planet and become a part of it. No, a good theme I suggest is survival, a desperate need that stimulates our two mercenaries. No longer are things of money, work, professionalism. Things have reverted to the carnal age of life and death. Separation, starvation, to hunt and to be hunted. A society that appears normal, calms the nerves, and begins to comfort our two troubled characters perhaps? A society that underneath is deadlier than all the beasts. Kasche's upbeat insides turning hard can be a representation of sorts of what happens to those who become lost on this forsaken planet. A handful of survivors purged into this life, slowly adapting and becoming worse monsters than the ones that they fear. A society created for a false sense of security, but in reality degraded without the morals of common civilization. There are no boundaries. There are no right and wrong, no good and evil. There is only survival.
Insightful. I like it, though of course I still feel as if there is more we can add to the equation, areas we can still expand upon. We do have quite a long time in this world, being this a timeskip thread, and though we can implement this plot it seems more correct if implemented at the correct time.

For me, I like to decide on a theme to accent into a good thread and begin to slowly seep it into some deciding factors of my plot. This one? I haven't quite decided yet. I've left quite a long list of possibilities for our decision. Danger and mystery? Hellish damnation? Perhaps, but these are themes I'm using in another thread and I hate to overlap something like that. I have voiced a desire for the theme of possible insanity or foreign wilderness. I love a new perspective on these things, it garners fresh ideas and helps me gain more inspiration once my old ones begin to fade.
It is somewhat Kasche's story, but I want it to be just as much Aidan's story. The dynamic was intended to be a much more powerful experience for both characters, but so far it's just Kasche beginning to lose his mind and Aidan calmly watching. Not asking to break character, but I don't want to end this thread with Kasche a different man and Aidan no different than he began. You feel what I'm getting at? I've been touching a couple nerves, for some sort of human response in Aidan, but so far I've seen that cold killing machine that I suspect he is.

Let's continue in PM, if that's fine by you.
How about we look at what should happen in Stray about now, I've got a couple ideas but I'd like to see what you've got up your sleeve. Most of what we have is a gradual introduction and foreshadowing, but I'd like to plot with you on how to play out.
