Aizahk Aulus Ah'Riz IV

FULL NAME: Aizahk Aulus Ah'Riz IV
AGE: 26
SPECIES: Human

HEIGHT: 6'3"
WEIGHT: 13 Stone

EYE COLOR: Gold
HAIR COLOR: Black
SKIN COLOR: Brown
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes

FACTION: N/A
RANK: N/A

Aizahk is a young, athletic human male in his physical prime, sporting a light chocolate skin tone and pitch dark hair; he is generally ectomorphic in body-shape, tall and lean, with well toned musculature, broad shoulders and long powerful limbs. He is rather handsome looking, with a slight ruggedness to him, though his facial features lean almost towards being prettier. Because of this he tends to grow his facial hair, which he generally keeps well groomed, though he doesn't mind letting it grow out into a full beard. The dense, curly hair atop his head is usually cut short, slightly taller on top, with intricate patterns cut into the sides. His most striking feature however are his piercing golden eyes. He also has a small scar under his left eye, from a sparring accident when he was younger; it has faded almost to the point that it hard to see unless one looks closely. His ears are pierced, with six small rings that run from the bottom of his left ear to the top.

Hailing from a family of distinguished warriors, Aizahk's attire tends to lean towards a more military look with maroon and gold (the colours of his house) as the central colour scheme. He most often wears a dark maroon military jacket, with gold trim and a high rigid collar; he wears a pair of dark trousers, a long, dark overcoat and high military boots along with this. Sometimes however, he'll switch this for a set of dark robes. During ceremonies or important meetings, he tends to wear ornate robes with a similar red and gold colour scheme. Around his waist he wears a thick gold belt that is slightly elasticated, allowing him to both house his lightsabers safely and remove them quickly.

Aizahk also owns a restored set of ceremonial armour that belonged to an old ancestor. It is mainly gold in colour, with red hooded robes that are worn over the top. This is rarely worn outside of special occassions.

Abilities

STRENGTH: Aizahk has participated in strength training since he was a young lad and, at the age of twenty-five, he is in his physical prime. He is able to lift up to around his own body-weight with relative ease. He is more than able to generate large bursts of strength, though is less able to do so over consistent period.

DEXTERITY: In short, Aizahk is Fast. Having lived and breathed the sword the majority of his life, Aizahk is deadly fencer with a slick sleight of hand, known for being able to go from a relaxed pace to an abrupt blitz of attacks in the blink of an eye. His reflexes are deadly fast and he is able to very quickly adjust his style on the fly. He is also able to perform a plethora of acrobatic techniques when the time calls for it, though he tends not to employ such maneuvers unless it is necessary. Although his right hand is somewhat more dominant when it comes to his swordplay, he is relatively ambidextrous and is able to wield a weapon at the same effectiveness in either hand. This allows him to even switch hands effectively during combat. This is easily Aizahk's most developed area, his highly controlling style calling for an extreme level of skill and coordination deep within his muscle memory.

CONSTITUTION: Aizahk is a sprinter, able to unleash terrifying bursts of speed and power at the cost of vast amounts of energy. His body has adapted to this, providing him with a great deal of power in short bursts with a taxing aftermath and relatively low recovery time. Aizahk has learnt to compensate for this by playing a game of control, only striking out in a calculated and controlled manner. Noticing this as a short-coming, it is something he often works to improve on. Despite this, Aizahk is relentless. His relatively average endurance can be beaten out by his sheer willpower a lot of the time, which could potentially leave him in an horrendous state after a long duel. He tends to fight illnesses and mild poisons rather well and has a rapid metabolism.

INTELLIGENCE: Aizahk's parents were quite strict, ensuring that he was well educated from the moment he was born. Because of this he absorbs information quite quickly and tends to be able to process situations quickly, with a logical approach. A debater, he is keen to verbally duel with those that challenge his mental prowess. He has a good general knowledge and a healthy thirst for more, often pursuing intellectual endeavors outside of his training.

WISDOM: Aizahk values knowledge highly and has taken in as much as he could throughout his life. Although he can appear rather lax and carefree on the surface, his closer allies know the value of his serious insight. One aspect of his personality that Aizahk laments however, is that sometimes he suffers from an inability to translate his skill into words. Teaching others his own technique can be a struggle for him, leading even him to get quite frustrated with how badly he's communicated his points. Something he is usually able to do well.

CHARISMA: From his attractive features to his relaxed demeanor and dulcet tone of voice, Aizahk carries an air that tends to relax those he meets in casual conversation. Because of this, he is more than able to make others feel more comfortable than some probably should. He has an almost regal presence on the battlefield, that is intimidating to say the least.

Personality

Aizahk has always been somewhat of a strange fellow. Appearing one day a serious, sophisticated introvert and another day a passionate and wildly charismatic leader, with an odd sense of humour. At face value one would likely describe him as a rather relaxed and cheerful man, agreeable albeit somewhat distant. Most who truly know him know that still waters run deep; that underneath the calm ripples of a quiet and introspective demeanour, a fire burns below. A dragon that only unfurls its wings when it is truly riled. A demon that should never be crossed. Should that time come, as with combating any such creature, many would find that they are outmatched in most respects.

A truly free spirit, Aizahk is very independent and goes about life following his own path. He appreciates time alone, though he also enjoys the camaraderie and banter that can only be had with good friends.

Well read and highly analytic, another key aspect to Aizahk's personality would be his logical approach in life. His ability to remain calm and assess a situation thoroughly allows him to keep a cool head at all times, even through the most stressful, high pressure situations; his patience and calculating mind defines him in many ways, influencing even his way of fighting. He is more than accustomed to the great violence associated with battle and is rather nonchalant about it; this is unnerving to some. Being an eager debater, his intelligence can tend to land him in trouble when in tandem with his somewhat combative nature. Though he is generally able to keep himself in check, he relishes in challenging authority figures. He also has quite the thirst for knowledge, seeking it out wherever possible. During downtime or rest days, it isn't unusual to find him in the archives conversing with others who are more intellectually inclined.

This thirst does not stop at only endeavours of the mind however. His first love, after all, was the way of the lightsaber. Despite what many would consider prodigious prowess in swordplay, Aizahk believes he is not even close to truly mastering his weapon of choice. His connection to the martial arts is deep, bordering on spiritual, practicing in lieu of prayer. He is often raring to test his skills, always looking for opponents from whom he can glean new insight. Because of this, he can most often be found training, be it alone or with others.

Such an insatiable desire to refine his mind and body has also led Aizahk to be highly competitive, though nowhere more so than his fencing. This competitive nature leads him to become quite zealous, even in simple tests of ability. Knowing this attitude can be a little intense for some, Aizahk tends to
cultivate rivalries where he can, be it malicious or otherwise, motivators that help drive him to continue improving. - Something he has taken to doing is collecting the sabers of fallen opponents, though only those who have truly stood out as a true test of skill. These sabers are not so much trophies as reminders of how far he's come with his swordplay.

A deeply spiritual force sensitive, Aizahk has known the Force as most would know the air around him, embracing it as an extension of his own being. He meditates regularly, often favouring a long foray into the mind over sleep. Because of this he has always followed the Force his own natural way. He strongly believes that each individual's connection to the force should be their own, and that they should follow their own way - regardless of their affiliations. Despite his disagreements with their doctrine, he chooses not to view the Jedi or Sith through a lense of hatred or disgust, instead pitying them for the time wasted on their false binaries.

Fiercely loyal to those that he considers family, those who do not repay him in kind are sure to incur the dragon's justice; Aizahk suffers no traitors. This sense of justice is strong and the brand that he chooses to deliver is often harsh and decisive.

Origins

Early Life

The third child of a Jedi father and a military doctor from the border alliance, Aizahk was born on a tropical planet deep in the Outer Rim. Although not truly a noble one, the House of Ah'Riz was held in high regard by many across the galaxy; although not known to all, those who did know of the Ah'Riz feared their great warriors, and revered the prowess of their artists. Of course, like any other child that bore the name Ah'Riz, Aizahk was steeped in the rich history of his family from a very young age. Stories of various war heroes, great battles, and duels, were a fixture in his life from the get-go. The one whose stories he loved the most though were those of his grandfather, an infamous ex-jedi crusader known as "Head Hunter".

However, culture wasn't the only thing that he was clearly immersed in. Something that Aizahk had always been deeply attuned to, was the all encompassing power of the Force. According to his parents, even as an infant he would baffle those around his neighborhood, with amazing feats of agility and the occasional display of telekinesis. Aizahk's connection to the Force was incredible. Using it almost like an extension of his own body, employing the use of it in his daily life came as naturally to him as the use of any of his other limbs. Needless to say, he was a bit of a nightmare to keep in check, even when his stern Jedi father was present.

Regardless of talent, the five year old Aizahk still required some degree of expert supervision. With Aizahk's father away, crusading for the Jedi, and partly because of her lack of confidence looking after a such a young force wielder alone, Aizahk's mother reluctantly sought help from her own father, Jahnos "The Head Hunter". A strangely spritely old man, considering his advanced age, Jahnos quite literally leapt at the chance to teach his grandson. For the next few years, Aizahk was taught to the best of his grandfather's ability. It was also through him that Aizahk first got his hands on the very weapon that he'd venerated his entire life, the weapon through which his true skills would shine through. The Lightsaber. Jahnos kept this quiet from Aizahk's mother, who was highly opposed to the idea of a young boy wielding a laser sword.

Come the age of eleven, Aizahk was highly proficient in the use of the lightsaber, relative to his age. Jahnos was incredibly proud, pushing him harder each and every day. However, it was around now that Aizahk began questioning about the order itself, wondering when he could become a knight like his father and grandfather before him. Jahnos, keen to show off his grandson's prodigious ability, was elated to hear this. Secretly contacting members of the order, that he still liaised with regularly, he urged for them to come and see whether Aizahk could be trained.

Needless to say, Aizahk's mother was mortified when a group of Jedi appeared at her front door looking for him. She was highly opposed to his leaving, unhappy with entrusting her son to the Jedi, with no guarantee that his father would be the one to oversee his training. Fortunately though, after some convincing from Jahnos, she eventually conceded. Aizahk presented his prowess to the Jedi, who were impressed by his skill, and the three deemed him worthy of joining the order as a Padawan learner.

The Order

Aizahk's time in the Jedi order began on quite a high note. Of course, due to the nature of the time, with the war against the Sith at it's height, Aizahk's commander, a "true crusader for the light", put his master under pressure to have him participate in his first battle. Reluctant as he was, his master agreed. Aizahk first touched down on the battlefield at the age of 15. Initially, naturally, Aizahk was pensive about stepping onto the battlefield so young. However, casting fear aside and replacing it with a raw ferocity and zeal, he cut down more than his fair share of opponents.

A model crusader. Aizahk brought the heat of a thousand suns down upon his opponents, throughout many battles. The fervour of himself and his comrades became known amongst Jedi circles, and even select Sith opponents knew of him. This reputation found him and his company under fire however, so much so that he and his comrades were targeted frequently by Sith Assassins whilst out in the field.

Despite the reputation he had gained amongst his peers, and despite the glowing praise from his superiors, Aizahk was never truly comfortable within the ranks of the Jedi. This unease was something that his master picked up on, during the early stages of his training. Harboring similar thoughts, the pair made it their mission to find others who felt as though the Jedi were no better than the Sith they fought. All the while, their commander became more and more ambitious, his orders becoming more questionable by the day. Eventually, this would culminate in an event that would shake Aizahk and his comrades to the core, leading them to forsake the Jedi and make their own way.

Having become separated from his old master and his comrades, the now jaded and disillusioned Aizahk has begun roaming the galaxy, following the force his own way. He seeks one day to create his own order of warriors, with ambitions of glory and grandeur.

Martial Arts

Personal Lightsaber Style: The lightsaber has been a permanent fixture of Aizahk's life since the moment he could hold one. So, naturally, it has become his strongest suit. His personal style has been meticulously developed over the years, mainly through his own experiences and experimentations. However, he has also derived from a multitude of established forms, such as the precision and grace of Makashi or even the ferocity of Juyo and Vaapad. A constantly evolving style, Aizahk employs a sort of martial osmosis, gradually incorporating new skills and techniques wherever necessary, adapting or even completely replacing old or less effective ones; mimicry comes relatively easy to him.

Aizahk's own style is highly control based, spending a good majority of the battle manipulating the movements of his opponent, analyzing, and adapting to their style. He works deliberately and meticulously, taking care to identify and exploit any opening that presents itself.
Efficiency is the key, not making any unnecessary movements whilst ensuring that any retaliations are as decisive as possible. He tends not to favour too much acrobatic display, during battle, only really doing so to surprise an opponent. He can quite easily make an abrupt switch however, suddenly unleashing an overwhelming barrage of attacks should the opponent leave themselves open to it.

Formal Lightsaber Training: Aizahk has learned from masters of each of the classic forms of lightsaber combat and, naturally, has fought against hundreds of other swordsmen. However, because of this, he has never specialized, and has never truly displayed mastery over one form or the other. This is mainly due to the fact that he simply incorporates what he needs into his own style, believing that it doesn't make sense to master only one or two and end up with glaring weaknesses, that other experienced swordsmen could exploit.

Hand-to-Hand: Much like his swordplay, Aizahk's hand to hand leans towards more controlling techniques and evasive movements, with even some technique versus armed opponents; he utilizes powerful knees, kicks, elbows and punches to deliver crippling blows to various pressure points all around his opponent's body.

The Force

Incredibly sensitive to the cosmic energy from a young age, Aizahk's command over the force is somewhat strange. As a child he utilized it innately, using it to get a leg-up in his already above average physical ability. Naturally it has evolved as he has, growing more powerful as he trained and matured. Having been exposed to it so young, and due to his unique approach to its usage, Aizahk's relationship with the force is more like that of an extension of his own body; it is a part of him, rather than a tool or external entity.

A monstrous user of force augmentation, Aizahk's main talent is his ability to vastly increase his speed, strength and agility without a great deal of thought. Combined with his stubborn willpower, only highly experienced Force-users are able to truly foray into the depths of his mind. With such incredible physical abilities, Aizahk uses the Force to outpace and overwhelm his opponents with ease, resisting and even outright evading certain techniques. He has somewhat of a tough time manipulating large objects, using the force alone. But, conversely, he has found himself to be far better at more acute applications, such as the highly dextrous manipulation of smaller objects.

Whilst the more natural applications of the force come easily to Aizahk, this ability has left his proactive use of the Force severely lacking. As such, he has very little talent for projecting the Force in any meaningful way, making the usage of techniques along the lines Curato Salva, or Force Lightning, extremely difficult to get a grasp of. Because of this, he rarely bothers to even attempt learning them.

Notable Applications

Force Augmentation: By far his strongest suit, Aizahk's command over force augmentation is, by most accounts, prodigious.

Force-Flight/Levitation: Whilst Aizahk could always levitate to some degree, he has trained this ability to the extent that he can float and glide rather casually. With a high degree of concentration, he may also achieve rudimentary flight. Though, at his current level, he can only fly around 250 meters before requiring rest.

Tutaminis: Aizahk's utilization of Tutaminis is strong, though his usage really only extends to defense. He is generally able to bat aside and block energy-based attacks such as blaster bolts and, in a pinch, even block lightsaber blows with his hands. He also boasts a solid resistance to energy-based Force abilities, such as Force Lightning. The most notable case of this was how he slew his first Sith, by dashing through a storm of lightning and beheading him.

Due to his currently mediocre skills in the art of redirection, an aspect of his abilities that he strives to improve, Aizahk is forced to distribute and expel the energy throughout his body; he cannot catch lightning in the same vein as a Force-wielder such as Yoda. Though it may appear as though he has fully negated attacks of this nature, and although to some extent this is true, in some cases the entire blast of energy is not lost. So, naturally, beyond a certain point, more powerful energy blasts and techniques will still take their toll on his body, though they will marginally less effective than the user might expect.

General Skills

Adept Pilot: Aizahk's time in the Jedi Order, and his time roaming the galaxy, have made the ability to pilot a variety of space-faring vessels a necessity. He is able to efficiently pilot the majority of the most common star-fighters and cruisers.

Ambidextrous: Aizahk is able to use both hands at almost the same level of dexterity. This allows him to "dual-wield" or switch hands/stances effectively in a duel. However, his right hand is still a little more dominant when it comes to his swordplay and he can only write (well) with his left hand.

Battlewise: Aizahk has always trained himself hard since he was a boy and his put his skills to the test versus a highly diverse range of opponents, mostly during his time in the Jedi Order. This has given him a great deal of strong combat experience. His eyes are highly attuned to combat movements and he is able to analyse his situation and plan accordingly on the fly, if his muscle-memory doesn't provide him with an answer.

Blademaster: Aizahk has trained in the usage of the sword from the moment he could hold one. His light-saber skills are incredible and he was easily one of the best duelists of his academy. He has successfully out-fenced experienced Jedi to such an extent that, despite his relatively weak application of the force outside of augmenting the body, they were physically unable to break focus, lest they fall prey to his superior swordsmanship.

Competitive Learner: Aizahk flourishes in a competitive environment, learning and adapting skills at an exponential rate when there is competition. Because of this he tends to cultivate and maintain rivalries, friendly or otherwise.

Honed Combat Strategy: Due to his battle experience, Aizahk has the ability to think very quickly under pressure and can make quite a detailed analysis of his opponents after fighting with them for a while. This skill proves incredibly useful, even moreso versus a multitude of opponents where a plethora of approaches must be taken. He tends to grow increasingly difficult to fight against, the more time he has to learn.

Outdoorsman: Aizahk has always had a penchant for nature since he was a boy, finding himself at one with the environment. An avid hunter and fisherman, he has strong survival skills and thrives in the wilderness.

Inventory

Firearms

Aizahk carries a light laser-pistol akin to a revolver in shape.

Armour

The Mantle - Worn with dark, simple, hooded robes. A golden ceremonial mask, in the shape of an expressionless human visage, is integrated into the face of the helmet.

Lightsabers

An avid collector of lightsabers, Aizahk has a plethora of blades from both his time as a Jedi Crusader and from his travels. Despite this, he generally only keeps around four sabers on his person.

Astra: A gold-bladed lightsaber that Aizahk constructed at the Jedi Temple, just before leaving his life as a crusader for the Jedi. A highly ornate weapon, Astra's hilt is made almost entirely made of electrum; the straight hilt forms seamlessly into the head of a dragon at the bottom. The hilt has scales etched into the entire length of it, and a red wrapping is tied around the center. This is Aizahk's primary weapon.

Amon: A well crafted ancestral lightsaber that once belonged to Aizahk's grandfather. He inherited the weapon upon his grandfather's death. The hilt is a dark red colour, with gold plating and patterns etched all over it. The hilt is just slightly longer than usual, accommodating for more comfortable use of both hands without making it awkward to use just one. A rare golden crystal forms its blade, that pulsates with electrical energy.

Rahs: - Another Ancestral weapon of house Ah'Riz and the counterpart to Amon, being almost identical in design besides the fact that Rahs is a short shoto with a curved hilt. It is generally intended to be wielded in the off-hand. Aizahk occasionally wields it this way, though he will oftentimes keep it concealed as a trump card.

Dread: A red-bladed lightsaber with a curved black hilt with gold Kittat etchings. Dread once belonged to a Sith Lord, the first Sith to fall victim to Aizahk in a one-on-one duel. Originally taken as a simple reminder of this event, Dread ended up becoming one of the more permanent fixtures in Aizahk's arsenal. He occasionally wields it, though Dread is more ornamental than anything, and Aizahk wears it alongside his other three sabers.

Misc

Lighter - A small lighter for use in survival situations.

All Purpose Knife - A medium-sized knife that Aizahk keeps nestled inside his boot, a back-up weapon should the worst come to the worst, or a useful survival tool.

Hip Flask - A small canteen that usually houses water.

Hmm. Would honestly be surprised if it's a faux-pas that's somehow flown under the radar all this time.

I feel like levitation/force-flight would just be a refined form of augmentation rather than pure flight how we usually think of it. More like "controlled falling" similar to what's seen in Hulk or Jessica Jones with the added bonus of a FS being able to maintain altitude via telekinesis. That's my take on it anyway, probably best to get an official ruling though.

Exactly. Tbh I've only employed it a couple of times, but that's how I've used it. Closest thing I can remember from the Star Wars context is Dooku from this scene at 0:25

It's basically a sustained assisted slow jump, like you'd see in a Wuxia film.
