Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it.

Idk, the only thing that might be stated is something about either the lightsaber of the lightsaber style... forgot which one.

Not necessarily something wrong, but something that could be better perhaps?

It was either the lightsaber or the lightsaber style that Jedi Padawans don't start with... It is always kind of sketchy.

lightsaber style, you can have one but just the basics, pretty much rather than any specific mastery.

I don't see the point of actually detailing that your character is a master... How does saying your character is a master actually make your character any better?

I hate that... "i b mastz at mah form so u b pwnd by my lighsaba."

Does saying you mastered a style make you automatically better than someone else? You have to rp it like a master, right? If your character is a Jedi Master, you better be pro at rping, and show it!

Btw does saying you mastered a form make you inherently better than someone in the style who hasn't mastered it regardless of rp skill?

It merely denotes your character's level of proficiency with a style and determines the extent of the things your char can pull off. For example, a master-level practitioner of, say, Soresu might be able to deflect 5 or 6 blaster bolts in a row, but a padawan might be able to barely stop 1 bolt.

As for whether or not it makes you better, nope, not in the slightest. It all boils down to RP skill in the end, unless you're incredibly cheap and rely entirely on Force Powers to do your fighting... And even then you can still be laid low by chars who are, technically, less powerful than your own.

5 - 6 blaster bolts is the limit of Jedi with a mastery of Soresu? Wow the nerf is strong with this one. I guess it won't be so hard to kill Jedi here if I want. That's incredibly nerfed compared to canon lol.

I've seen sites nerf Jedi, but this one takes the cake.

:CSly

The Force Cake...

Can I get a "Yyyeeeeaaaahhh" Jiang?

The canon shows Jedi deflecting bolts fired from slow-firing semi-automatic weapons because the canon nerfs the crap out of regular soldiers to give the Jedi a chance.

Besides that, I'm talking 5-6 bolts inside of a 1 to 2 second window. That'd be virtually impossible to stop without some serious skill and the backing of the Force.

Jedi are melee characters in general so they would be subjected to a high "rape radius" with that kind of nerf. The reason the canon nerfed guns to have to be a great deal of fire to overwhelm was because Jedi would not be of any use...

The Jedi are now effectively DOA. Can't wait to see how badly a person is killed from a single person with a gun.

I know we are making it fair and all, and I know I'm the last person to defend Jedi, but this really makes it unfair to the Jedi considering 5 - 6 is a master of soresu's best.

Jedi be ****ed...

Without force deflect.

There's more to being a Jedi than deflecting blaster bolts with a lightsaber. You could use Telekinesis to whip debris into an opponent's field of vision, you could use Force Speed to dart from cover to cover, you could use Force Push to knock them off balance to advance. In turn, non-Force Sensitives have automatic weapons, shotguns, and explosives with which to combat the Jedi. In fact, things are still stacked in the Jedi's favor because of all the ludicrously powerful abilities they can draw off of - it's hard for a soldier to shoot you if you trick his mind into believing that you're no longer around, or if you cloak yourself from his vision.

That said, don't expect to charge into a room of soldiers with a Jedi and expect to come out unscathed. You're only mortal, after all. ;3

I go in and use force protect and then force repulse...

That would alleviate that situation. Bubble of defense and then a concussive blast akin to several pipe bombs going off at once.

See? Win.

*shrug* If the situation's right, sure. You'd have it in the bag then. Just bear in mind that Jedi aren't nigh-immortal supersoldiers 'round here and you'll do fine.
