It was quiet, very quiet, as was to be expected in the cavernous training room in the Great Jedi Temple on Ossus. A slight disturbance, such as a small pebble moving or a subtle chanege in the air current in the room, could be heard by it's sole occupant. A young Jedi by the name of Avero Nevari, who, upon being accepted by another Jedi for training, was told to wait in the room, and if he arrived early, to meditate and center himself. And so he did. He had been in this room for over six hours now. Avero had woken early, due to a nightmare. He had dressed with the nightmare still fresh in his mind, and as he clipped his lightsaber to his belt, a gruesome image flashed into his mind, the image of his mother's death. He had walked to the training room with his mind troubled, but thanks to the time he had available to him, meditated and let the nightmare, and the image, drift from his conscious mind, and was now fully in tune with the force. He could feel the life around him, see movements that no one could see normally, and most importantly, Avero felt a sense of peace.

Cade walked slowly down the corridors of the temple, to meet his new apprentice. Today he wore his brown cloak over his beige, sleeveless tunic, the hood up leaving the blindfold over his eyes in shadow. He walked in and looked at his new apprentice, meditating, in the Force. He was a miraluka and that was the only way he could see anyone. He observed him for a while before speaking.

"I am Cade Varr, your new master," he said, taking a seat, "and first of all I would like you to tell me about yourself; what has happened to you and who you are."

Avero's eyes slowly opened and took in the sight of his new master, Cade Varr. Taking a deep, calm breath, he spoke.
"I am Avero Nevari. I, like you am a Jedi, I came to this temple after the death of my parents. I was a slave to a hutt, as were they. At an early age I discovered my force powers. I used them to disturb the hutt's guests, until my powers were recognized by another force sensitive man. I did not know it at the time, so I did the same to him as all the others. He realized that I could use the force, and attempted to kill me. But my father stopped him, and was killed instead."
He paused for a moment, and the sight of his father's muder flooded his mind. He banished the thought, and with another deep breath, continued his story.
"When my father was slain, my mother screamed, and she too was killed. At the sight of her death...I....I lost control of my force powers. I blacked out, and when I regained my senses my parent's killers were dead, and I was weak. For a fortnight I was imprisoned for my acts. And on the last day of my imprisonment, I was to be executed. A jedi was in the crowd around the execution platform, he saved me, and brought me here. And I have trained here since then. That is the story of my life until now master Cade."

"You have answered my first question," said Cade, "and I will discover the answers to my second in time. For now I want you to come with me."

He stood up and led him into the vast gardens of the temple and sat on the ground.

"Meditate with me and sink into the Force. Look through this new persepctive and tell me what you see."

"Yes Master Cade."
Avero said, closing his eyes and opening his mind to the force.

"Feel the eddies and currents of the Force flowing through the life of the gardens, what do you see?"

"I can see light, flowing through all things, a sort of, current passing from one thing to the next. I can hear it's gentle flow. What is it that I see Master Cade?"
He said, his eyes still shut.

"You're seeing the Force flow through the living things in the garden," he said, "look at the other Jedi and feel them in the Force, see the trees and the small animals around the ponds. Do you see?"

"Now look at me," he said, "and tell me what you see. What emotions? What traits? What imprints?"

"I can see an extremely large amount of force energy, and I can see you as I would with my own eyes, but at the same time, it's different. I can feel your calmness, among other small details."

"Look beneath that," he said slowly, "can you see the person I am? Do you see any of my life, my past my emotion?"

"No master, I cannot. Perhaps you can teach me to see what lies beneath the surface?"
Avero said, shrugging slightly.

"You must just look deeper," he said, "let the Force take you and it will show you. But you can work on that in your own time. For now, I would like you to tell me how you interpret each of the eight tenets."

"The eight tenants master Cade?" Avero said, confused.

"The eight tenets of the Jedi Order," said Cade, "surely as a youngling you studied such things? They, and the code, are the most crucial parts to understanding the role of the Jedi Order; surely you know them?"
