Alsakan versus Coruscant, not Republic?

I was looking over the Alsakan conflict info on wookipedia again and noticed something. On wookipedia is said the conflict was between Alsakan and Coruscant since Alsakan was trying to become the center of the Republic. However we have been doing it more like the Alsakans fought the entire Republic.

It also makes much more sense that way since one planet would have almost no chance against the entire Republic, but if it was planet versus planet there would be an actual challenge. So I am wondering if anything should be changed since canonically we have it kinda set up wrong.

Since Coruscant is the heart of the republic, it has the authority over it as well and when the Alsakans turned against it, they had no authority over the other planets which basically means the Alsakan Union was a rebelling entity rather than a rival entity to Coruscant and the Republic

We've said since day 1 that we altered the canonical information. Also, we've given concrete reasons as to why Alsakan can fight the Republic as well. It all makes sense, but I'll let someone else explain it better since there are others who can explain it better than I can.

Sorry, I just thought that if it was not automatically made Republic versus Alsakans it would help make for a deeper RP froma political level since planets would independently align with sides instead of automatically turning their forces against the Asakans. Plus once the Republic planetsmobilize their forces how will the Alsakans really hold them back?

The Alsakan Union has had thousands of years to build a military to challenge the Republic using its vast resources, which it has considering it's a rich Core World. It's comparable to Germany being able to stand up to basically the entire world in World War II.

If the Alsakans do a good job on Coruscant, perhaps many other star systems would turn against the Republic as if the Republic cannot secure its own capital, then it has a far lower chance of defending any smaller worlds who could side with the Alsakans. Also, if more people sign up for jintu priesthood, perhaps some other planets may be converted to the Alsakan side

Okay, sorry about this. I just do not remember seeing anything that addressed this and I recently saw that the Alsakans were trying to gain control of the Republic by defeating Coruscant.
