First and foremost, this is a PvE thread. There's a lot of pirates to butcher, flambe, and destroy, and some truly wicked mcnasty shit to fight after the pirates are roasty toasty cinder-men. So try not to kill each other, as that'd make me awfully unhappy with you. And you don't want rocks to fall from the heavens and flatten everyone, do ya?
Second, this is set several days after 'In Dark Places', which is Episode 2 of Makura Rising - Season 2. It can be assumed that the characters involved in S2E2 are wrapping up their business on Wazta/Koda Station at this time - if you want to use a character from Episode 2, PM me first, please!
Third - While this is an open thread, I strongly discourage participation from Sith and Imperial characters. Cuthbern is a galaxy away from Imperial space, so if you're bent on playing with us then please send me a PM so we can sort out the how and why of how you got to our little slice of heaven. You must do this prior to joining.
tl;dr - if your character is Sith or Imperial, then treat this as an [ASK] thread. PM me if you want in!
For others, specifically Indie and Jedi/Rebel characters, Cuthbern is isolated. It's been abandoned for about a thousand years, so it's probably faded from most people's memory by now. That said, the 'Crimson Raider' pirates have been made a part of the Makura Rising storyarc, and it's been mentioned that they've butted heads with the Hutts before. Chasing down a group of slaves or weapons held by the CR could be a good way to get involved.
So that's one inroad you can use. A few others spring to mind - maybe you're a gunrunner trading with the pirates. Maybe you've been boarded and captured, maybe you're just poking around searching for a place to lay low. There's a lot you can do that'll get you planetside reasonably. Being on-planet barhunting and hitting 'gentlemen's' clubs isn't reasonable - dead world, no strippers or booze anywhere outside the pirate encampment, pretty boring place overall, y'know?
Anyways. I'd prefer indies to not be aligned with the pirates, since it'll be easier to get you involved with the cast of Makura Rising if you're not one of the meanyfaces shooting at them. (It'll also increase your chances of living - getting shot with railguns isn't exactly pleasurable, you know!)
Feel free to take limited control over pirate NPC's if you need to kill one off or have some dialogue or action or whatever in your post - I only ask that you don't take control of 'Named' NPC's, or non-pirate NPC's. That includes the Makuran Marines present in-thread. Plz dun touch the kitties, they don't like it.
Beyond that, I'm open to any questions, comments, and suggestions you've got.
another tl;dr
If you're Indie, Jedi, or Rebel, this is an [OPEN] thread. You can control pirate NPC's who don't have a name, but not Makuran Marine NPC's/fighters.
If you need help getting into the thread, PM me. I'll bury you in so many ideas you won't know which way's up. Then I'll bury you in completely irrelevant .gif's because that's just my thing now.
