Hey there everyone, really glad to be a part of the site. There sure is alot going on here, I've perused the sites forums before, but I've always stayed from joining since I'm not exactly familiar with roleplay like this. I myself am a D&D guy, but from what I've seen the site is super imteresting, as well as super massive. Any help in the right direction would be super appreciated. Looking fondly forward to be a part of your community, I'm off to check the rest of the site out.

Mahalo and welcome. I too enjoy playing D&D, but I always used it more or less as a guide, instead creating my own worlds and races and such. Anyway you asked for help in finding the right direction. I'd be more than willing to help out, what kind of character do you have in mind? I would suggest a main faction since you're just starting out but a few indie factions can also be a nice place to start.

I've got an Imperial Stormtrooper in the works. With a bit of background sketched up, though still not much. Haven't quite figured out how I sanna play him out. I keep thinking back to my Dwarven War Cleric lolz Though its not helping much. There are alot of things I'm unsure of, such as how far one must go to create a Mary Sue here. I don't typically make characters who are considered such. But being that its a separate enviroment, I don't want to step on toes. I've contacted Weiss with some help questions but I didn't ask how powerful a character could be on the whole Str/End/Chr/Wis scale. Because typically soldiers who are both strong and intelligent, are also quick and charismatic, this also makes them good leaders. But it sounds overdone and cliche even just in planning.

While creating your character, people will stop by the post to give you pointers and such directing you toward where you're supposed to beheading toward. But as far as your strength, dexterity, constitution and such goes, a lot of people keep the majority of their traits around 4-6 range with a single trait reaching up towards 7. There are very few exceptions to that such as if you have a wookie or whiphid character, you could get away with having 8-9 strength as it would fit your character, but balance is all that's really being looked for there. What's far more important in creating a character is the Bio and Personality that have minimums to meet in writing them out. And though they say a minimum of around 50 words, it'll come off far better to have a good page's worth of bio! The more descriptive the better ;) In the bios, they try to look for mistakes that would be found in the Site's timeline such as a big example being that Madolorians cannot be open about who they are as they would fetch an incredibly high bounty since the Sith are hunting them all down.

If you need any help, I'm sure that PMing/VMing anyone who's been here a while would be able to help answer your questions. We all try to be helpful here! Otherwise, welcome to the site!

It's also worth noting, pertaining to stats and such, that all new members are required to start off as the lowest rank in their respective factions (usually) and the stats usually reflect that. As you get promoted, though, your stats can increase to demonstrate your increased prowess in whatever it is that you do.

Also, welcome to the forums! I'm a D&D guy also, I'm actually DM'ing a campaing this weekend!

Thanks to everyone, for welcoming me to the site. I appreciate it so much. Especially the help. I apologize for the time its taken me to create my character. I'm fiddling around with using tables and orientation to try and make the content more... Appealing. Since my character is so young its abit harder to make him as interesting as a bounty hunter fresh in from the fringes. I was also wondering Relent, what version of D&D you play. I've been flirting with the idea of starting a new campaign using 5, and grabbing afew of my friends who don't play yet, but I don't know anyone who has played it yet
