((OOC/ So, SO sorry about the wait. X_X))

------------

Veren walked foward, leading the way. Avaloria was certainly patient... When he first came to the pool on Ossus, he was practically jumping on his Master in eagerness to get in and swim. On the other hand, he had also been twelve at the time.

The faun-like Jedi clopped through the doors, his hooves making a distinctive, horse-like clap on the linoleum floor tiles. It echoed in the quiet pool vault. Veren looked up, taking in the vast room's appearace. It was huge- tall, wide, and the pool was deep on the far side. Very deep. The pillars on the side of the room were dazzling marble white, and the walls were a light grey with maroon highlights, and the pool was rectangular, going from ankle level to the depth in which a Nautolan or a Mon Calamari could swim down to quite comfortably.

The faun-like Jedi Knight turned to his Padawan. "Well, it appears that we're ahead of the rush. At around seven thirty, this place gets packed.... But a question, first. How well do you swim?"

[OOC: No problem =) Figured something was keeping you at bay. ]

She followed her Master into the room where the pool was. As they proceeded through the doorway, she smiled in awe of the design the creator had manifested for such a simple thing, a Pool. She looked to her Master as he spoke and heard his Question rather plainly. Her skin in the crafted light wells of the pool, seem to radiate with life.

She responded with a soft tone , one she came accustomed to, "Well, On ryloth there are pools of Water that are so deep that one could never reach the bottom. Yet those pools are in areas where one can not always go, because Ryloth itself is a very dangerous environment. So, instead of telling you my life story I suppose in short.. I can swim fairly well, but Its another thing I could improve upon."

He laughed, and responded jokingly, "Don't worry. If you always remember to respond to any question with a long story- preferably unrelated to the topic- you'll become either a Great Jedi Master or a Council Member."

He waited for her to respond, then continued. "Anyway, since you say you swim very well, let's see. For this ability I need to teach you, you'll need to warm up- feel free to swim either a few laps, or a strategy I like to use is to use a tiny bit of Telekinesis to excite your muscles, loosening them and basically getting the effect of a warm-up without having to actually do it."

She was more then fine with doing this the hard way. She gave her Master one last smile before leaping head first into the water of the pool, making sure it was the deep end before doing so. Her Body, angled itself to a degree where she made a moderate splash upon her impact. She would emerge from the water's depth almost immediately afterward finding herself going into a stroke, as she attempted to swim to one end of the pool to the other. The water rolled over her lekku's and her body as if she was one with the liquid.

As she touch the end of the pool she repeated this pattern of tagging one end and shifting her weight to turn to go back to the end she began. She did this a few times until coming to a stop at the feet of her Master, still submerged in the pool. She rested the flats of her arms along the concrete and looks up at him with her blue beaming eyes.

"You sure you dont wanna come in? The waters nice and cool."

The satyr-like Jedi Knight laughed cheerfully, and responded, "No, not yet, Padawan. I will later, to demonstrate another Force Power... Oh, what the heck. I'll need to demonstrate this ability, anyway."

Veren pulled off his tunic and shoulder armor, then unraveled the leather bindings on his hands and forearms, folding everything neatly and placing it on a convenient bench. The Jedi Knight, being an Equine, may have been 43, but he honestly looked no different from during the Alsakan Crisis 20 years ago. One of the benefits of living almost twice as long as the average human, even in this day and age.

The well-muscled, faun-like Jedi dove head-first into the pool, plunging immediately into the water. He waited underwater... for some time. The Jedi Knight simply sat underwater, his fur-covered digigrade legs crossed. He even looked up at Avaloria and smiled before swimming back up after a considerable amount of time- several minutes at least. Veren shook his straight hair out as it seemed to automatically spike itself. His horns stood out on his head when it was wet, for some reason..

He spoke, "All right, Avaloria, you're very intelligent- can you tell me how I did that with the Force? It's a subject available in the Archives."

She swam in place and gave her Master a very warm smile. The droplets of water still rolling off from her lekku's and back into the pool. She gave some thought to her Master's words and then spoke in a very calm manner, "Well, I'm guessing when you submerge yourself you use the force to control your breathing by slowing your heart beat down. Its as if you've placed yourself into some sort of Meditative state, a form of Hibernation?"

She said without hesitation. She saw a few Jedi Masters on Ossus teach the ability and was always fascinated by the concept that one could slow their heart beat so much they'd appear dead.. She waited for her Masters response though in case she was wrong. She was one that wanted to be corrected if she was wrong. She may also appear intelligent but her memory is very good, almost photographic..

Veren was impressed. His padawan was very knowledgable! He laughed out loud. "Correct, correct! Now, try and do it. I'll watch and see if you do it correctly..

He dove under the water, kicking with his powerful legs. His hooves sank, though- the one downside to having them. The faun-like Jedi slowed his heart when he reached the floor of this part of the pool, only a little above six feet. Veren opened his eyes and watched his Padawan, to see if she did well.

Knowledge was one thing, application was another. She sank herself deeper into the water's depth, the water consuming her within its Mass. As she lingered there within the liquid enviroment she bobbled in place for a few long moments, until her air was finally giving in. She was having trouble focusing while she also tried to keep her breath reserved. Her face turned a darker shade of blue , until finally she had to go to the surface to take a huge breath of air. She had failed her first attempt, something she hadnt expected. Perhaps knowing how a power works wasnt enough for someone to actually do it. She thought to herself, "What am I doing wrong?"

Veren swam back up at a leaisurely pace, reaching the surface after a few moments. The Jedi Knight responded to his Padawan's explanation, "As far as I can tell, all that you're doing wrong is focusing on the lungs- it's rare for a first try to result in a success, so you're actually doing very well. The main key to slowing the heart beat is controlling your body electricity. If you can decrease the amount of electrical power to your heart, and spread it into the Midi-Chlorians in your body, then you can effectively breath for, if you're well-trained, hours. However, I can only do it for about twenty-five minutes, as this ability I had to learn on my own."

The faun-like Jedi smiled at his apprentice and said, "Now, let's try this again, shall we? The more you practice, the better you get, so let's give it another go..." With that, he sank back into the pool water to wait and watch again.

Again she descended into the depths of the water, the deep blue of the chlorinated pool engulfed her entire form. As she had reserved a few breaths before her descent and having closed her eyes as to focus upon her inner self she tried to do as many Jedi do, Communicate to her Midichlorian. The communications was difficult still for her, though she had observed many Jedi doing this, she had problems trying to focus on a state of hibernation that would allow her to survive within the watery depths. A few bubbles of carbon dioxide escape her mouth, as her reserved oxygen began to give way. Then, before her last breath washed away, she felt that electrical charge her Master told her to embrace.. yet it was to little to late before she found herself resurfacing ..once more.

"I could feel it this time..," she said with exhaustion as she reclaimed air to her lungs.

The Jedi Knight nodded after he came up. The faun-like Jedi said, "You're actually doing very, very well. The only thing you need to do is to reach that electrical control a little sooner, and then you can really do some interesting things... However, that's a lesson for later, notably when we study ethics and Force applications."

Veren again said, "Now, let's try this one last time, and then we'll move on. There are more exciting Force Powers to be learned, so let's see if you can get it this time."

The Jedi Knight again plunged into the water to watch and wait. He again marveled at the incredible skill of his apprentice...

This time before ascending she closed her eyes and tried hard to imagine a vortex of energy, scattered out in various directions. She had no clue she was descending into the watery depths of pool as she mentally visualized all those electrical currents coming together to form a small orb like ball. She then had the image that the electrical currents surrounded her heart, controlling its beats , slowing the beats down greatly. When her feet touched the bottom of the pool she found herself opening her eyes slowly. She looked around amazed by the lack of air she needed. She was bewildered at first but then struck in Awe as she gazed upon her Master with a quirky little smile. She couldn't help but to look up as well, seeing the brief movements of a few padawans above dancing along the surface like seals splashing wildly. She gazed at her Master to see what he did...

Veren smiled at his apprentice when both were underwater. The faun-like Jedi then gestured for his Padawan to follow, and he turned and swam down, and away, going to the deep end of the pool. Within about five seconds, he was almost twenty feet below the surace, and he stopped there. His species, not built for water, had extreme discomfort when the pressure got too powerful. The faun-like Jedi Knight waited for his apprentice to follow him...

She nodded and slowly moved along the bottom, finding herself getting deeper and deeper as she followed her Master. She found herself concentrating harder at times and for moments relaxed. Having just learned this technique she found it was difficult to mentally keep together her focus as she trudged along in the watery depths. Surely, Step by step she followed her Master's direction, following his lead obediently.

The Knight looked at his apprentice for a few seconds. She was truly a talented Force-User, and an obvious asset to the Jedi Order. And he was training her... He now felt sorry for Master Ducere, having to train Veren. The faun-like Jedi paused, making sure he made eye contact with the Twi'lek Padawan, then smiled devilishly.

He reached out with his mind, and spoke to her using Telepathy. "Now, to test you, keep holding your breath... I'm going to see how well you do this under mild duress."

The Jedi Knight, floating in the deep pool, lifted both hands to point at his apprentice, and moved them several times. The current altered, making moderately powerful currents that spun in miniature underwater tornadoes, doing their very best to bump into Avaloria and interrupt her concentration.

She returned her smile to her Master, that is until she felt the currents bump up against her and she felt herself being tossed a few inches here and there at each wave. At first, bubbles escaped her lips as her concentration literally broke, she managed to regain her meditation in time before all that reserved oxygen was spent. As she trudged along, each step taking every ounce of her strength and every ounce of her mental fortitude to do so she buckled under a more rough assault of these currents. She lost her concentration and found herself swimming for the surface where she broke through gasping for air. Taking a few deep breaths she gazed down toward her Master feeling as if she failed.. but not giving up. She clenched her teeth, closing her eyes and attempted to meditate once more .. even with the currents still moving about..

Veren stopped after his Padawan's concentration stopped and re-focused. The currents froze, leaving the water silent. After a moment of dramatic silence, the faun-like Jedi smiled and winked before kicking up, swimming up towards the top. His Padawan had actually withstood the test... A thing he hadn't been able to do, at her age. He sensed... That she thought she had failed? Prepostorous. She was doing excellently.

The satyr-like Jedi Knight waited for Avaloria to swim up, and said, "That was very good, Avaloria. Now, I had been thinking... The temple can get very tedious, and I really don't believe in a passive training policy. If you ask me, it's best to learn in-field. A lot more fun, too. Now, you see, one necessary mission that doesn't seem too hard is one to Rodia. A kingpin there has pooled a lot- and I mean a lot- of resources. Those were all stolen from Republic ships, I might add. Now, we want those back, and Jedi are the best at... Persuading scum like that to give it up."

He laughed at himself once, and continued. "Would you consider that mission, or should we try a different one? The list's expansive, after all..."

Swimming back to the surface, after watching her master do so, she listened to his words with a growing excitement. Each of his sentences making her smile within as she thought to herself, "Getting off Coruscant, this should be fun!"

She responded back to her Master, "Rodia sounds excellent Master, In fact I must be rather forward with you and say this has made me rather excited. Coruscant is a tad busy for me, and Rodia is a place I haven't visited yet! When do we start," she said in proclamation and with a very excited tone. The water around her rippled outward as she became slightly unrested with that bubbling energy she is known for. The news seeming to make her want to just leap out of the pool and go get ready..

Veren couldn't resist laughing. The girl was charismatic! He smiled, and said, "Good, good. Rodia will be... exciting, I believe. It's mildly dangerous. Those are the most fun to do. When do we leave? Any time. If you hurry, we could probably be on the way in about an hour and a half.."

Avaloria wanted to do things. To get them done... The Equine Jedi Knight found himself extremely lucky to have a fun apprentice.

She nodded and swam to the edge of the pool where she lifted herself up and out of it. Dragging herself onto the tiled floor, soaking wet, she clamored to her feet and turned around looking at her Master. She gave him a big goofy grin, one she did purposely to show him her acknowledgment for taking on a task with her. She knew by now her Master may only need her smile as an answer but she had to ask with a tone of curiosity, "Um.. where do we meet up once I am ready?"

She twisted her body slightly, revealing how physically fit she is. Her thigh's well toned as well as her stomach. Her calf's are slender, and his arms are just right. She grabbed a towel and twisted her body back to face the pool as she started to dry herself off waiting for her masters response.
