OOC: Open to anyone that wants to jump in: friendlies and enemies alike!

Ravara Veren set her macrobinoculars down on the ground next to her on the roof and rubbed a gauntleted hand across her face. The day had been busy already, and it felt as though it had only just gotten started. Business was decent, but after the recent debacle that was losing her ship and partners, she needed assets and she needed them with some level of urgency. And she certainly wasn't above stealing.

So that was precisely what she planned to do. Besides, did anyone care if you stole from the "bad guys." By all reports, the building across the street was a stash house for a swoop gang that had decided it wanted to encroach on the Cartel's territory. The fact that it was an excused kill was perfect for her. Maybe she could even bring in some money for the job on top of whatever she stole.

The place looked well-guarded, and she didn't plan on hitting it today, but a job like this where she was horridly outnumbered required no small amount of planning to make it out alive. This wasn't the glorious part of the job, but it was part of the job, and she liked not dying. With the word out about this little gang, she half wondered if there would be anyone else trying to jump in on this little job as well.

Jans Winther watched the warehouse from a roof across the street, ducking and covered on his dark hooded robes. The over all landscape of this world had a more reddish tone, but he felt confident enough that, dressed like this and all the way up a building, he would be camuflaged enough.

For now.

Soon, he would need to move out of the safety of shadows and gather the credits and resources he needed to continue on his journey. Venturing around the galaxy on his own was a tempting and glamorous idea, but the secrets he sought rested in rather unique and uncharted places, and one could only go so far without a fat pocket. So, for now, his scholar vocations would need to wait for him to restock. And what better way than to hit a gang hideout? In case sneaking did not work, thugs tended to be absolutely frightened by a little display of force... or a display of the Force.

He memorized the area around, just in case he underestimated the foe and needed to run when he did the deed. Studied the building he planned on hitting. The movement of the men in it--mostly erratic. Okay, it would probably not be easy, but he bet he could at least get a safe or a load of deathsticks and come back out unnoticed.

He stood up straight. Okay, that would be easy, he would just wait until a less active time of the day and keep a low profile until then. He could do th...

Jans froze as he turned to leave. On a roof not far from his own, he saw a woman. She wasn't just watching the people down on the street or fixing some leak on the ceiling, she was watching. He could tell. The question was: what was she watching? Had she seen him? Well, if she did, he could be in trouble. If she didn't, now it would be a matter of time.

With his hand falling pointlessly to where his lightsaber would have been two weeks ago, he cursed silently as he started running to the roof's edge and took a fluid leap to the top of the next building, feeling his body lighter as the Force propelled him past the gap. He landed firmly and resumed his advance as if the jump never happened, just to take another one that took him to where the woman stood.

And then he realized he had no idea why he did that. He could Force push her down the edge just to be certain, but he could be killing someone for no reason. Worse than that, he could be killing a possible ally. There was a more civilized way to go around this sittuation.

"Hello, there. Lovely night for bird watching, huh," he asked on a tone far too serious for a conversation about bird watching.

Credits. Max was practically rolling in it. He had just gone from completely poor to awesomely rich. That was a different job, this was a new one. Max was strolling on the grounds of Nar Shadda. Hand on his blaster pistol, he didn’t trust anyone here. There was a woman. A woman Max spotted on a nearby roof, looking at a warehouse from across the street. This is interesting. Max decided to wait and watch. Whatever this girl had in mind, it was not good, and Max loved doing not good things.

Thabo was still a newbie in the Hutt game and he needed to be ambitious if he wanted to rise the ranks. That meant finding jobs in which to enforce the will of the Cartel, before being told it exists. Opportunity in Hutt Space wasn't handed out for free. Rumor in the streets was that a bold, possibly stupid, gang was pushing for more turf on the Smuggler's Moon. This was one of the opportunities he had to jump on before it became an official slap on the wrist from the Cartel. If he showed the Vigos he could take initiative they would look to him for better work in the future.

Once the Kuati arrived on the scene, he noticed quickly that a few shady figures were casing the joint already. It shouldn't be a surprise that other hungry Basadi would be trying to get in on the action. A quiet thought crept into the back of his mind. What if he let them try first? Thabo could clean up the rest and if some poor Cartel hopeful gets caught in the cross fire... well, no one would be suspicious at all. To his left though, he saw two standing together who stood out like sore thumbs. Maybe a team starting to assemble for the job. That would be harder to clean up and claim than a few messy individuals. Working with others was more fun anyways, even if it meant splitting the spoils and fame. Thabo decided to make the trip quietly up the roof of the same building, keeping his weapons away for now. If they turned against him he had his armor and quick access to them still.

"Smells like a plan is cooking up here," he said quietly as he approached, trying not to startle those gathered or alert eavesdroppers.

If it were not for the helmet, they would see a big grin on Thabo's face. He loved a good set up and assault. It was likely clear he was equipped for the job as well with the covering armor, large rifle strapped to his back, stun button clipped to the belt, and pair of pistols holstered at the hip all ready for battle. The get-up clearly shouted 'Hutt Enforcer', but he didn't mind. Three Hunt-aligned fighters with a good plan could clear out some scummy swoop gang. Especially if some stragglers decided to join them when things got hot, as he was sure they would. A few odd folks seemed to be wandering this area with no goal in sight. That was a clear sign of someone casing the place. How many were swoop security, how many were Cartel, and how many were just sad locals? It would be hard to tell until the heat turned up but then sides would become clear pretty quickly.

Rav slipped her macros away, not failing to notice those who were approaching. Most notably, was the man who approached her directly, leaping across a gap that shouldn't have been possible and immediately screamed "saber jockey" to the Mandalorian. Her instinct was to reach for her blaster and start giving a pounding before she reminded herself that the Cartel was now closely allied with half the saber wielders out there, so finding out where this one fell was a better option than opening fire immediately. Not to mention she didn't want to blow her cover.

Still, her left hand rested obviously but not offensively on the handle of her blaster as the man approached, talking about birds. You need something? she asked, eyes narrowing but head still on a swivel in case this guy had friends.

Almost as soon as she'd finished saying that, a new guy arrived. Another person she didn't recognize and she was starting to wonder if she was being jumped here. She mentally cursed herself for not keeping her helmet on and half wondered if this was going to devolve into a firefight, but no one had drawn weapons yet. She grabbed her helmet, head up and hand still at her hip as she stood back up.

A plan for what? she asked. Are you two planning on mugging me? Because that might not end so well for all of us, she said. Nar Shaddaa was a rough and tumble place, but then, she didn't exactly look like an easy target decked out in armor and full weaponry. Not to mention, she did have the backing of the Cartel technically. She may have been a peon for now, but the Cartel didn't appreciate the death of its people. @Cazar @Winter The Dolphin

All the Kuati could do at this point was chuckle. The full skirmisher armor and weaponry certainly had an intimidation factor to them. If he was wrong about these two gathered up, and it turned into a fight, he was ready. He casually rested his hands at his hips, conveniently very close to his twin pistols. If this girl was going to get defensive Thabo was going to be ready too. The other one apparently was not with her either as she accused the two of them of being muggers. They had never met, nor intended to do such a thing. At least Thabo wasn't intending that. He doubted the other guy came up here alone just to try to mug an armored and armed woman on a rooftop. They had to be here for the same reason he was.

"Mug you? I don't know him, and if I was mugging you, I wouldn't give you a chance to draw first." His statement wasn't meant to be aggressive so much as mockingly sarcastic.

The other man seemed like the dark and edgy type. Robes, acrobatics, and boldness like that usually came from the Jedi and their kind. There was no way to be certain, but it certainly was a thought in the back of Thabo's mind for now. A dark Jedi lightsaber would fetch him a good bounty on top of notoriety in the Cartel. Accidents happen when you do unsanctioned jobs. Unless he saw the weapon itself he probably wouldn't act on it at all, but he was suspicious to say the least. The girl in armor at least was easy enough to label. Bold, blunt, and wore Mandalorian armor. Anyone could spot that the moment she revealed the helmet. A Mandalorian on Nar Shaddaa had to mean Cartel Hunter or Enforcer. At least he hoped that was the case.

"You're here for the same reason I am. Rumors. Credits. Maybe impress a Vigo?" Thabo noted teasingly, keeping an eye on the lesser known variable still. "What about you, robed stranger?"

If this was about to become a fight, he was fairly confident it would come from this robed stranger before it came from the Mandalorian. It seems this guy tried to intercept her casing the joint. Maybe she was lucky to have the backup, or maybe he was unlucky to find Swoop Gang mercenaries. Either way he kept his hands ready to draw and his feet ready to move.

Jans was still cooking up an answer for the woman he now identified as a mandalorian when yet another man showed up out of the blue. It was getting pretty crowded for a rooftop, but he was thankful for the intrusion as it bought him time to figure out what he should really do next. Taking a few steps back, the rogue jedi moved to a position from which he could face both of the strangers at the same time. He should have expected the lady to have company. How stupid of him.

Then she answered the newly arrived man, suggesting she was just as surprised as Jans himself about the most recent appearance. None of them seemed to be willing to state their business, and yet they all seemed curious about each other's intentions. The man, fortunately, broke the trend, stating what he believed to be the mandalorian's goal. Very interesting, by the way. What Jans had hoped for, if he was right. Then, of course, the attention turned to him. He owed them an explanation.

"Credits," he shrugged. "Don't judge, a man's gotta eat. Now, if you're here for the same reason as me," he pointed at the man, "and you're here for the same reason as him," he pointed at the woman, "I believe we have just formed a conspiracy. Jans Winther," he offered an open palm to whoever would shake it. "I'm a simple man, so don't worry about my share. Whatever gets me as far as Vrogas Vas and back and feeds me until then will do."

More people continued to enter the scene with two men approaching the woman on the roof. It appeared they did not know each other, but were introducing themself’s. Max needed as many allies as he could get, so he decided to take a stroll up to the roof. Entering the roof, Max had his hand on his blaster not knowing what these strangers would do to another person intruding in their conversation. “Hello there... I hope I didn’t intrude on business matters. I am Max Hithor, and have noticed your special interest in the swoop gang warehouse across the street. I can assure you that I am not part of their group, I am quite the opposite, I am en enforcer within the Hutt Cartel, and wish to expand the influence of the Cartel.” Max would usually extend his hand, giving a firm handshake to the person he was addressing, it usually gave off a good first impression. In this situation however, he could not for he did not know or trust either person.

She quickly slapped her helmet back on with one hand, letting it give a slight hiss as it locked into place. She was immediately back within the confines of a space she was comfortable in. Even when she was in the thick of a firefight, the smell and feel of the helmet around her head was a reassurance. It was home wherever she went.

Home didn't help to alleviate her grumpiness, though. More people kept showing up on the roof and she was wondering if they shouldn't have just hung a big, neon sign that said "shady meeting here." People began to introduce themselves, making all kinds of guesses about who wanted what when she began to back up. Not that the meet and greet isn't fun, but I've got business, he said, jutting a thumb out to the building. She hadn't offered her name or shaken hands. If any or all of them survived this and showed they could handle themselves, then she might think about finding out who they were.

She glanced back to the building across the street, not fully taking her eyes off of the new strangers. If we're all here to make some money and smash some head, then let's get to it, she said. She hadn't intended to attack this location tonight, but with this many people wandering around here, it was bound to have its cover blown soon enough. So who wants to play distraction at the front and who wants to hit the flanks? she asked, looking to Force user a moment. You got your glowstick with you? she asked, taking a guess at who - or rather what - he was.

Neon lights cascaded across the man's face as he made his way across a busy platform, down a set of dark stairs and onto the dirty and decrepit street below. Nar Shaddaa, Tripp had heard of the planet before, it was no different from his own homeworld. Toxic air, killers waiting around every corner, and trash the size of mountains. It had been a year since he had stepped place in anything remotely like a city, it all just brought back too many bad memories--memories he hoped to erase.

He was chasing dead leads more than likely, but it was still worth checking. But, there was just one problem--he needed credits. He had checked the local boards on the holonet, scanning for something that could net a decent profit, and get him out within a few hours. When his eyes came across that of the swoop gang, he knew they would be his target.

He took the time to track down a map, and plan his movements. He could possibly surprise them, catch them off guard--hell he knew he stuck out like a sore bantha with his duster and cap. It had taken him a few hours to make it to the level, and everything seemed to be ready. Taking one last look at the holo-image of a little girl, the case he couldn't solve, he would slip the image receiver into his pocket. He would eye his G-21 Blaster Revolver that was holstered to his side, hidden underneath his duster--it was time.

Making his way down the dirty street and around a trash ridden corner, he would come across the aisle way of the gang's hideout. He could see that it was heavily defended. Stepping through the empty alley, the sound of his bantha-hide boots could be heard echoing through the aisle way.

Approaching the building, he would look towards the men, tipping his hat further down to his eyes, as his hands would rest close to his hips. Looking towards the men, he would respond with a steady voice, "Now I was wondering if you could help me with something?" He had no idea that there were others looking to hit the same people.

Thabo wasn't sure he liked the size of the group gathering to do a job he was going to use as leverage to get better jobs. It was less praise for him if he had to share. Nonetheless, it was better than nothing and he was already here. When the woman started pushing for them to do it and asking for roles, he decided to play along with it. No point in fighting for power just yet. First he would see who survived the fight before drawing any lines in the sand. Playing a distraction was, unfortunately, something he could do very well without huge risk of self harm.

"You can count me in to cause a solid distraction." The Kuati enforcer stated mischievously, giving little other detail before sarcastically saluting and departing the meeting.

On his way to street level once more, he allowed his rifle to slip into his arms. The main entrance was guarded by your typical thug scum hired for cheap. They wouldn't need to die unless they decided to get stupid. Thabo was approaching loudly, his armor and weapon not hidden from those looking whatsoever. His job was to distract and he would have all eyes on him before he was done. One snag did pop up though. Some cowboy looking fool approached the guards seeming like he belonged. Clearly one of their gang or some important client bold enough to stroll up and confidently confront the guards. They didn't need more trouble with the unorganized group they already had. The Kuati knew he had to handle this one as well.

"I think you kids are on the wrong turf!" he shouted loudly through his helmet to those gathered while simultaneously firing his rifle twice; once towards the cowboy newcomer and once towards the closest swoop guard.

Unbeknownst to Thabo, the cowboy was probably friendly but it wasn't really time for chatting. He made sure to have the cover of alleyway corners and dumpsters nearby just in case things got too hot. He was a good 40 meters from them still so there would be plenty of reaction time if he needed it. His new friends, if he dared call them that, would relieve the pressure once they got inside as well. By then it would be too late for the swoop gang to stop them. He just had to draw them out and survive long enough for them to do their thing. As always though, the Kuati had a big smirk on his face as he did his work.

Despite not liking her attitude that much, Jans agreed with the grumpy woman. They should get going before they drew too much attention. The last thing they needed right now was...

Another member to the group. Yep, thatwas happening and it was happening now. At least they wouldn't be so easily outnumbered. "So, everyone and their mothers coming to steal the same spot? I wonder if there's more to this place than I know," he spoke nonchlantly as he walked to the edge and looked down, pondering if he should take the role of the distraction. He was surely the one who could do so more subtly and escape pursuit the fastest, just leap up a building and let the thugs searching. But that also meant letting these scoundrels alone with the loot for some precious seconds.

His focus returned to the rooftop as the mandalorian asked about his lightsaber. He wondered what gave it away, the leaps or the all so discreet robes. "Well, that's actually why I need to get to Vrogas Vas," he said waving his cape out of the way so that they could see he was unarmed. "But don't worry, that's just half of the trick," as he said that, he looked beyond the group, at a rusty pipe laying on the roof and focused on it. The thing flew to his hand swiftly. He turned to the alley, thinking how much he could distract the guards with the Force. "Now, I can use..."

And just like that, before he could even think of a plan, one of his new compnion was walking down the alley he watched, cutting him short as he started firing at the people by the door. Blast it! There was even a civilian! And he aimed for the civilian! What was wrong with these people!

In one desperate and maybe useless attempt to save an innocent life that had just been caught up on a robbery he had nothing to do with, Winther shot his hand out, the adrenaline rush feeding his power as he felt the poor man in the hat and summoned the force to push him out of the way of the blaster bolt.

Max just stood there, looking at the apparent force user. Someone had made a comment about a saber. He had just acquired one, but he wouldn't betray this guy, he wasn't a Jedi, so Max didn't care. Max listened to the lady, yeah, how about we split up, one team inside, one out, I can snipe opponents from the roof, sound good? Then the man to the right took his rifle, and started blasting a civilian on the street, also targeting a swoop guard. 'Well that's one way to do things, although I don't believe that young fellow on the street is a guard. Well to hell with it all." Max unstrapped his 2lc carbine, and started aiming at the swoop guards. Alarms were sounding, and more men were pouring out of the warehouse, they were everywhere.

No lightsaber. Splendid. Well, she hoped that he could be as big of a pain in the butt to these people as the Jedi had been to the Cartel for years. Even without his glowstick, she hoped he could be a distraction. And then they were apparently off. She supposed that was fine with her, as she was the one that had wanted to get down to business after all.

Immediately, she heard gunfire erupting in the streets and she didn't bother to stop and see who was shooting at whom. No matter who was getting shot, it wasn't her yet, and that was all that mattered at the moment. She had made her way down from the roof as it began and took up a position behind an abandoned speeder. Tangos had begun to flood out into the streets and she quickly realized that there were more of these people than she had been anticipating. That didn't bode well. Maybe they would at least be able to be diluted by her unconventional allies.

Either way, the gunfire had drawn away the attention of all the people at the front gate and Rav swung her rifle up from where it was hanging on her sling. She let the sights fall on one of the guards furthest on the edge of their little formation and closest to her. She could already feel her heart pounding and she knew that when she pulled the trigger she would be in the thick of it. But this was no time to hesitate and as the small dot fell on the man's right side, she pulled the trigger.

A bolt leapt out, streaking across the dimly lit streets and plowed into the man's side. The heavy bolt burned through his light armor with ease and knocked him off his feet, sending him squealing to the floor as he began to bleed. It didn't appear anyone had noticed yet, which only left her to take another shot. Good job guys, she muttered under her breath at the adept distraction they were causing.

Thabo's first shot ripped apart the unsuspecting swoop guard. It punched a new hole into his ribs which is not good for long term, nor short term, health. The Cowboy guy @TWD26 was lucky enough to suddenly lurch to one side, almost like he was pushed out of the way. The Kuati decided not to bother with him for now and instead turned his focus to the now flood of gang members coming outside. Most focused on Thabo who had been the loudest one but a few took other targets like Max. Luckily, he knew to expect return fire so a dumpster nearby became his cover. He ducked as a few bolts flew by him and then raised the rifle to launch a few more. It seemed a few were falling from flanking fire and they all thought it was still two men shooting them. Fantastic for a distraction.

"Those others better be doing their job now..," he said to himself as he ducked another shot.

It was starting to get pretty hot even for him to pop up and take shots from his current cover. He glanced over to see how others in the area were doing, hoping to see someone taking away pressure. Thabo then saw a roof above himself that might make decent cover and vantage point compared to the small dumpster. His left arm pointed towards it quickly and he fired his grapple line. It wasn't the fastest ascent ever so he took one glancing shot to the chest as he went up. The armor took it in but it was unpleasant nonetheless. A grunt was all he let out at the hit before rolling onto the roof and hiding himself there until the heat died for a moment. He was much more mobile here. For now he waited to see how others were doing before dedicating to his next actions.

The thug was about to answer, but that was when the shots came crashing towards him. Turning to see the shot that was aimed towards his center mass--he had a feeling it was the end, but it seemed the force was on his side, literally. As if a ghostly force came from thin air, the criminal turned detective felt an intense pressure crash against his side, which sent him through the air and bouncing off a wall into a bag of trash.

Glancing around he tried to see who did it, but couldn't make out who did it. He would scoff as he saw the man who fired on him take cover behind a dumpster as thugs poured out from the house. His eyes would narrow as the man zipped off and up a building, only to take a bolt to his armored chest. Well Kriff...ain't this my luck. He would think to himself as the men began to pour into the street.

Sliding his hand into his duster as he laid among the trash, he would draw his revolver from his holster and aim it from the ground, firing off three shots, one shot per man--center mass. One..Two..Three.. Hopefully they would land, and that would give a clear signal to whoever was running this job that he wasn't one of the gangsters. He had three shots left in his revolver before he would need to reload the blaster.

Jans let out a long breath as he saw the man move and... start shooting at the gangsters? Maybe he was not saving an innocent after all. Should have known better, being in Nar Shaddaa. Well, that did not matter. By now the whole group was down in the street, and he needed to get there too. Dropping to a catwalk halfway to the ground, he was already closer to action. Close enough.

The bolts were flying from both friends and foes alike, and from his vantage point, it all seemed simply chaotic. But there is no chaos, there is serenity. Taking a step closer to a shadow, he breathed slowly, not allowing himself to be taken up by the combat, he allowed himself to simply watch for a couple of seconds, to emotionlessly comprehend every presence and movement on the area he overlooked.

Reaching out with his hand, he reached for a sign bearing a Hutt drinking... whatever those slugs drank... and pulled it lose with the force, slightly manipulating its fall to hit a twi'lek guard that looked around in an attempt to identify who had just shot his friend. Jans breathed calmly and moved his eyes to where some thugs ran, shooting and point at a ceiling. The dark Jedi looked around once again, this time reaching for a box on the bottom of a great pile. The movement was slight, but it soon colapsed towards the assaulters. The next target was the blaster rifle of a thug, that Jans tried pulling away from its owner's hands and towards the cowboy who was aparently on their side.

But that failed. Simply feeling the chunk to the side, the criminal held tighter to his weapon and overpowered the worn off Jedi. And then Winther knew his tricks would not last longer. They would figure out soon enough, if they had not already, that there was a force user in the group orchestrating the assault. He leaped down from the catwalk, landing silently and rounding the battlefield silently in the hopes of flanking the enemies and picking one of them up close, maybe even take hold of a blaster. But for that, he had to hope he would remain unnoticed as he ran from shade to shade.

Max walked over to the edge of the roof, facing the warehouse. Thankfully he had just recently bought a box of thermal grenades. He took one or, set the primer to thirty seconds, and threw it in the general direction of the guards, blasting hem to pieces. Then, he went down a ladder to the first floor. Taking his blaster, he entered the warehouse blast get anyone who came near him. Bolts sizzled all around Max.

On the bright side of this whole shenanigan, they seemed to be carving up the gang members pretty well. It helped that there were now so many of them, and Rav began to line up her next shot as men continued to pour out of the building. A sign fell on one and blaster fire hit another. One of her "partners" seemed to have been hit but wasn't dead, so that was a plus for him.

She was so preoccupied with the gunfire and finding her next target that she didn't notice the grenade land amidst the people below and detonated promptly. It was a flash of light and even the shockwave seemed to knock her back on her butt. She pushed herself off with her feet from a speeder as blaster rounds smashed into the ground next to her, but there were only a handful of guards left.

Rav popped up and fired another shot, now on her feet and closing in with the front door. She put another bolt into the man closest to her and fired another into a man crawling away from the aftermath of the explosion. She began to move in on her target - the front door - and set a grenade at the base. Frag out![color] she shouted as she slid it to the door where it detonated promptly thereafter, blasting it open and allowing the others a way in. @Quazi @Cazar @Winter The Dolphin @TWD26

Well Kriff..I suppose I still got it, he would contemplate for a moment as he watched the three bodies drop to the street. He would begin to sit up from his position within the trash, but then all kriff had broken loose. Once a glaring neon sign, now a lethal object, came crashing down into a group of guards. To make matters worse, a flash of light followed by an intense heat would erupt--it was a thermal grenade.

The detective would shield his eyes with his duster, only to hear another explosion happen. Glancing up he would see the armored figure, as well as a few others. His hand would white knuckle his revolver. He had enough shots to send towards each one of them if he needed, but knew that it would be futile--he would most likely be dead with them. Just my luck to have a run in with a crew. His eyes would narrow as he lowered his weapon and slid it into the holster. "Well..got room for one more?"
