Aral walked through the halls of the Dantooine academy. He was supposed to be trained today. He doubted if he would like his teacher or that his teacher would like him. The masters at the academy did not think he could be trained he was very drawn in and did not have any friends. The masters thought he would be a failed padawan and Aral began to believe them. Aral fingered the lightsaber he had begun building. It was hidden in his robe because he wasn't supposed to have it, but if Aral was going to fail he wanted to be able to sell it on the black market. Maybe get enough money to go somewhere far away. Aral jerked himself back into reality. He was almost to the door leading to his new master. Aral paused in front of it smoothed his hair and walked in.

"Do you wait for an invitation, Aral Vinn?" Dusan asked from behind the young man. Even with Dusan's slight stature, he towered over the very short teenager. "I'm afraid you won't get an answer, there's nobody there to return your calls." Dusan added as he moved around the boy and placed a hand on the doorknob, which spiraled into a fine gold vine along the oak doors. Pushing the door open easily, he made his way into the private training room. "Don't just stand there, come in."

The room itself was warmly lit by a large chandelier, which cast long shadows on the ground. Dusan's eyes caught the light and reflected the dangerous power he held control over. The room was decorated with small windows, blue drapes hung from brass bars over the windows, stifling any natural light in the room. The floor was obsidian, and appeared to be one massive slab of marble, perfectly cut in the circular shape of the room. A single ivory pillar, barren of any markings, extended to the domed roof.

Dusan turned around to face the young man he was to train. He lifted his hand in an open gesture, and the archaic lightsaber the boy had been harboring. He examined it for a moment, before igniting the blade. A bright green blade emitted for a moment, before shorting out and overloading. He opened up the hilt and removed a murky green crystal. "This isn't a focusing crystal, young padawan. It is a semi-precious crystal found in most caves on Dantooine." Placing the blade within his robes, Dusan studied the boy. "It takes incredible skill, both technically and in the force. You are nowhere near skilled enough to create a blade."

Crossing his arms in a monk-like pose, he moved behind the white pillar, "Come with me, padawan. I wish to show you something."

Aral winced as his blade shorted out. He should have known that a master would sense it. The man who was to be his master towered over him. Swallowing Aral did as his master said following his masters hand gesture.

"Here." Dusan said, looking at the ivory pillar. "Do you know what this is?" He asked, it was a rhetorical question, of course. "It is a memorial to those who have fallen." Dusan moved forward, his hand ghosting over the memorial, not quite touching it. "It is to those who have fallen to the Sith." He paused, his hand frozen over one area along the base.

Dusan tapped the ivory pillar, and a blinding red light flashed out in the room. It seemed all light in the room had been snuffed out. Now, only a grating red light flashed out, and jagged lines crawled out from the central point of light. "This is a just a tribute." He said, his voice now cold and damning.

Now the entirety of the pillar was covered in the lines of red light. A low humming pierced the air, and it became apparent the lines were names engraved in the pillar. Dusan touched a name, and the image of the Jedi appeared off to their left. Another appearing with another touch, this time to the right. In a matter of minutes, the entirety of the room was filled with the images of fallen Jedi.

With a simple wave of his hand, all was normal again. The room was its mundane, brightly lit room. "Do you see how easy it is to fall?"

Aral gasped as his master brought the memorial into a life of it's own. The true power that his master held was awe inspiring. As pictures of those fallen appeared to Aral his master asked if Aral saw how easy it was to fall. At first he was'nt sure if he was to answer, he had been asked many questions by his master but had yet to answer any of them. When his master said no more Aral replied,"Yes, master, but why do you show me this?"

"The Council has put you in my hands because they fear for you." Dusan stated bluntly. His face was rigid and stern, and he looked straight into Aral's soul. "We've watched you, and you often exhibit uncontrolled emotion, you anger easily, and you have been unwilling to learn from anyone." Dusan added, "To put it bluntly, we fear you may fall if not careful. That's why I'm here."

"Because it would be a worse fate, for all of us, to let you loose, to be taken by the Sith." Dusan replied, his voice measured, very teacher-like. "Now, I know you have at least a younglings knowledge of the Force, so show me what you know."

Aral nodded in understanding. Taking a deep breath Aral reached out through the Force touching everything in a clumsy manner feeling all life his teacher, the other students, small creatures. Aral foccused himself on a small bench for mourners and used the Force to attempt to pull it over.

Dusan watched with a blank expression as the heavy oak bench scraped across the floor, moving an inch at a time. He smiled to himself as he saw the strain on the young man's face. "Good, good." Dusan said, waving his hand absently, the bench lifting of the ground and floating gently back to its original spot. "That bench was very heavy, I'm glad to see you have enough focus to move it even that much."

"Come." He said, as he made his way out of the room, into the brightly lit halls of the Enclave. As he walked, his gentle footsteps making little noise on the polished floor, Padawans, Knights, and Masters all inclined their head when they passed, a sign of respect for the master of the Enclave. Dusan nodded back in acknowledgment. On both sides of the hall, busts were mounted on pedestals, each one with a small silver plate naming the person who was represented in the cold stone sculptures. "Former Enclave Masters." Dusan remarked, sensing his Padawan's brewing question.

As they made there way through the halls, Dusan remained silent, only speaking a word or two of acknowledgment when required. They walked for roughly ten minutes, and came to a sun-bathed courtyard. White columns lined the outer rim of the courtyard, supporting elegant tiles. The yard was overflowing with foliage, bushes sprouting bright flowers. In the center was a single gazebo, made of the same stone as the pillars. A number of Padawans were relaxing in its shade.

When they saw Dusan enter, they quickly scrambled to their feet, bowing reverently for him. He nodded with a smile. When he asked them to be on their way, a few were reluctant, but agreed, not wanting to upset the Master. A moment later, and Aral and Dusan were the only two in the courtyard. "Good, now. I have a task for you. It will not be easy, mind you." Dusan stated, moving to a bright bushel of flowers and gently inhaling their sweet fragrance. "This place is teeming with life, Aral, and each one is equally important in the force. In order to master the force, you must first understand what it is. So, therefore, you are to tell me how many ants reside in this courtyard. Do not bother to count them, you will never find them all. You must sense each individual lifeforce, each unique heartbeat, and then, when you are ready, you will simply know."

Dusan made his way to the gazebo, where a cushioned bench lay in the sun. Sitting down on it, he made himself comfortable, gazing out at the green courtyard. "Come to me when you have finished."

(((This should be very difficult for you, so make it detailed, maybe even more then one post, I dunno.)))

Aral was shocked by what his master said. Count all the ants was he insane! Aral quikly caught himself this would not be easy and he would need all his concentration. Breathing deeply Aral could began to feel himself beginning to sweat. The heat from the sun and the pressure on him was getting at him. Aral sat down on the bright green grass in a meditative posistion closing his eyes Aral reached out with the Force. Immediatly all the life was mingled together all intertwined in the web of the Force. Plants, bugs, his master all were blured to Aral.
Steadying himself Aral began to sort through the confusing jumble. He immediately picked out his master a strong precence amidst the courtyard. Aral concentrated harder and began to identify the smaller creatures now he began to sense the birds. Aral pushed them out of his mind. Now he was begining to feel the smaller Ant prcences.
Suddenly another sentient being entered and startled Aral out of his meditation.

Aral looked over to see another startled padawan standing near the entrance to the courtyard. Apparently he hadn't known Dusan was here. Quikly the spooked padawan took off.
Again Aral lowered himself into the trance he was in moments ago. Again he sifted through the life forms until once again reaching the level of the ants. As he reached out to touch one with the Force his mind was flooded with many different minds, althogh not as strong as the original, they were there. Suddenly Aral realized why, ants were hive minded when he touched one he touched them all.
Realizing this Aral reached towards the queens. They would know the most because they were directing it all. However when he did and after he began counting he realized it was a futile attempt, because every time he counted one another came into existence.

Aral pulled himself out of the trance and looked around, the sun was lower in the sky now. He didn't know how long he had been in that trance. Standing his cramped muscles informed him that it must have been a while.
As Aral steadied himself he rembered what his master had told him to do. Walking over to the Gazebo and stopping Aral told his master what he had learned."The ants cannot be counted master. Not because I don't want to, but because of the nature of the Force." Aral paused to gauge his master's reaction. Continuing Aral elaberated,"I say this because the Force is constantly bringing forth life. One cannot simply count the number of any species or animal because the Force will always add and though it is also in the nature of the Force to kill it is not equal to the amount of life given," Aral finished. He stood waiting for his master's response.

Dusan nodded to Aral. "You're conclusion is a sound one, and truly, I had no expectations for you to feel them. But currently, there are 9,984,204 ants in the courtyard. It takes years and years of practice with the force to be able to pick out and know each distinct lifeform." Dusan replied, while lifting himself from the seat.

"The force is master to no man. However, man can master the manipulation of the force. To a degree." He explained, motioning with a hand to have Aral follow. They were on the move again. They walked for only a short few minutes, and Dusan talked about other small aspects of the force. Philosophical mumbo-jumbo. They arrived shortly at a large, open room, with numerous rings painted on the ground, weapons racks lining the steel walls. Windows high on the wall let light into the room.

"Take a practice saber, Aral." Dusan said, removing his own blade from his belt. Igniting it, the fierce red beam lighting the floor, Dusan smiled. "And attack me."

Aral gasped as his master told him to attack him, but then he smiled. Reaching out through the Force Aral pulled a training saber to his hand and ignited it. A blue blade sprung forth and Aral wasted no time in leaping at his master striking at his torso.

OOC:I like your new avatar the other one freaked me out.

(((haha)))

Dusan's wrist flicked, the blade knocking the padawan's blade harmlessly away. His body was centered, his arms close to his body, the only movements were slight shifting of his legs, and the flicks of his wrist, which knocked back the practice saber harmlessly away from Dusan.

Aral spun away using the momentum of the knock against his blade to spin faster and bring himself back into attack posistion. Again Aral began to swing towards his master's torso before quikly changing the direction towards his master's head.

Dusan's blade spun in short sweeps, the subtle turns and flicks of his wrist bringing his blade to parry every blow Aral issued. His feet glided smoothly over the well worn floor, dancing lightly, his blade never leaving the eye of the storm. "Good." Dusan called, locking his blade with Aral's, pushing the padawan back, before returning to block the attacks. "Very good."

Dusan smiled and ducked and swiveled his foot, catching Aral in the chest and sending him back three feet, landing on the floor with a great thud. "No." Dusan said, who was over Aral in less then a second, his blade hovering just above his head. "It means you have some skill with a blade." Dusan said, his blade disappearing into the folds of his robes. He straightened himself out, and picked up the practice blade, which had fallen a few feet away.

"You were sloppy, you used far to much strength to swing, and you're limbs were wild, moving far to much." Dusan stated, returning to the center of the combat ring. "Look, already you pant. And we had only been fighting for less then a minute."
