Location - Nar Shaddaa, Near a storage facility

Ferrus watched from his perch over looking the depot. His cybernetics clicked and hissed as he adjusted to his eyes to get a better view. He could feel the Dark Side swirl around this place but he could not pinpoint the exact location. He gripped the handle of his Force Forged Warhammer and thumped it on the ground a few times to pass the time.
I should go down there and just tear the facility apart, He shook those thoughts from his head, clearly this place was affecting him and he knew had to act soon. He stood up and began to pace while still keeping his eye on his objective, he rolled variois muscules too loosen them.

"Hey!" A shout broke the silence in the compound.

"Damn brat!"

"Get her! She's got the merchandise!"

Thunderous footfalls rattled off in the closing distance. Dashing round from a corner, a child could be seen seeming running for their life. Their gender was hard to place, their baggy clothes and rapid movement distorting any real distinguishing form. Yet, the long messy black hair seemed indicative of a girl...and she was in trouble. Hugging a ratty rucksack to her chest, she ran at speed, leaping over crates and crawling over equipment. She was quite agile, but her pursuers were closing in; rounding another corner, led her straight to a dead end. Gnashing her teeth, the human girl scowled, hugging her stolen treasure closer as the three thugs closed in.

The pale green Twi'Lek sneered, one hand outstretched expectably, all the while gripping his blaster with the other. "Hand it over, street rat."

But the girl was stubborn. She stuck out her tongue and -childishly- challenged, "Make me..."

The worm headed vandal drew his weapon and aimed.

Ferrus watched the figure run from the depot with three lowlife mercs on its tail. Tossing aside his outer cloak, he bgan to traverse the rooftops while closing in on the disruption. As he leaped and ran, he detected the young one was sensitive in the force and she held an item of importance to his mission. With his hammer in his left hand and his saber in his right, Ferrus saw that the figure, who turned out to be a young girl had made a crucial error. Hearing and seeing, the one of thugs threaten and aim his blaster pistol at the girl, Derrus leapt down from the rooftops.

As he landed, Ferrus brought his hammer down on the twi'leks blaster shattering it completely and causing it to explode in his hand. Without warning, he ignited his silver blade and struck down the scoundrel with a clean slice across the chest, Ferrus quickly engaged the other two thugs dispatching one of them with a blow from his hammer ro the side of the head while stabbing the other with saber in to the heart. Letting the bodies fall, Ferrus sheathed both his hammer and his lightsaber and looked at the young girl, "are you alright young one?" His tone tone was calm and he outstretched his hand in a gesture of nonviolence as he edged slowly towards the girl.

Nyx's icy blue eyes widened at the sudden entrance of the stranger; even more so at the sight of his strange weapons. A sword of glowing light and a hammer. She had spent most of her young life sneaking around ports and bars, listening to smugglers and bounty hunters talk about their adventures. Some even brandished their weapons, waving them about in threatening gestures. But never had any of them used these sorts of weapons. Whoever this man was, he was no lowlife spacer.

She watched as he dispatched the lives of the three thugs, seemingly with ease. She became somewhat fearful; could she be next? She didn't this man was a Jedi, not that she had ever met one before. Quickly, she looked to escape while he was distracted; squaring her feet, she jumped high into the air, unsure how she always managed to achieve such distance. But the wall was too great and she tumbled unsuccessfully down. Huffing, she looked up at the man, who now was focused on her. She warily eyed his hand; life on the streets meant had taught her little about trust. If you weren't careful, someone could easily still your profit, or even your life.

She hugged the bundle closer to her body, giving a slow nod. Despite the poor light, Ferrus may see the blue painted markings running across her cheeks and nose. A tell tale sign of the Kiffar.

Ferrus saw the young girl leap into the air trying to escape from him. He was shocked to see the girl leap into the air solidifing his assumptions. As she tumbled back down, Ferrus offered his cybernetic hand to help her up, "Easy, young one, I mean you no harm. My name is Ferrus, Im a Knight of the Order." Ferrus still spoke calmly outstretching his hand. He noticed the blue markings on her face and committed them to memory. "You have nothing to fear from me," as Ferrus spoke, he lowered himself onto one knee to come face to face with the girl.

He used his presence in the Force to try and calm the young girl. Though not skilled in this field, Ferrus still tried anyway. Extending his consciousness, he spoem directly into the girl's mind, "
I have told you my name. My i have yours?"

Nyx blinked at his hand, partly admiring its mechanisms though silently wondering how exactly he came about getting it. Various little tools and handmade gadgets were strapped on her belt; one could assume she had a certain liking for robotics, or fidgeting with them at least. Nonetheless, it was clear the girl was not trained in the force; her emotions and thoughts were unguarded, radiating out for any to sense. There was fear and apprehension, but also slight curiosity. She made not attempt to fend off Ferrus's mental suggestion - In fact, his attempt at calming her seemed to work. Like soothing a nexu kit, her tension bled away; slowly, she placed on her gloved hand in his and staggered to her feet.

Ferrus would be able to see now her ragged clothes and ill-matched boots. It was clear she lived in the slums of the city; her grubby pale skin and half starved figure; if she remained on the streets it would only be a matter of time before she ended up either dead or enslaved. Perhaps that why she was cautious of Ferrus at first. When her spoke out to her through the force, she looked startled, glancing about her to make sure it wasn't some trick. It seemed she had never met another force sensitive before, or at least, had never interacted with one. Quite possibly, she didn't even know what the force was.

Finally, she mustered a bit of courage and spoke, "Nyx. Esther Nyx." Once again, her interested gaze shifted to his weapons.

"Pleased to meet you, Esther." Ferrus noticed her staring at arm and his holstered weapons and adjusted them slightly. He didnt like being stared at in that way but he suppressed his hateful thoughts before they surfaced and scared the young girl off. "Come on let's get out of here. It looks like you need something to eat. If i am to assume?" Asked as he moved out of the exit and extended his arm to allow Esther to leave the alleyway with him.

The promise of food was too tempting to pass over; Nyx hadn't eaten a decent meal in days. Slinging her ratty carrier onto her back, she soon followed Ferrus.
"Nyx..." She said again, "Most people just call me Nyx."

For a moment she glanced at the deceased thugs lying prone on the floor, though she did not seem overly shocked at the sight. People were killed on the streets of Nar Shaddaa daily. It was not anything new to the girl. But still she couldn't help but wonder, "You said you were a knight. What kind of a knight carries a hammer and - whatever that is?"

She meant it innocently enough. Perhaps now Ferrus would see how young the girl was, probably not long into her adolescence. Out of habit, she scanned the open street, ensuring no sentry droids were about enforcing civil peace. She was still wanted by the Hutts for some minor 'misunderstandings' - she stole some merchandise and they didn't like that.

"Nyx..." She said again, "Most people call me Nyx." Ferrus looked at Esther over his shoulder and asked , "But what name would you like me to use? I do not intend to use a name you dont prefer." Ferrus stopped just out side the alley and made sure the coast was clear.

Ferrus heard Esther mention his hammer and his saber. He didn't answer at first, he was busy making sure the path to his hide out. "
I forged this hammer using my rage that haunted me in my childhood and this is a lightsaber that I also made myself." Ferrus walked into an abandon machine shop and started to climb to the upper floors. He offered his arm to help Esther up.

Nyx paused for a moment, mulling over the idea. No one had ever asked her what she wanted; it was certainly a strange sensation to comprehend. Finally, after a moment of debate, she decided, "Esther. You can call me Esther."

Perhaps she was taking a liking to him, even with his seemingly dark past. Once again, she regarded him before asking, "Do all knights have lightsabers?" She was certainly a curious girl.

She knew nothing of the Jedi; even with the recent Hutt alliance, there were few reasons for a Jedi to come to deep into the bowels of Nar Shaddaa. If not for Ferrus, Nyx could have remained undetected for the rest of her life, however short it may have been. Though cautious, she still seemed innocent, walking up to one of the food vendors, ravenously sniffing the air. "You said I could have food, right?" She looked at him, almost hopeful. More than likely she hadn't had a decent meal in weeks. It begged the question, where were her family, if she had any?

Ferrus smiled to himself as Esther told hin to call her by her first name. It was a very pretty name and he would have hated himself if he never said it. Grabbing a random trench coat, Ferrus swung it around to rest on his shoulders to cover his warhammer and used the in-built hood to recover most of his face.

"Yes, most Jedis do carry a lightsaber of some kind but the style and shape of each hilt is custom to the knight specifically." He noticed Esther sniffing and walking over to food vendor.
"
You said I could have food, right?" She spoke in a tone that sounded if she was begging to be fed. How long have been out here? Ferrus thought to himself as he walked up next to Esther and browsed the various food items. "See anything you like. Pick something and I'll pay for it but please be quick. We need to put some distance between us and that warehouse." Ferrus hated to rush the girl but their safety depended on them getting out of this district and in to the next starport.

Nyx was greedy, excitedly selecting a generous mixture of undisclosed meat. She didn't even wait for Ferrus to pay for it before she began scoffing it, without much consideration for manners; it was like a watching a starving kath hound, being fed its first meal. Nyx wolfed down her food, though she'd probably suffer from stomach cramps if she continued. She ate as she walked, licking at her lips, "What's a Jedi?"

The girl suddenly stopped, her eyes distant for a moment as she shivered. Her expression was almost trance like, though she quickly reverted back to her senses. "Something's coming..."

Nyx hastily looked about, searching for the unseen threat. Her sixth sense usually served her well, keeping her out of danger and helping her avoid trouble. But this was something different; she felt cold, a sensation of dread crawling up her spine. Nyx's first instinct was to run and hide, get out of sight; she suddenly dashed off, gesturing for Ferrus to follow. She knew the streets like the back of her hand, including the back alleys and walk way; if they moved quickly, maybe they could avoid the storm that was about to roll in.

But the girl was so engorged with her precognition, she didn't focus on the present, the sudden dark presence that flooded into the marketplace. As soon as she rounded the corner, she slammed into a wall of muscle. Looming over her, clad in dark robes, stood a yellow eyed behemoth of a man. His eyes glanced momentarily at the girl, though soon they their interest was peeked on Ferrus. "Jedi."

Ferrus paid and was about to answer Esther's question when he felt something, something dark. It was subtle but it definitely was there, Ferrus also noticed Esther had befun to look around as if to see something but there was nothing. He laid a hand on her shoulder , "we need to move Esther." But before he could do anything Esther dashed off and gestured for him to follow.

Following her tail, Ferrus let his newly acquired coat fly off his shoulders as he tried to keep up with the young girl. He could feel the dark presence drawing closer and he couldn't help but feel he was being lured into a trap. As rounded a corner, Ferrus saw Esther crash into a dark robed figure. He quickly unsheathed his warhammer in his left hand and drew his lightsaber in his right. The dark figure spoke and his voice was cold though he only spoke one word, it was the only thing Ferrus needed. Using the force to slide Esther back, towards him, across the ground, Ferrus lept into the air aiming to bring his hammer down onto the Sith's head.

Nyx had seen a lot of scary things in the slums, but nothing made her freeze up more than the dark man's hellish eyes. They looked like an raging inferno, yet so cold and unforgiving at the same time. His mere presence choked her, though lucky enough, Ferrus was able to pull her away. She staggered to her feet, watching the pair begin their heated battle.

The Sith was a hulking figure, his robes hiding his mass of muscle. He intercepted Ferrus's blow, brandishing a double bladed red saber; with a flourishing spin, he aimed to carve at Ferrus's a limb. A lethal but usually effective tactic. It was clear this was a experienced Sith warrior, not some acolyte. Yet by no means was he a marauder either; no doubt a low level dark sider, looking to bolster his position.

When he clashed with Ferrus once more, his yellow eyed gaze briefly shifted to that of Nyx, standing cautiously aside. "I will give you a choice, Jedi," He looked back at Ferrus once more, "Give me the artefact and I will leave you and the girl in peace. Fail to do this, and I shall kill you. I will take the artefact, and perhaps, bring the girl back with me as well. The Empire is forever in need of acolytes."

Ferrus intercepted the swipe with his saber and brought it up to a locked position. The Sith gave him ultimatum of giving up the artifact or die. His answer was already made up in his mind as he broke the hold and delivered a strong kick with his cybernetic leg directly to the chest of the attacker in hopes of sending the Sith realing and putting him on the defensive.

The sith certainly wasn't expecting Ferrus's cyber enhancements; the force of the blow sent the behemoth man tumbling back along the ground, though to his credit, he quickly recovered, glancing down at the indentation made on his armoured chest plate. His scowl turned thunderous, so much so that a charge of lightning briefly crackled at his fingertips. No doubt he planned to short circuit Ferrus's robotic limbs, if he could get closer enough. Once more the Sith charged at Ferrus, all whilst smirking knowingly to himself.

Whilst the two battled it out, Nyx watched wide eyed, unsure what to make of the brawl, as with many onlookers. She barely notice the second presence creep up behind her, not until talon like gauntlets snatched at her rucksack.

Nyx turned to face a facially scarred woman, whose eyes blazed like the shadow man's. "Hand it over, you little brat." When she reached once more for the bag's content, Nyx lashed out.

"No! It's mine!"

A rippled burst out through the force, sending the female sith flying back, along with a few market stands and crates. It wouldn't be enough to stop her, but certainly enough to slow her down.

The sith warrior gnashed his teeth in displeasure, "fool..." before once more focusing on attacking Ferrus.

Ferrus didn't know what happend behind him but he used the distraction to break away and twirl to the right to bring hammer around to slam it into the chest of the warrior. As he twirled he saw robed woman picking herself out of a pile of wreckage of a vendor's stand. Knowing he probably couldn't hold both them off at the same time, Ferrus spoke to Esther, in her mind, telling her to run to towards the star port in the next district over, there she would find a shuttle with the name of Deliverance.

Not giving the hooded woman a chance to breath, Ferrus used the Force to drag the woman back into the alley and slam her into a trash receptacle. "RUN!" He shouted at Esther as she watched the melee continue.

Nyx hesitated for a moment, seeming reluctant to abandon her new friend. But self preservation won over, she'd probably end up getting herself killed. These weren't bounty hunters or ignorant slavers. With one last glance at Ferrus, Nyx ran.

The strike to the Sith's already bruised chest left him wheezing. But tancious stubbornness kept him from staying down. They could not return from this mission empty handed. "The girl..." He panted, staggering to his feet, "get...the girl!" Through the force, he shoved at Ferrus, intending to crush him into the nearest solid structure.

Shaking off the residue of the rumble, the female snarled and dashed off after Nyx.

Slamming against the wall hard, Ferrus fell onto his knees after the impact, holding himself up with his hammer. He spat a bit of bloddnout of his mouth as he glared at the Sith duo. Seeing the woman start dash off, Ferrus threw his hammer at the woman in hopos he would trip her up, giving Esther more time.

Readjusting his gaze on the brute, Ferrus started to advance slowly towards him saber at the ready. The Sith was staggering and Ferrus hoped this fight wouldn't last to much longer. "Come on you, Sith scum. Come meet your Maker." Ferrus taunted the Sithbin hopes of inciting a rage that would leave him open for a killing blow.

The mammoth sith sneered at Ferrus's display of blood, seeming smug the glancing blow he had inflicted. However, expression fell at the sight of his companion tumbling to the floor, Ferrus's hammer had struck its target.

"Come on you, Sith scum. Come meet your Maker."

Brandishing his saber once more, the Sith charged with a mighty roar, "You first, Jedi."

The Sith was overconfident, believing Ferrus was disadvantaged now that he only had his single saber to fight with; in many battles, the sith had confused and overwhelmed his opponents, striking with one blade before then striking with the opposite end in a flourishing movement. He would disembowel the Jedi and apprehend the girl himself. And if his partner continued to be a hindrance, well, he'd just kill her too.
