STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Aren is not a strong person. He is frequently plagued by some small illness, and occasionally is put in bed by whatever virus might be going around. He also tends to be naieve, seeing the best in people and situations, even his training and time in the CSF have done little to alleviate this.

By comparison, he is also a very good thinker, enabling him to look at a problem and solve it analytically. He has also undergone standard CSF training, and is skilled in a variety of aspects, from interrogation to high speed pursuit. Aren is also something of a smooth talker, and has some skill in manipulating situations to the desired outcome.

PERSONALITY:
Aren is, by nature, a good person. He immensely dislikes hurting people, either emotionally or physically, and will go out of his way to do the right thing when possible. While he will on occasion lash out, this tends to happen only in moments of extreme emotion.

By contrast however, he does have a certain hard edge to him, particularly when dealing with the kind of people that a detective must deal with routinely. While he will attempt to simply solve a problem, he has been known to become attached to things that he should not have been, such as in one case, a murder suspect.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born to middle class parents in one of Coruscant's megablocks, Aren Nalto had a reasonably peaceful, average life. Right up until he was seven standard years old. While he was at school one day, the block that Aren's family lived on fell victim to a gas mains explosion, blowing up his family's apartment, his family, and a large section of the block.

Lacking suitable alternatives, Aren was adopted by his uncle, a widower and detective with the Coruscant Security Forces. While initially Aren disliked his uncle, who had little idea of what to do when the child was dumped in his lap, within several years the boy had not only embraced his uncle, but also his career. In typical child "when I grow up" fashion, Aren was convinced that he wanted to be a detective as well.

Upon finishing school, he did just that. Taking and passing the CSF entrance exam, he spent the next two years training and studying to be promoted to detective, which he accomplished shortly after turning twenty-five.

During a routine drug investigation, Aren was in the process of clearing a suspected den with CSF officers when he was shot in the arm by a ryll-head. Lashing out on instinct, Aren, and those who saw him, were amazed when the junkie went flying across the room, braking his neck in the process, without having been touched.

After several days in the hospital, Aren concluded, independently of those who told him that "it must have been adrenaline", that he needed to investigate further.
