It was a relatively calm night in the Coronet restaurant. The restaurant was like many other ones : What with a bar in the center surrounded by several and booths. The back of the restaurant featured an entrance way to a balcony overlooking the Coronet skyline. Berric was sitting alone at a table shortly after arriving whilst awaiting for his date to arrive.
He looked around at the other patrons and waiters while twiddling with his glass of Coreillian wine and occasionally taking a sip from the glass. Berric was a tad nervous but also optimistic about the date. Throughout his life he's never really 'dated' all too much.Although this was different, He was in a decent mood for the date and thought it would hopefully turn out well.Though mentally he was prepared conversation topics and questions of all sorts. Thought Berric, overall remained calm and knew the night would turn out decent enough.

Yeah this for the blind date thing......yeah.

Ebberla Daw sat quietly in the Taxi cab, well as quietly as an annoyed Force sensitive could be, she was certain if anyone talented in such ways could feel the uneasiness from the Jedi Master. She thought this was the worst prank ever, a blind date. If she were to find who ever even dared to think this idea up, she was surely going to have some words with them and probably drive them through oncoming traffic on Coruscant.

It had been a while since she was on Coronet however, she herself was a native Corellian and proudly stuck to it. It was hard for her not to as a lot of her mannerisms distinctly placed her under people's assumption she was Corellian, and not to mention, her accent drew her out from the crowds. The woman quickly made sure her make up was touched up, looking from every angle in her compact. She adjusted her bangs and tucked back a lock of her dark hair behind her ear and stepped out of the cab when it pulled up to the restaurant. She left the cab a fare and entered the restaurant, she had no clue who this guy was, at least she hoped it was a guy.

She stood quietly in her green sleeveless cocktail dress, letting herself submerge in the Force, by the stars if Thaed knew where she was at and what she was doing, the looming thought dawned on her. However, she did recall seeing him with a hooker in his lap. He had nothing on her. A waiter approached her and directed her to a table, where her date already sat. She flashed a smile to the man and held out her hand for them to shake as the waiter helped her with her seat.

"Jed-" Ebb stopped herself, "Ebberla Daw." she said avoiding her title for now.

Berric was looking at other parts of the restaurant while sipping a glass of Coreillian wine when he turned to see Ebberla smiling at him. He couldn't help but force a smile back at her as she approached the table. Now after finally seeing his date Berric knew that this most likely wouldn't turn out badly as he was holding in thoughts that there was going to be a practical joke played on him. When she got to the table Berric accepted her handshake and introduced himself,
"Kelso, Berric Kelso." as he got up and pulled a chair out from the opposite end of the table for her to sit.

"Pleasure to meet you Berric." Ebberla said, allowing him to help her with her seat. The waiter came back and poured Ebberla a glass of the Corellian wine. She took a quick sip, giving a gentle nudge of the Force to relax her nerves.

"Its been a while since I've been back on Coronet," she started, opening conversation, "Every time I come back everything seems a little more different than before. Though, I'm sure it hasn't changed at all, maybe grown some, but its still the Jewel of Corellia."

The Jedi spoke, her fingers tracing the foot of the wine glass before taking another sip. Her eyes briefly left the Corellian in front of her, taking in quickly of her surroundings.

"Do you live here in Coronet City?" Ebb asked him.

"I...Well I used to" , Berric said as he was taking his seat and placing his left hand on his glass of Coreillian wine.

"I was born here and served in Coreillian Security for nine years once I turned eighteen as a pilot, I actually left not too long ago. Well...what about you?" , Berric was still a bit nervous but did his best to keep a normal tone.

A pilot, that didn't surprise Ebberla as she gave him a small smirk. The waiter came back, asking if they were ready to order. Ebbs was starving and felt as though she was a little too quick to express enthusiasm in eating, she ordered a fancy nerf plate, not exactly sure what it was, but she was certain it beat rations and the cafeteria food served at the temples.

She waited for the pilot to order and for the waiter to leave them be before she answered his question on her.

"Well, no. I did grow up on Corellia before I found myself in mischief. My residence currently though is on Empress Teta, though I have temporary quarters on Tython too. However, its rare I spend time there, I'm a Jedi and my focus takes me all throughout the galaxy." she said and then took a quick sip of wine; she was slightly hesitant to tell him she was a Jedi early on in the evening, she held some fools hope she didn't need to tell him. However, the spukama was out of the bag.

Berric placed his order for a bantha steak, Berric was somewhat hungry.

"A jedi?....that...wow, I was not expecting that" He said with a slight chuckle
before taking a sip of wine.
"Also I guess it wouldn't be harm to tell you i'm in Rogue Wing, Haven't flown any combat missions quite yet though."

Ebberla took a sip of her wine, nodding as she listened. She always had that reaction when people found out she was Jedi, however, usually was quickly followed by blaster fire, table flipping, running away and her giving chase. It definitely was a nice change of pace, however, she couldn't deny the sudden feel of tension in her muscles as she would have anticipated for some to take off.

"Rogue Wing? Impressive." the Jedi smiled, "I'd imagine you have impressive flight record to be a part of that. Combat or not, any cool flight stories you can share or are they all 'if I tell you, I would have to kill you' type of things?" she asked him, with a hint of flirt in her voice. She swirled the wine in her glass flashing him a wry grin.

After taking a sip of wine and chuckling a little bit he spoke again.
"Well not really I mean I did a few somewhat high speed missions in CorSec but mainly it was just patrolling the skies with my squadron but one day i decided to leave and decided to send in my application for Rogue Wing then I guess after nine years of flight experience I was accepted. But well mainly we only dealt with spice smugglers that were too dumb to cover their tracks. Well other that we didn't too much besides sit around and play Pazaak."

and after smiling and taking another dink he spoke once again. "Well what about being a jedi that's got to be much more interesting then stopping a few dumb thugs everyday, right?"

Ebberla smirked when he did and took a sip of her wine. The waiter passed by with another table's meal, it smelled so good, causing her stomach to rumble quietly. Though when Kelso had made the comment of being a Jedi was more interesting, she wasn't quite sure how to respond to that. As she saw what she did, was only her duty, she was certain someone like Kelso probably thought it would be more exciting than what he would do from day to day.

The Jedi shrugged, "I wouldn't call it too interesting, its always a surprise what I do from day to day. Though I put myself on a little hiatus from going into field work. I've had my fair share of battles and duels...for now, never know how long that will last. However, I will admit, I do have my boring days, where I'm required to sit around and meditate." she gave a small chuckle, she sincerely hated sitting and meditating.

Berric took another sip of wine as he waited for Ebberlq to finish talking and waiting of course for his food to arrive. Berric wasn't too hungry when he first walked into the restaurant, after smelling the food and seeing other tables get their food he began to get hungry and couldn't wait for the food to arrive." Huh...it can't be worse then diplomacy, all the alliance has sent for me to do is talk to some kid leading something called "The Freedom Fighters" but I guess yah just gotta deal with it. "

Berric chuckled to himself as he finished off his glass of wine and placed it on the table.

The waiter arrived in a timely manner with their food, setting down a plate before the Jedi and the pilot. Ebberla's gaze took itself beyond where her date sat to another group of people a few tables away. The Force poked at her senses, and she must have made a face due to the waiter asking if her food looked alright.

The Jedi laughed and nodded, and indeed it looked very appetizing to her. She glanced quickly back, her eyes unfortunately caught the stare of another who was looking out at from the table. The waiter refilled their wine glasses and Ebbs thanked him.

"Freedom Fighters, I heard the Council and the Alliance's report on them. We need all the help we can get. The Imperium is relentless and we're not doing too well after losing the territory north of the Hutts." she said bringing her attention back to Kelso, "Though it may seem petty and boring, I'm sure it was large help. Though as pilot, I'm sure not being in the cockpit of a Rogue all else seems mundane." she joked cutting a small portion of her food and taking a bite.

Just in time, the waiter had arrived. Berric only grew hungrier as the night went on but of course his hunger would be satisfied. Berric never really noticed of anyone staring at the table and since Ebberla made no alarm he never noticed anything out of the ordinary at. As Ebb started to speak again he took a sip of wine from his newly filled glass and took his eyes off his food and on to her.

"Yeah I guess we do need all of the help we can get at this point and I do have to admit every time I leave the cockpit I almost die a little inside.", Berric said jokingly though in a way he was like all other pilots. He only felt truly comfortable in the cockpit, in space doing his job. There was no where else he liked to be more which I guess is something most other pilots would say. Of course after speaking Berric couldn't help but drive his fork and knife into the bantha steak and eat away, since he had gotten all too much to eat all day.

The food tasted splendid to Ebberla, it beat the rations she ate while on missions or the stuff they called food served at the temples. She ate happily though her senses still tugged at the table in the distance; she kept weary of it, but also kept her focus on her date.

"Well, we can't be having you get too cheeky in that cockpit. Its good to get your feet on the ground." she responded, then took another bite of her food, "Though I don't like being on the ground for too long so I can relate. I used to be a smuggler per say before I joined the Jedi, so the stars are like a second home to me."

The Jedi fell silent, letting it settle as the two of them enjoyed their food and wine, to which the Jedi Master certainly concluded other worlds wash down their imports of Corellian wines. The Force pulled at her senses, the steady waves were now becoming rougher and unbalance rose in the room. An even ripple crossed the Jedi and quickly followed was a man who had left the table Ebb had taken a liking to.

She could feel his fear, worry, angst; it tore through the restrurant, even causing other people to draw their attention to him. Though they would only return to their meals, Ebberla sensed something was wrong. She kept calm as she took another delightful bite of her food before excusing herself.

Lady's room.” She smiled getting up from the table and headed towards the refresher.

The Jedi cloaked herself with the Force, rendering herself invisible as she passed the refresher and the kitchen and into a back hall with some rooms. She felt a pull to her left and followed it and she got nearer she heard voices, angry and frightened. She decided to listen in as she kept a look out for other passing beings.

"Well I don't mind too much being out of the cockpit, plus I have ground combat experience.", Berric said before driving his fork into his meal for another bite. This is was the best meal Berric has consumed in a while and wasn't too hard for him to tell that Ebberla was also enjoying her meal. He sat in silence, enjoying his meal and occasionally getting a sip of wine between each bite. Berric had never been too fond of dates but from his perspective he thought it was going pretty well, nothing unusual has happened or at least nothing from Berric's point of view. could tell, making good conversation, good food. It was turning out to be a good night.

Soon enough Ebb excused herself and replied just a simple, "Alright then.". He just continued to eat at the table alone and as a waiter passed by he couldn't help but to finish his glass of wine and request for it to be refilled. He took the time alone to pull out his personal datapad from his coat pocket and browse the holonet to perhaps check the news events of the day.

His name was Tomas Fuse: husband, father, successful small business owner and now in trouble with Hart Lemire, one of the most feared mob bosses in Coronet.

The room was silent as Lemire fiddled with his pistol, leaning against his desk as he did so. Tomas was drenched in his own sweat, he feared what was going to happen, he knew what was going to happen, he ignorantly thought though this would have never have happened to him. The man dared a shift in his seat, his bare forearms peeled away from the bantha leather arm rests. Lemire shot a look at him and Tomas froze.

“You told us that story last week Tomas.” Lemire said standing straight.

“I know I did, but it’s the truth, I cannot get any more credits, business is slow, this war is driving away customers.” The man spoke, his voice shaking.

“Then that’s when you look for a new approach, anything for a sale? Correct?”

“Y-y-yes…”

“So no sales this week?” Lemire asked, Tomas shook his head, “No credits for me this week?” Tomas shook his head again. The mob boss looked at his counter parts in the room; they smirked agreeing with Lemire, no words need to have been spoken.

Outside the room of course, was Jedi Master Ebberla Daw. Having lied about having to use the refresher, her attention had brought her to the right place, her ear pressed against the door in of the room, her senses heightened by the power of the Force, the Jedi waited for her moment. She reached deeply touching the strings of life that filled the room, she could sense each individual, where they stood, how they felt, she was surprised there was no look out.

Though of course, with that thought, she looked back down either side of the hall. No one.

“You know I hate doing this.” Lemire started, Tomas whimpered, “But you’re costing me credits.” The man begun begging. Ebberla closed her eyes and pulled on the Force, listening to its whispers, listening to the man’s whimpered begs turn into pleas.

The lock panel on the door beeped, turning green and slid open, Ebberla stumbled inside, cocktail dress and heels, and she gave a bashful smile as all eyes were now on her, including their blasters.

Oh!” she exclaimed, “This is clearly not the lady’s room.” Her hazel eyes quickly scanned the room, everyone was at a loss for words except for Lemire, whose anger pulsated against her.

“Clearly not.” Lemire growled and nodded his head to Ebb, “Guys show her to the Lady’s room.”

Yes, please.” Ebberla stated raising both her hands showing a sign of surrender. However, the Jedi was not ready to surrender and instead emitted a blinding flash of light from her body, blinding the men in the room.

They all yelled in disgust and begun shooting in her general direction, Lemire cried out for them to stop as a blaster bolt sizzled the arm of his suite. He stumbled around, feeling for his desk and eventually finding the silent alarm beneath the ledge.

The Jedi moved, the Force directing her path through the traffic of confused blaster bolts. She grabbed Tomas’ wrist and pulled him with her, obviously blinded also, and very confused to the situation. He yelled and slapped her a few times before she pulled him out into the hall and pushed him forcefully against the wall.

Trust me, I’m a Jedi.” She said and the man seemed to have taken her words well, calming himself for what she thought would be acceptable. There was disturbance in the Force as more men appeared. “Let’s go!” Ebb said pushing the man in front of her, luckily Tomas didn’t hesitate, Ebb followed quickly with him.

“You blinded me! I can’t see!” he complained as she pushed him around a corner.

Your eye sight will return, though what did I say? I’m a Jedi, trust what I’m doing, ok?

“If you’re a Jedi, where is your laser sword?” he asked rubbing his eyes

At home.” She said peeking around the corner, the men had disappeared and the woman frowned. She looked back at Tomas and knocked his palms from rubbing his eyes. “Just follow my lead.

Ebberla took his hand and lead him back pass the way she came originally, eventually entering back into the restaurant itself. The restaurant was still full of patrons, enjoying their meals and drinks, oblivious to what was happening in a hallway near them. The rooms must have been sound proof or else everyone would have cleared out by now. Ebbs approached her table where Berric was still sitting with Tomas.

Hi. Berric, this is…” Ebb nudged the man with her elbow.

“Tomas.” He spoke now blinking wildly.

Tomas is in a wee bit of trouble and so am I, we’re probably going to have some thugs…” Ebb caught a glimpse of some more men rising from a nearby table, “A good number of them. Are you any good with a blaster?” she asked Berric.

The holonet news network contained the usual, perhaps a Galactic Alliance defeat followed by propaganda, actual news maybe. It's usually a different kind of deal each visit. Soon enough the waiter Berric had requested to top off his glass of wine had arrived with an empty glass and an opened bottle of Corellian Wine atop a metal tray. Berric thanked the waiter as he placed the glass and bottle on the table and refilled Berric's glass before setting the bottle back on to the table and walking off with the metal tray.

The time continued to pass, Berric began to grow worry over such things like,...what if she left? Though being worrisome he knew deep down problems were going to solve themselves and there was nothing to worry about. He took a sip of wine from the glass the waiter had poured and continue to browse the holonet on his datapad. A little more time passed by when Ebberla and the stranger at her side appeared at the table. He looked from his datapad up at the two as soon as she greeted Berric. After the stranger spoke his name Berric decided to respond with an uncertain.

"Um....alright."

Then Ebb told Berric about the thug problem and how both her and Tomas were in trouble. Berric found this very...very strange, but in a city like Coronet anything is bound to happen and from living here for the better half of his life Berric certainly knew that. When he noticed the men rising from their seats at another table Berric's past finally contacted his brain. Berric remembered his time in Cor Sec, apprehending criminals and such. Deep down he was more excited then confused or worried it was time to do what he did for a while..once again. Once Ebb asked Berric if he was good with a blaster he laughed on the inside after finishing the rest of the glass of wine. I mean...he had revealed that he was in Cor-Sec for nine years of course he would be good with a blaster, and he was. He put the datapad back in his coat pocket where of course he had a conceal blaster holstered in just in case of this situation and he felt an obligation to still defend Coronet's streets as not only was this his home city but he was a former Security Officer in these very streets.

"Of Course I am, let's go", Berric said in reply to Ebb's question as he got up from the table and adjusted his black coat.

The Jedi smiled to Berric's reply, "Good, you're going to get to show off your skills here."

A ripple in the Force turned Ebberla's attention to the hall Tomas and her exited from, Lemire's men had arrived, their eyes still wide, blinking hard, but ready to fight. She could feel their annoyance and the overall frustration that a Jedi like her had caused them. The dining hall was eerie silence as the patrons took notice to the armed men, their thoughts confused as to what was happening until it was meant by a woman's scream pointing out they had their blasters drawn.

The restaurant was met with the chaos of people trying to get out. Ebb rolled her eyes in the panic, Tomas felt the need to panic also and tried running off, but with a gentle tug, the Jedi Master pulled him back to where she stood. However, the sight of seeing Tomas trying to run triggered the thugs to fire their weapons. Blaster fire and smoke filled the room quickly.

"Get cover!" Ebb yelled and jerked Tomas to follow her, he didn't hesitate to follow her lead. She danced her way through the plasma bolts until it was too much for her to keep Tomas safe, "Hide behind something!" she cried out over the blaster fire pushing Tomas into a table. The man stumbled backwards, but was quick to the thought as he pushed down the table and lied flat behind it, covering his head.

The Jedi moved, cursing her heals and the lack of motion she held in her outfit, the Force welled up inside her, quickly picking out the man with good aim she threw him into the other hallway thugs. Their yells of surprise caught the attention of the table thugs.

"Great date by the way!" Ebb said to Berric as she passed him to handle the hallway thugs, "Remind me to thank who ever set us up!"

Berric had gotten up from his seat and made sure that his blaster pistol was still there where he left it,in the holster under his coat. He took it out with his right hand and checked to make sure it was ready to fire on a moment's notice. He took his right hand holding the blaster and continued to hide it under his coat until one woman decided to release an ear piercing scream, warning of the thugs that had just entered the restaurant. Berric couldn't be subtle anymore and he gave up hiding his blaster and instead gripping it with both of his hands and doing what he could to get rid of them. In the corner of his eye he saw Ebberla and the stranger finding their way through the blaster fire and Berric felt he didn't need to worry about either of them, she was a jedi Berric wer as sure she could handle her self in these situations. It was Tomas he needed to worry about, even though he knows very little of the story he is the reason that Berric is on the brink of death.

After firing a few shots at the thugs Berric slowly moved back to Ebb and Tomas while trying to do his best to drive the gangsters back into cover themselves with suppressing fire. After Ebb forced pushed the enemies moving from the hallway to the restaurant which caused them to tremble into each other he decided to used this time of less oncoming suppressing fire to get behind cover himself after releasing a blaster bolt into one of the thugs from the tables causing him to fall backwards to his death, onto his meal. Berric hid behind the table sticking his head up to take pot shots at the thugs. He was only concentrating on clearing out the room or at least enough to escape until Ebberla made the sarcastic comment on the way this whole night was going. Over the sound of exchaning blaster fire he managed to reply to it. "Yeah, this is probably why I don't date often!" Well he was being honest in a way. Berric hasn't ever been too good with dating or romance, anything of that nature really so he is mostly prone to avoid it. He went back to defending their table from all of the approaching thugs, dropping a few blaster bolts into them if they tried to approach.

"Its good to know this isn't entirely my fault then!" she laughed.

With a simple tug of the Force, Ebberla now held her own weapon; obtaining one lost from a thug's grip from their fall. Those still standing broke their aim between the Jedi and the Pilot. Ebberla ducked down behind an overturned table, shielding herself momentarily from the blaster fire. She reached into the Force, detecting the life presences in the room, however, there was one she didn't feel. She reached around and fired a few more distracting shots then quickly made her way to where Tomas was supposed to be hiding.

He wasn't there, the Jedi let out a curse.

A blaster bolt burned the table next to her and her attention fell back on the thugs that were shooting at her, gaining cover behind the structure she peeked out, however, Lemire would catch her eye. The Corellian Jedi furrowed her brow, he knew what had happened and he quickly darted back into the hallway.

"Tomas is gone!" Ebberla cried out to Berric and wasted no time as she exited the dinning hall also.

The Jedi Master reached into the Force, looking for the distinct signature of Tomas or any signs of a disturbance. The Force whispered in her ears as she rounded the corners of the building, taking her outside, pausing, listening. A shadow catching the corner of her eye, Ebberla followed, taking her around to the side ally of the restaurant.

Tomas slowed his pace as Ebberla approached him, however, they weren't alone, Lemire was there to meet them also. He walked up to Tomas who immediately put his hands up, the mob boss had his blaster pulled and pressed against Tomas' side.

"Put your weapon down Jedi." Lemire hissed, "No tricks either this time." The Jedi frowned, but complied, setting the weapon down on the ground and stood back up, she could feel Tomas' heart thump out of his chest and Lemire's smug smile as he watched her, "Good girl." he said, but unknown for Lemire Ebb was immersed in the Force, her eyes flickered behind the mob boss and she grinned, "Oh? You're little boyfriend is here too?"

Lemire turned his body to face the both, believing he had heard foot steps approaching, however, the man was fooled. It was enough of a distraction for the Jedi as Lemire quickly turned back to face her with Tomas. The blaster snapped back to her hand and the straight shot Corellian caught the mobster just beneath his eye before he opened his mouth to say another word.

Lemire fell backwards dead, Tomas fell forward from the shock and fear, and Ebberla lowered her weapon.
