Trael had gone through the ‘proper’ process to set up a meeting to report to Azar. He could’ve asked Azar to come to Kessel, the planet he now ruled, or he could’ve showed up and went to talk to him as he normally would. But everything wasn’t normal between him and Azar, so he made an appointment.

Trael also liked to prepare for anything. He had caused Azar more pain than he wanted to. He came to Korriban a few days early, stopping in the city of Adun which was rumored to have unique spices not found anywhere else. He not only was reporting to Azar but he was coming bearing gifts, though he doubted they would hold too much sway, he still brought them.

He arrived to the palace with two bags, a duffel bag slung over one of his broad shoulders and a tote bag. He made his way to the library, apparently Azar had been burying himself in research of some kind. He entered the room, knocking as the door was opened, stepping in once allowed. This felt wrong, having to act like this, unsure if he should act familiar or professional.

He made his way to Azar setting down the tote bag, the clacking of jars and rustling of bags coming from it. He pulled a box out of it, obviously saving it for after the other contents are inspected. A gift my Lord.” He said uneasily, inside the bag were various jars of salsa one having a different lid than the rest, a sealed bag of Trael mix, and homemade tortilla chips. Trael shifted nervously as Azar went through the bag. “The jar with the yellow lid is a new salsa I made. It has spices, peppers and vegetables only found on Korriban.” He would explain as Azar got to the salsa jars.

Azar wasn’t sure how he felt about meeting with Trael again, but he knew they had their roles to play. Since the party, he had gained two wives and a few concubines, though none of it filled the void left behind. He was largely emotionally detached and focused on his duties, especially now that he was serving as acting Dark Lord. Tempest had gone missing for months and there was no sign of her even being alive.

He used the Force to open the door, standing on a ladder to rifle through a row of books. Azar was too short to reach the shelf and he was too lazy to bring down all the books to read the spines. He didn’t look over when Trael first announced himself. After a moment, he willed the ladder to slide over to the side, breezing past Trael to another section of books.

“Gifts for the me?” Azar asked smoothly, “I figured you’d plot my death by now,” He said before he stepped off the ladder, landing with the grace of a cat on his feet. He still carried himself with the same elegance as when he was a mere champion, always having the bearing of royalty. Azar could practically smell the contents of the bag before Trael even got everything out. There was no hiding the visible excitement, even though he tried to suppress it at once.

He had been deprived of salsa for a very long time, and there was a distinct absence of it at his weddings. A pang shot through his chest as he looked at the salsa and snack mixes. Azar’s nostrils flared and he let out a breath, his golden gaze meeting Trael’s, “Why are you doing this?” He asked quietly, gesturing at all the things that Trael brought knowing how personal it was, “To dig up old wounds and remind me how foolish I was to trust you?”

Trael watched as Azar was lazily looking through books on the upper shelves of his large collection. He winced at the mention of plotting Azar’s death, had Azar’s opinion of him shifted this far? “No, despite everything that’s happened you still mean everything to me.” He responded in a serious tone, “But I’m sure your books and shelving would accomplish the job before me if I was.” He mused gazing up at the shelves that were large even to him.

He’d laid out the snacks and salsa. Though he wanted to bring actual food as well he wasn’t sure if he could preserve it as well as the snacks. Trael looked up from the desk he set everything on meeting Azar’s gaze when Azar asked his question. His expression saddened at the words Azar said, “I had a feeling you were out, and I know how much you like it all.” He earnestly said, “I hurt you and will do what is needed to begin making amends, even if it means I have to walk through dragon fire.” He stated firmly, setting down the box. “I’m not giving up on us unless you make me.”

Trael’s gaze turned to the bag and he pulled out a stack of papers, “Alright, so first bullet point on my report.” He said after clearing his throat, “Acolyte Kyssiara is proving that she has the potential to be a powerful Sith. Though I’ll need to broaden my understanding of sorcery to help in her development properly.” His tone was a mixture of teasing and seriousness. It was obvious he was reading from the paper like if it was an official report. Trael could’ve easily just told Azar everything but couldn’t help himself in making a bulleted list.

Azar made a face when Trael made a blatant joke at his expense. Anyone else would have been killed on the spot, but with this man the Pureblood simply huffed. Likewise, when Trael said he would walk through dragon fire, Azar crossed his arms over his chest and quirked a brow, “In a rush to do that again, eh?” He quipped, remembering when they almost lost their lives to a dragon.

Nevertheless, the man's words bounced around within Azar’s mind. He despised what happened between them, and he hated thinking about how happy he was with Trael before that fateful day. When he began to give his report, Azar was listening until sorcery was mentioned.

“Ah yes... You are as equipped for sorcery as I am for saber dueling,” Azar said breezily. His lips almost curved towards a smile, having missed their banter. He caught himself and looked away, clearing his throat.

“Hmm, proceed with your report,” Azar said, fiddling idly with his hair as Trael spoke.

Trael looked over to Azar as he quipped about the dragon fire, “My muscles were oddly relaxed after dealing with it the last time. Though I did have a few new bruises, scratches and a bite mark or two.” He mused with a shrug, a slight smile on his face. Running from the dragon and almost dying weren’t the memories that came so readily. It was that night near the hot springs with Azar. Azar sitting in the mud covering him might’ve made him upset back then, but now it was a memory he cherished. Azar without question jumped into what Trael was doing, even being excited to cover himself in mud.

He gave the first point of his report. He actually did intend to at least expand his minuscule knowledge of sorcery. Azar’s words made him squint his eyes slightly, “I don’t recall having anything slip through my fingers in the little bit you showed me.” He quipped back recalling how he was rudely attacked by a stray training saber.

His squint changed to curiosity, though Azar mostly seemed icy, there were small tells, ones Trael picked up from knowing and being so observant of the man he loved. Him twirling his hair, the way his gaze lingered before looking away, Trael quirked a brow wondering how long Azar would pretend, or if he could make him crack.

He set down his stack of papers on the desk separating a couple. He set his hands on the desk leaning forward a bit causing his arm muscles to flex a bit, “My second point,” He started his voice lowered and his Naboo accent heavier, “Is a proposed trade deal. I will act as a means to take goods from Naboo to Korriban and vice versa.” He continued, “I’ll have to meet regularly with you to discuss price changes and exchange rates. We could bang out the details here on the desk now if you want.” He said, his gaze wandering Azar before returning to Azar’s eyes.

Trael knew exactly what he was doing. There was a time in the past where Trael was still confused about a lot of things, but that had long since passed. Azar’s mind drifted back with intrusive thoughts about the hot spring and the day he discovered entirely new sides to Trael. Externally, his nostrils flared and his jaw tightened and he avoided eye contact. A part of him was furious at himself, and yet he remained fidgeting or idly fiddling with his hair.

When Trael made his second point, Azar actually coughed, his gaze flicking up to meet Trael’s. Just in time to catch the other man shamelessly eyeing him and leaning over the desk. Azar didn’t miss the shift in accent either, the same one he often asked him to use during one of their spicier encounters.

“A trade is a lucrative proposal,” Azar said, avoiding eye contact again. There was a flush to his face that would be unrecognizable due to his crimson skin tone, but Trael knew better, “But Naboo is an ISC planet. How do you propose a trade route with a planet that’s averse to Sith?”

He pretended that the very suggestive commentary from Trael flew right over his head, but it was circling rent-free in his mind. Azar despised this. He didn’t miss all the flexing and the fiery gaze in those sapphire eyes. The tension was thick enough to cut with a knife, and he knew Trael was seeing right through him. Of all the things he expected from an interaction with Trael, this was one he could never have anticipated. Azar cleared his throat and walked off to the side, busying himself with arranging books along a shelf.

“Will you be returning to Naboo now?” He asked, acting like it was a casual, nonchalant question. And not at all because he was nosy about whether Trael would be staying around longer.

Trael quirked a brow at Azar coughing, his eyes shamelessly wandering the pureblood. He smiled when Azar looked away and once again avoided eye contact. “The ISC backed government is adverse to the Sith. I’m simply an individual with a trade license and a family known to be traders. There’s no laws or rules against trading goods from one planet to another. Especially when the ISC isn’t embargoing said planet or planets.” Trael explained, “If needed I can acquire a ‘middle man’ planet to cover the exchange.” He said shrugging as if acquiring a planet was no big deal.

Traels eyes followed Azar as he walked over to the bookshelf and began arranging the already arranged books. He stood there admiring him for a few moments as he asked his question, a smile on his face. Trael stopped leaning from the table walking over, “I could stay here for a little longer,” He said suggestively, “But I do have to return to Kessel in a week.” He added as he stopped behind Azar.

Trael reached for a book on the top shelf, it was one of the spicy books in Azars library. Trael opened it up to a random page quirking and eyebrow. Trael cleared his throat, “He..” Trael read off a particularly spicy section in the low Nabooian accent he knew Azar loved. “This seems like an interesting book. Maybe I should see what else is in it.” He began flipping through the pages, quickly realizing there was much more than just that section and some were longer than others.

He closed the book after a bit, gazing down at Azar as he leaned against the shelf, “I missed you while I was gone.” He said affectionately, turning to put the book back where it was. He then turned back to Azar, “I can finish my report later if you want to do something else.” He suggested, knowing the he himself wanted to do something other than report right now.

Azar was surprised and impressed with the thought Trael had put into this. While ISC was risky, there was no denying that the laws grew lax as ISC grew bigger. Thorne couldn't keep an eye on every little movement on every planet. Naboo was a very strategic trade potential and it could help him expand his own empire.

He began to sort a few books, entirely aware of Trael stepping up behind him. A jolt ran down his spine, all kinds of unwanted sensations playing through his body as he did his best to focus on the books. All of that went to hell when Trael picked out one of the romantic fantasies Azar liked to read from an obscure shelf. How did he know to get that?! Azar tried so hard to be discreet about the placement of those books.

When Trael read the passage, Azar’s face flushed. He was internally screaming but tried to play it off and look away. He turned around only to spot Trael suddenly standing right there with Azar’s back on the shelves. Azar chewed on his lip, suddenly flustered. Fortunately, Trael stepped aside to lean against the shelf.

Azar tried to rationalize a lot of things in his mind. He tried to think back to everything that happened, how Trael had broken his trust, how he killed Trodai. And yet it was hard to overlook the fact that Trael kept coming back to him no matter what. He could have walked away from this, he could have plotted vengeance, and yet here he was. Azar didn’t need to rifle through the man’s mind to know he was genuine.

He was backed into a wall- or a shelf, to be more accurate. Azar kept chewing on his lip, running a hand through his hair, “W-What do you mean something else?” He blurted out, his voice comically cracking before he quickly cleared his throat, “I mean, what do you propose, Master Osso?” He said, deepening his voice to sound more formal.

Trael read the passage, and while he was maintaining his control it was slipping. It wasn’t just Azar who was struggling, Trael was quickly heading towards his limits as well. It wasn’t helped when Azar turned around flustered and his back pressed against the shelves. He wanted to do nothing more than to lift Azar up and enjoy him, but he needed to wait.

He leaned on the shelving gazing down at Azar when he blurted out, his voice cracking. Trael quirked an eyebrow, his face betraying his obvious amusement at it. When he went back to his professional tone and reiterated the question, Trael took a second to think. Various different propositions went through his mind, all of which he wanted to do.

Trael leaned in close to Azar, his face mere inches away as he locked eyes with him. It was extremely tempting to just kiss him, to give in to all his desire and yearning, “How clear is your schedule?” He asked in little more than a whisper, I may require you for the rest of the day.” He continued, his hand reaching up and caressing Azar’s cheek. He gazed into his eyes before leaning in for a kiss.

The kiss breathed life back into Trael, it was like he was a flame that was fed fresh kindling, a fish that had been out of water being returned to it. He had hurt Azar and in turn Azar hurt him. Azar had taken everyone he loved away, everyone besides Azar, and yet Trael’s heart, his soul ached for the man like no other. Azar was Trael’s addiction and he never wanted to get rid of it.

How did Trael always manage to make him feel so weak and defenseless? Azar was a Sith Lord, the presumptive Dark Lord of the Sith. He was the King of Korriban and the future Emperor of the Stygian Caldera. And yet, no one managed to make him weak at the knees like Trael did. He could hardly look at those blue eyes that burned with passion and unwavering determination. Trael knew loss, he knew pain, he knew suffering, and yet he remained steadfast in what he wanted. It was the one constant no one else could ever take away from him. And it was what attracted Azar to him in the first place - that fiery tenacity that burned in spite of the icy layers he built around himself.

Azar’s back pressed into the shelf as Trael closed the distance, the simplest touch against his face sending jolts through him. He had wives, he had male concubines, and yet none could challenge Azar like this, none could reduce him to a kitten, none could shred away all his grand titles and sense of importance to get to his very core, to get to Azar Kressh the person.

“Trael..” He whispered as he dared to meet his gaze. Azar’s heart began to rapidly beat as he attempted to hold onto the last threads of the facade, “I..schedule…times..” He mumbled almost incoherently, eyes widening as Trael leaned in to close that last bit of distance. Once their lips met, Azar’s hand instinctively came up to press against Trael’s chest as if to push him away. However, the touch relaxed almost at once as he surrendered to the kiss, closing his eyes.

Memories he blocked away came rushing back, heat surging through his body and his thoughts and senses dulling. He couldn’t focus on anything but the taste of his mouth, the warmth between their bodies, the familiar sights and smells of the man he loved for years. The man he tried to quit so many times in the past. The palm that was pressed against Trael’s chest turned to his fingers curling to grasp his clothing. His mind raced with thoughts of imagining everything under that shirt, remembering every last detail of every tattoo, remembering what it felt like when he completely surrendered himself to the other man.

Azar drew back eventually, breathless and flustered. He looked away, one hand still clutching the front of Trael’s attire, “How dare you..” He muttered, his eyes narrowing, “You absolute piece of shit,” Azar half growled, his face tinged purple from how embarrassed and furious he was at his own desires and urges. But there was no denying it - he couldn’t keep pretending. Trael had proven himself time and time again in his devotion. Azar wanted to dislike him out of spite, nothing more. And that was starting to go up in flames, burning in the fires of desire the human ignited in him all over again.

Trael felt the hand press against his chest, internally praying it wasn’t to push him away. Luckily the hand relaxed almost as soon as it had pressed against him. As the kiss progressed Trael could only lose himself in it more and more. He had missed this, he needed it. The touch of Azar, his taste, the way it felt like electricity was flowing through him. It all overtook his mind, his thoughts, his reasoning and made his heart race.

Azar pulled back, taking Trael’s breath with him. Trael’s gaze burned as it took in the Pureblood. He heard Azar’s words but they didn’t register, blocked out by the numerous memories that were running through his mind. Azar and Trael had many ups and downs, yet neither could abandon the other. Trael stubbornly refused to let go. Azar was his man, his boyfriend, his queen, his empress, his everything and he would never give up on that. He couldn’t give up on it.

He saw the purple tinge to his face. He saw Azar looking away from him avoiding his gaze. He lifted Azar up pinning him against the shelving. “If loving you makes me a piece of shit, I’ll be the biggest one to have ever existed.” He stated firmly to the Pureblood. Trael leaned in and kissed Azar’s neck, moving upwards to his lips once again.

Trael was going to take his time. He’d been without Azar for too long. The bolts of electricity running down his spine. His body growing hot, his mind becoming foggy. His desire bubbling over threatening to overtake him. He pulled back catching his breath, “Do I need to schedule an extension?” He asked breathlessly with a smirk, teasing Azar over his earlier facade.

Emotions threatened to flood externally as Trael spoke of his love. Azar wasn’t a fool - he could see the love in the other man’s eyes even through their worst moments. That look had been in his eye since Moraband and remained unwavering regardless of how often circumstances changed. Trael had always been a pillar, an unmoving mountain that never swayed to the wind or the waves of the ocean. Through every turbulent tempest, he did not waver, and the same held true for whatever storm Azar unleashed.

He gasped as he felt Trael’s lips against his neck, jolts coursing through him as he worked his way back to Azar’s lips. The Pureblood didn’t hold back, kissing him back with a sense of urgency, this time tugging Trael closer so their bodies pressed together. He couldn’t help the soft, involuntary moan that escaped into Trael’s mouth while they kissed and explored one another for the first time in months.

Trael was no stranger to how Azar worked, and it was clear there was an intense urge there. The Pureblood bit his lip when they parted from the kiss, awkwardly shifting how he stood in an attempt to obscure his desire. When Trael made his quip, Azar scowled and lightly smacked him on the arm, “Shut up,” He shot back, though there was no malice in his tone.

Azar sighed as he looked at Trael again, bringing up something that had been nagging at him since that fateful day, “Trael..” He began quietly, “Why didn’t you show any emotion or remorse for betraying me at the palace? Why..didn’t you react to seeing me breaking down in front of you? It made me question everything. And now..the way you are now is just confusing me even more. I don’t know what to believe.”

Trael could only keep his urges under control for so long. Azar pulling him in burst the dam allowing his urges and desire to reach their heights. Azar’s soft moan into his mouth only increased the intensity of his desire. It had been months since Trael had been with Azar, since he’d explored and enjoyed his company, and now he was able to do just that.

Trael noticed Azar shifting to hide his desire. Trael just stood there unashamed of the desire he had for his man. It wasn’t like they were just up against each other, Trael just shook his head. Trael’s smirk widened into a smile when Azar smacked his arm. Azar then told him to shut up, his tone hinting at the playfulness of it. “As you command, your highness.” He retorted.

Trael let Azar fully speak, his expression growing solemn. “After Karys died, you were shook to your core. You were at a low point I’d never seen you reach before, one I never wanted to see you reach again. You then vowed to kill me or Vossari if we betrayed you.” He started his words quiet and downcast, “When I saw how betrayed you looked I wrongly assumed that you planned to keep that vow. I did what I thought would make killing me easier on you, but I was wrong to do so.” He said regretfully. That day at the palace opened Trael’s eyes to a lot about how he’d been towards Azar, and how wrong of him it was.

His head drooped, “I was inconsiderate of your opinions and feelings on a lot of things. I wasn’t the man you deserved, and for that I’m sorry.” He apologized, “I can’t tell you what to believe, but I promise you I will never give you a reason to doubt my feelings again, whether you accept them or not.”

There was a long moment of silence after Trael spoke. This was a perspective Azar hadn’t considered. He never had the chance because everything progressed rapidly. The Pureblood looked away, gazing off at nothing as he weighed everything. He had shown Trael what Trodai meant to him, and there was nothing else to say on the topic of what happened. Except..

“They aren’t all dead,” Azar said calmly, “I did have them kill Mama Dolce. But it was quick,” He said as he exhaled, “Everyone else lives,” He said as he met Trael’s gaze again, “I wanted to wound you. I needed my price to destroy someone who built you up just as you had done to me. But Trodai was not worth the lives of everyone else.”

It didn’t change the fact that Azar had someone close to Trael slain, but it was nowhere near as horrific as what he commanded at the party. The Pureblood couldn’t bring himself to go through with it. Perhaps that made him weak. But he knew the value of mercy.

“But the debt is paid,” He said, “What do you want from me, Trael?” He asked flatly, “I am playing the role of a King. I have married and have wives and a legacy to pass on. I don’t know where you are trying to fit into all of this,” Azar said, idly fiddling with the ice ring on his finger. Vossari was rapidly working up towards building enough of a base to make himself a suitable marriage candidate. It was perhaps the only way to be with Azar without being some lover in the shadows. Those carefree days where Azar could simply have boyfriends were long over.

Trael went silent with Azar. The mood had shifted to serious and Trael understood that. Azar finally broke the silence, his words drew a shocked expression that Trael couldn’t even try to hide. At the mention of Mama Dolce being dead a sharp pang hit him in the chest.

Trael’s eyes were moving side to side as he took in and broke down the information. He had been to Naboo since, he purposely avoided the entire area where her restaurant was. He didn’t want to reopen the wound, but if he had gone, would he have found the truth? He stood there in silence for a few moments, “What do they know of her death?” He asked his voice carrying a hint of sadness.

Mama Dolce was still gone. She was the cornerstone of his adopted family, and Trael wasn’t sure he could face his brothers knowing the full extent of why she died. That he was the cause. There was relief in the knowledge that not everyone was killed, but there was a good chance his family had been broken over it.

Trael already knew the answer to Azar’s first question, even before he finished asking, “What I’ve always wanted. You and your love.” Trael replied firmly. Trael knew where he wanted to fit in everything. But that wasn’t his answer, “I will fit in wherever you need me to. Even if I have to love you from the shadows I will be the light in them. Where do you want me to fit?” He asked flipping the question around. He was done making decisions without knowing how Azar felt on them. He wanted his input, his opinion, and his feelings on the matter as well.

“They know it was done by a Sith,” Azar said simply. He didn’t get into the details himself beyond telling Iymril to roll back the original order. The Sephi may have been cruel, but they had a strong sense of self-preservation. Azar knew that his orders were followed perfectly.

Trael’s answer to his question drew out an aggravated growl, “Why are you content to just be nothing more than a plaything hiding in the shadows?” He snapped back, scowling at him, “Have you no ambition of your own? Do you never wish to stand by my side in the open instead of being a hidden, dirty secret?” Azar asked, thinking back to the steps Vossari was taking to completely own his narrative and the role he would play. The Wrean would never be satisfied simply being a side piece. Why was Trael?

The Pureblood exhaled, the surge of frustration calming down, “I am a King. I cannot act on my petty whims anymore,” He explained, his tone softer than before, “Being just you may have been good enough before,” He said as he looked at Trael, “But after everything that has happened, it simply isn’t good enough anymore,” Azar stated flatly.

Trael could live out his days in a little cabin in the woods, but Azar was no longer that man. Those easygoing, casual human sides of him had been stripped away. Now his love had to be earned. Now anyone hoping to have a relationship with him would have to prove themselves and make an impact in the galaxy just as Azar had.

Trael nodded his head as Azar explained they knew it was a Sith. He wasn’t sure how that would affect things, he wasn’t known to be a Sith, but they all knew he was FS. Maybe it was for the best he stayed away, it might be the only way to protect the others.

Azar grew aggravated at his answer, he snapped at Trael. “I have ambitions Azar. I wish to marry you, to start a family with you, have a future with you, but until I’m able to make that happen I’ll do what I need to.” He stated adamantly, “Even if I have to be a hidden secret, or raze entire civilizations I will be here until I’m dead. And I will strive each day to accomplish those ambitions.” He firmly explained. Trael had never stopped envisioning his future containing Azar. Though now his dream of a simple life of just to two of them away from everything was just a dream, his future still had the same person beside him.

Trael had always seen Azar as a king, his king. He listened as his tone softened, as Azar explained that just Trael was no longer good enough. His eyes drifted to his feet, “Just you is all I ever asked for.” He quietly said, he had to fight the sadness bubbling up in him.

He took in a deep breath his gaze meeting Azar’s once more, “I guess I should give my final point to report.” He said his voice slightly breaking before he cleared his throat, “I’ve been appointed Daimyo of Kessel. I’ve also began gaining supporters in my push to claim the throne of the Empire.” He said plainly.

Azar’s eyes widened when Trael abruptly said he wanted to get married, barely hearing what came after that. The entire time they had been together they discussed just about everything and throughout all his hints, Trael never brought this up before. In fact, it was one of Azar’s insecurities as he worried Trael ultimately wanted to marry a woman. For him to nonchalantly just throw that out there..

“YOU CAN’T JUST DROP THE M WORD LIKE THAT!” He screeched, bursting into a temper tantrum. He angrily kicked a nearby desk, hopping around in pain moments later. Electricity danced between his fingers, but he managed to curb it. The rage and frustration coursing through him was tangible, “You’ve never brought it up before and all of a sudden you just blurt it out like nothing! You are just..the…worst!Azar said, his fingers curled into fists. He actually jumped up and down a few times he was so angry, unable to express it in any other way that wouldn’t cause the entire palace to collapse. He couldn’t split the palace in half, so he was stuck to toddler antics to express his pure rage.

“You’ve never mentioned wanting to marry before,” He repeated with a pout, crossing his arms over his chest and glaring at the ground.

It took a moment to process the rest of what Trael said, sensing the sadness at just Trael not being good enough. Truthfully, Azar felt that pang too, but he knew he was a different man now. Trael would have to learn to love this version of Azar. The Pureblood looked up, brows raising at the admission that he was now daimyo of Kessel and his bid for the Empire.

“The Hutts imprisoned you on Kessel in case you forgot,” He said dryly, eyes narrowing, “What’s to say they won’t simply do that again? And I’m not saving your ass again..” Azar said moodily. He was still furious that Trael dropped the m word so nonchalantly.

“Can’t get any man to do a proper proposal,” He grumbled to himself, “Do you know the last man that did a proper proposal? Trodai. And where is he now? Buried six feet deep,” Azar huffed grumpily.

Trael had been thinking of a future with Azar for a while now. So when he was questioned on his ambitions and if he just wanted to be in the shadows his response flowed easily. Azar’s reaction was not quite what he expected. It carried all the theatrics he had expected but seeing him kick the table and hurt himself reminded him of a similar incident with a hammer. On top of that Azar was acting as if the word was taboo, ‘the m word’ he called it.

Azar adding in that he never mentioned it before made Trael look back. He might’ve never directly said marriage, but he had told Azar he wanted him to be with him for the long haul. Azar’s outburst was along the lines of an upset child, though Trael knew from the dragon poop incident that he was curbing his real outburst. He couldn’t miss the very noticeable feelings of rage and frustration, or the dancing of electricity through his fingers.

When Azar had calmed slightly to where he repeated and was pouting Trael finally decided to say something, “I may have never said the words exactly, but I have expressed that I wanted you here for the rest of the chapters I experienced, the rest of my life.”He said simplifying the phrasing of what he said on Sullust.

Trael had not forgotten his imprisonment on Kessel. Or how it was Azar that had saved him. “If Nor’baal was to betray me without reason, it would hurt his reputation and take away a valuable asset. Losing an asset of my value isn’t something Hutts do idly.” He retorted confidently, Trael had a plan to secure himself. He needed to begin his push into the Empire soon, starting with taking worlds that were abandoned or lost by the Empire. Kessel was only a stepping stone for Trael.

Trael quirked his eyebrow when Azar grumbled something about a proposal. He then elaborated that Trodai was the last one to properly propose to him, “If this is your way of saying no, I’ll actually prepare next time.” He said, already thinking of how to broach the subject in a more Azar friendly way.

His head hurt from the numerous extravagant scenarios that played in his mind, each one even larger than the previous. But something felt off about them all, that’s when a memory broke through it all, the day he asked Azar out, it wasn’t extravagant or even outside of Traels normal way of doing things. It was genuine, and that was good enough to make Azar love it.

Azar scowled at Trael’s words about being there for every chapter, “Yes well that could mean many things, Trael,” He hissed, “You could mean just being a lover or..I don’t know! I just thought you wanted to only…..marry a woman..” He mumbled the last part under his breath, admitting he was still insecure about Trael and women even years later. He knew it made no sense, but it always nagged at the back of his mind.

When Trael blurted out if this was his way of saying no, Azar gasped, What? No! That’s not what I meant! Of course, I'd say-” He paused, his eyes narrowing. Was that Trael actually testing the waters? He wasn’t that crafty, was he? Azar stared at him intently. He had to admit he often didn’t give the man enough credit. However impulsive he may have been, Trael had proven to be clever over the years, and this was incredibly slick if it was actually a way to fish out a reaction.

“I miss you,” He blurted out right in the middle of his mind doing arithmetic to work out if Trael was fishing or not. Azar’s heart spoke before logic caught up, but he couldn’t take it back now. He gave a defeated sigh, stepping towards Trael and loosely wrapping his arms around his waist, and burying his face against the larger man’s chest. His entire body relaxed and he actively shut his brain off, sinking into the moment and into Trael’s arms.
