BIOGRAPHY
Alastar was a member of the Jedi Order for as long as he could remember, having been brought in at a young age, his only possession being his name, and it is unlikely that he will ever know more given the early records about him were destroyed with the bombing on Tython. Despite that, enough information on his early life was saved to paint a picture of him as a studious initiate, if not particularly patient. He was noted as being above average from a very young age with a lightsaber and in the more combat-related aspects of the Force, although his tutors noted he had a propensity for daring and testing his limits, sometimes to the endangerment of himself and others, and tended to only give passing study to other, more peaceful aspects of the Order. This would see his teachers keeping a close eye on him for a tendency toward the Dark Side of the Force, but the young Alastar seemed to keep to a moral code, perhaps influenced a little too much by the tales of powerful Jedi Knights protecting the weak and powerless and fighting evil. At any rate, by the age of twelve, he was determined proficient enough to be a Padawan, and soon began his apprenticeship.
The next decade was not particularly remarkable for Alastar, except for the fact that he and his Bothan master Vylen were almost exclusively sent to missions with a high risk of battle, given that both of them focused upon it. This experience enhanced his natural abilities, as well as gave him the mental and physical fortitude necessary to thrive in it-although perhaps at the cost of developing a sense of ruthless efficiency and a certain numbness to death, necessary mental qualities for any who expected to survive in the long-term. He passed his Knight trials at the age of twenty-two, although suffered a personal tragedy shortly thereafter with his master being killed in a firefight with criminals, which shook him emotionally initially, before he decided to both credit and learn from the mistakes of his master by incorporating more defensive sequences and maneuvers into his lightsaber technique.
Following his ascension to Knight, he mostly spent time in the Outer Rim dealing with pirates, criminals, and the occasional rogue dictator, terrorist, or psychopath (and sometimes all three rolled into one). With the return of the Sith to prominence, he returned to Tython to sharpen his skills and join the Army, since the only family he has are his fellow Jedi, except he ran into a bit of a wall-literally. Returning from a run outside the Temple, he was struck by a piece of exploding debris, which, while not enough to kill him thanks to his immediate attempt to slow it down with the Force, was enough to severely wound him, and knock him out of commission for months. Thus, it is only recently that he has recovered enough to assist and carry out duties for the Army, and if necessary, die for them.

PERSONALITY:
Alastar is, on the whole, a friendly and professional member of the Jedi Army, although he is not without flaws, which he will freely admit. He is quicker to anger than most when it comes to duplicity and dishonesty, and when it comes to engaging his enemies, he tends to prioritize ensuring that they are no longer a threat by any means necessary, rather than holding his opponent’s life at a high priority like a Jedi should. More traditional Jedi might say that he is a little too eager to throw himself into battle, for he has come to the belief that one only increases their Force potential, and by extension their personal potential, by pushing themselves to the limit on a day to day basis, and that the best way to do this for him is through fighting, friendly or otherwise. This makes him a valuable asset to the Jedi Army, but some more cautious members might find his methods a little bit too forward.

Alastar does not particularly hold himself to any specific lightsaber form, instead preferring his own technique utilizing the careful footwork of Form II, the patient defense of Form III, and finally the blast reflection and powerful,sweeping strikes of Form V. This, combined with his physical form, gives him a decent balance of speed, precision, maneuverability, and strength, though he is not particularly notable for any of those alone. Nonetheless, it makes him a foe not to be taken lightly.

Alastar’s ability with the Force is centered mostly around direct combat applications, with a strong focus on telekinesis and enhancing his own strength, speed, stamina, and resistances to heighten his combat abilities and general maneuverability along the battlefield, which, combined with his use of armor, can make him quite the dangerous foe. In terms of secondary focuses, he has honed his senses to become fairly perceptive, become able to heal minor wounds and temporarily stave off some mortal ones, and in creating small barriers of energy when necessary. He has a very limited ability with telepathy, mostly based around resisting the most obvious mental intrusions, and practically no ability with status effects or trances.
