They say a leader is made, not born. I tend to disagree.

It’s a blend of both that creates a truly excellent leader. One that’s able to blend hours of hard work with an innate ability to inspire others to follow them. You cannot make a leader of a follower and you cannot make a follower of a leader, the leader will always rise to the top, one cannot hope to keep them down. For the Chiss people, I am this leader, the one who will lead them to further expansion and the death of those inferior to us.

My life began forty nine years ago on our icy homeworld, Csilla, to a wonderful mother and military man for a father. Chiss are famous for their short childhoods, becoming a full adult by age eleven, and I spent the majority of it in the academy to learn the arts of war. My military career is the typical successful one, filled with shiny medals and impressive victories with a handful of minor losses due to inexperience. It’s nothing particularly interesting to be completely honest, what resulted from it is what truly matters now.

Whilst I was still busy serving as a general for our glorious military, the Nuruodo Aristocra changed our society forever. I knew our family was growing steadily in importance but not to the point where we were fully able to do what he did. Bypassing our normal way of life and setting himself as our one ruler, the Imperator. Initially I was not pleased with such a brash move. Vanity and hubris have claimed many a potentially great man’s soul in the past and I did not wish to see Chiss society suffer for the ambitions of one man.

Eventually he had slipped up though. A series of new laws to further rip power from the other three Families were put into effect and they were not happy. I may have not started my life as a politician, but I know an opportunity when I see one. As one of the prominent commanders in our most recent Killik conflict and the one to lead the killing blow on them, I was loved by the public and the other families knew this as well. A few messengers here and there, and within a few weeks the former Imperator had been disposed of, with me as his replacement. I removed the majority of the restrictive laws on the other families, fully allowing them to do their assigned tasks again, and received their favor as well as that of the populace for removing the incompetent leader.

I now lead the Ascendancy. I am the Imperator and I will lead the Chiss to glory in this horribly inferior galaxy.

Yeah, it's a glitch in the prefix thing, I'm hoping once it's fixed it'll correct itself.
