The galaxy was populated by hundreds of inhabbited star systems and hundreds more that were not inhabbited. Over the mellinias past, brave pilots trailblazed out from the core worlds hungry for the knowledge of what lay out beyond what everyone knew. As discoveries were made and systems with their celestial bodies were charted, new hyperspace lanes were created. Some of those lanes developed over time, expanding, into the trade routes that crisscrossed their way through the galaxy today. For this mission, the one that mattered was the Perlemian trade route which began at Coruscant, in the core, and extended out beyond the Quermia system in the outer rim territories passing through known places such as Taanab, Brentaal IV, Chandrila and Anaxes. Then of course there was Corulag, the planet that was currently their destination.

Corulag itself was a temperate world covered in oceans, plains and bamboo forests outside of its urban areas. The planet was fourth from its sun, taking 371 standard days to orbit around its star and 25 standard hours to make a full rotation. A billion and a half people lived on its surface, which were all humans except for a small smattering of a few other sentient races. It had on it resorts, academies and universities along wit h other things that might appeal to the tourist visitor. None of these things were what they were interested in, however. There were only two real threats that could become a problem for them on Corulag, a population of a species of rancor and of course the Empire. The latter was the worst threat which made it important for them to not get caught.

Ten years ago, the Empire attempted a purging of the Jedi; not for the first time in history. As a result, many Jedi had taken what they could and fled into hiding, some more successful than others. Word had gotten to the Order, as it was now, that in recent years, a ship matching the specifications of the type that had been popularly used by groups of Jedi to flee with what they could take with them, had been found crashed in the plains of Corulag. This included more than just themselves, but their padawans, materials, data and holocrons from which they could teach their youthful Jedi. It was their mission to salvage what they could from the downed ship and bring it back.

Saana had done her research on the planet to best be prepared for what they might find,, or what might find them. The mission seemed simple enough, and the Jedi Masters of the Council had to believe so as welll since her two companions were Padawans like herself, but anything could happen. First, they had to find a way there. They would be travelling into and through Sith held space, which meant that it would only be trouble if they used a ship that was known to belong to the Jedi, or even the Rebellion. Some other method would need to be used and that was how they came to be where they were now;; a cargo freighter called the Galliant Rose. The pilot was an aged Sullustan who from time to tim did runs for the Order when discretion was called for. Next would be arriving there without any Sith entanglements to do passovers and scans to locate the crash site of the target vessel. If all went well, they would be able to land nearby and search the ruined vessel and surrounding area. They could only hope that noone had beaten them to it; ten years was a long time. Lastly, anything that they did find would be loaded onto the Galliant Rose and then depart to report back. Saana wondered, however, if any of those Jedi survived; someone had flown it and crewed it, in the very least, where were they? What happened to them?

In the cabin space that the Togruta Padawan was given to stay in while they travelled from the loading point of the Galliant Rose to Corulag, Saana sat crosslegged on the floor. Her bare feet were barely peeking out from under the hem of the loose flowing pants that she wore. Her hands rested on her knees as she sat with good posture, a headtail draped over each shoulder and the third still behind her, and her eyes closed. Even while she was not in the presence of her master, Jedi Master Kai Sara, Saana attempted to practice at the things he had shown her. In this case, meditation techniques. She had been told that it was when you were relaxed, at peace, clear minded and open to the Force that you could hear the voice of the Force. She had come to learn, however, that the voice of the Force was not really a voice, not in the traditional sense of the word; it came in the form of a feeling, an image or a realization of something you had not thought of before. Saana was not meditating over anything specific, instead she waspracticing the technique.

The silence in the cabin was broken by, first, the crackle of the Galliant Rose's internal comm and lastly followed by the distinct voice of their host, Captain Jien Roobe. "We have five minutes until reversion time."

Saana cracked one eye open. She could picture the aged Sullustan and his jowls through his voice alone and it made her smile a bit. The smile did not last long, though, as she thought about what he had said; five minutes. She had been in Sith space before, more than once, but this was the first time she would be there as a Jedi; as one of their enemies. A part of her wished that Kai had come with them, but as a Jedi Master and a member of the Council he had many things to do other than walk her through everything. There would be things she needed to learn on her own and she did not believe Kai would have agreed with her going on this mission without him if he had not felt she was ready for it.

It was not long before Saana got to her feet and had moved the distance from her cabin to the cockpit of the vessel and took a seat in one of the open acceleration chairs. Jien Roobe had entertained a number of her questions about piloting the craft and had even let her watch him. She waited to do just that now, glancing back every now and then to see if her two fellow Padawans would be coming up as well. Very soon their mission would be underway.

Ever since Saerina Avrikana had heard about the mission efforts to restore the Jedi Archives, she had immediately wanted to be involved somehow. As a quiet, studious and curious person, she had always been intrigued by the Jedi Archives and hoped to at least see them someday. And now, she was finally being sent on one of these missions. This was the first time, though, she had ever been on a mission that was not with her master or another Jedi Knight. She was determined to be helpful to the two other Padawans and complete the mission successfully. At least it didn't seem like a particularly hard mission... assuming nothing unexpected showed up.
When the pilot announced that they would be landing soon, Saerina put down her datapod, which she had been using to do a little bit of last-minute research about the planet. She tried to shove away her nerves about the idea of being in Sith Space. Her mind was always very active, and sometimes it was a good thing because of all the observations she made and stored away most of the time, but in cases like this, it wasn't such a great thing. Overthinking things was a weakness for a Jedi in situations like this. She decided to go up to the cockpit and see if the other Padawans were up there. Saerina normally preferred to be alone, but perhaps being around others would provide a healthy distraction.
She pushed her long brown braid over her shoulder and quietly entered the cockpit, where the Togruta, Saana, was waiting. They hadn't talked much before the flight, but obviously they would get to know each other soon. Saerina smiled shyly at the other Padawan and wondered if they should be saying anything.

Saana was there in the cockpit watching out the front view, counting down the time before they would rever to real space once again, when Saerina entered the cockpit. She glanced back at the other Padawan and offered her a light smile. "Are you ready?" She asked in her usual softly accented voice. "Once we are there, we will need to acquire a speeder to use and leave the city on it." It could prove to be a very long walk if they chose to go by foot.

It was as Saana fell quiet to wait for Saerina's response that the freighter lurched; the blue and black of the hyperspace tunnel dissolved into starlight once more. In the distance, Corulag hung silently in space waiting for them. She watched as the captain worked the controls, bringing them closer to the planet. It was only a couple of minutes before he reached over to activate the comm unit and began talking to the traffic control officer. Saana was, unknowingly, holding in her breath as she waited for the conclusion. The held breath was released slowly with the last words of the voice on the other end.

"Permission Granted. Keep to vector 158.47.10, docking platform 72. Welcome to Corulag."

It was only another handful of minutes that it took for the freighter to descend through the atmnosphere, land at the docking plotform and the freighter's access to be open so that they could leave when they were prepared. It was at last time to go and Saana stood up from the acceleration chair she had sat in within the cockpit and turned more fully towards Saerina. "Let us go find a speeder, yes?"

Saerina glanced out of the cockpit as they came out of hyperspace and approached the planet's surface. It was always so interesting to her to see yet another new world from this distance- most planets looked so calm and peaceful, even if there was chaos happening on its surface. She nodded coolly to Saana, trying to focus on the Force and not on her usual nerves. "I think so. Do you feel ready? And yes, we will definitely need a speeder. Unless you have a strong desire to practice the Force Sprint," she joked.

The other Padawan seemed hard to read. She was emotionally cool, like how Jedi ought to be, but everyone had to have some sort of feelings. Saerina hoped she could get to know the Togruta a little better during the mission- hopefully she would be a little bit more open. Being a reserved person herself, Saerina found it hard to try to get to know someone who didn't wear their heart on their sleeve.

The ship soon landed and Saerina walked out with Saana. She had some practice driving a speeder before, but frankly wasn't very good at it and found it frustrating. "I have credits if we need them," she offered. "Have you had much experience with speeders?"

A light smirk crossed Saana's features at the joke. "I am sure Master Kai would approve of such practice, but since he is not here I would prefer the speeder.* The smirk settled into a soft smile. In truth, she was excited and nervous all at once. It was a new place, it was her first mission, her first objective as a Jedi without Master Kai's supervision, or the supervision of another Jedi. It was all she could do to keep it all bundled up. She was practiced at it; the emotion and adrenaline being much the same when one is hunting, but just like now you wanted to keep those things under control or else mistakes could happen.

As she descended the ramp with Saerina, she could detect the local smells and feel the daytime breeze brush over her exposed skin. Saana's yellow gaze took in their immediate surroundings in what was the city's spaceport. "I have some credits as well. Hopefully, it will not take too many." Saana gave a slight nod of her head. "I can pilot one. My skill is not as proficient as a racer, but it should do."

It took less than an hour for the pair to locate a speeder that they could rent for 200 credits for the next two days. The vehicle was not in the best looking condition, old and beat up, but the owner ws able to prove easily that it still ran. After a brief exchange of pleasantries, she climbed into the control seat of the vehicle. Saana reached into a pouch and pulled out a datapad and offered it to Saerina, in case she did not have her own. "This has the location information. Would you be able to help me by navigating?"

"Well, I'm glad you agree!" Saerina fell silent again as she was reminded of the fact that she and Saana were on their own, without their master, and both of them for the first time. The mission wasn't likely to be very dangerous, but that didn't make it less intimidating. As always, Saerina's goal was to do well, not just to scrape by with the bare minimum. But she also had to keep telling herself not to get too stressed if something did go wrong- she couldn't expect it to run perfectly.

She shivered slightly at the breeze and drew her cloak more closely around herself, being sensitive to cool temperatures. It was a good thing that Saana knew how to pilot a speeder, she thought. Saerina didn't want to be forced to be the one piloting, even though she was decent at it- ships and other vehicles were inherently confusing to her for some reason. It wasn't that she didn't like them, but controlling one seemed intimidating.

Saerina paid half the sum with her credits and climbed into the passenger seat. The old speeder was clunky, but at least it was cheap and reliable. She gladly accepted the datapad, happy to help with navigating instead of actually piloting. "Of course," she murmured, seeing that the coordinates had already been entered. She took a minute to study the vectors that appeared on the screen and said, "You'll want to get out of the city by the south exit, and then turn 26 degrees east of south from there."

Saana nodded to Saerina's initial instructions as she checked everything and powered up the vehicle's repulsers. "Here we go." The Torgurta padawan glanced over at her companion, then set them on their way. It would be a lie if she were to say that she was not nervous or anxious. Like Saerina, she did not want to just get by on this mission, she wanted to do well. She wanted to reward Master Kai for having faith in her from that first day that they had met by coming through this mission.

The speeder was piloted proficiently through the city, towards the south gate and eventually through it. Once out of the city, the vehicle's speed picked up now that there were less turns and obstacles to slow them down. Signs of the city gave way to the vast grassland fields that covered the planet's surface. Every now and then, Saana glanced over at Saerina for navigational instructions.

As they grew nearer to the site that was their destination, the evidence of the rancors in the area became more evident. From time to time, a roaring cry could be heard. Saana hoped that they would be able to do their mission without running into any of the creatures. She gave Saerina another glance. "If we encounter the rancors, we will need to work together."

Saerina's nerves ebbed away eventually as she focused on helping Saana navigate. That was usually all she needed- some concrete, literal task that was interesting enough to distract her from thinking about what could possibly go wrong. The planet was a nice enough place, she observed. It wasn't particularly exotic, but it could have been worse. Saerina had not enjoyed the cold, swampy planet that Kai had taken her to for training once.

The sound of Rancors in the distance startled her a bit. It would be quite annoying to have to deal with those if it came up... Saerina glanced at the holomap's instructions again, and it wasn't very clear to her whether or not they would be going in the direction of the sound. She nodded in agreement with her new friend. "Yes, definitely. I don't think we have much to worry about though," she added optimistically. "We're faster and smarter than them by far, and we're not disarmed like Master Skywalker was in that old story."

But, of course, the Rancor cries grew gradually louder as they traveled. Before long it was evident that they would indeed be passing through the Rancor territory. "I hope there aren't many of them..." she said, watching as the foliage grew thicker, providing the Rancors a good spot to hide in. "Do you think we should stop and see if we can create a route that will go around the Rancor territory?"

The increasing sound made her a little nervous, but it did not show much outside of the small twitches that her headtails made. Having the task of piloting the speeder did well to keep her focused on something other than the possibility of being eaten by a rancor. Saana tensed as their was a crashing sound through the growing foilage just before one of them appeared in their path. "Hold on."

Saana jerked the controls of the speeder, sending it into a sharp swirve to one side. Not only did she need to avoid crashing into the rancor, but she had to avoid trees as well. She took a deep breath and released it, having to remind herself to remain calm and trust herself, to trust the Force. The speeder swirved hard to one side, straightening for only a moment before doing so again to avoid a dense grouping of trees. The rancor roared and sounded as though it might give pursuit, and it did. Saerina was correct, however, and while they were in the speeder they were faster than the creature. Before it gave up its chase, its attempts to catch them could be heard. Saana took in another deep breath and released it, this one more of relief than anything. "It might be a little late for that. I also do not know how far their territory is, or how many of them there are."

The occasional distant sound could be heard as they continued moving in the speeder, but currently they faced no other close calls like they just had. The trees soon thinned out to a dotted population on another grassy plain. The difference now, though, was the crash site could be seen in the distance. "Is that it up ahead?"

Saerina's heart jumped when the Rancor revealed itself so suddenly. How could they move so fast, in order to startle two Jedi in a speeder? She made a mental note not to underestimate big, brutish creatures again. Even scarier than the Rancor was the fact that they had to drive rather aggressively now to avoid them. The fast, tight turns and jerky movements made her heart pound and her stomach lurch. But before they knew it, they were out of it... for now. "Good job getting us out of that under pressure," she said to Saana, with a faint smile.

The crash site was coming up, and even though Saerina was starting to get excited about this she knew they couldn't forget about the Rancors. They were still nearby, after all. They slowed the speeder down, and Saerina glanced at the other Padawan. "We should probably find a safe place to park the speeder. It would be a shame to have our transport destroyed by the Rancors!" Meanwhile she was glancing around to see if any place looked like it would be well-hidden. "Maybe that tall grass over there?"

Once they had parked the speeder Saerina climbed out, taking a moment to use the Force to get a feel for what was around. No major life forms seemed to be around for now... But still, she was cautious as they approached the crashed ship. No one knew for sure what was really in there.

Saana's grip on the controls of the speeder as the ride went from smooth to very irratic to avoid the rancor was tight. The creature had as much startled her as it had Saerina. It was perhaps the task at hand of avoiding the rancor and not crashing into anything else that gave her the focus to bare through it. When it had been over, Saana visibly relaxed and released a breath of air she had not realized she had been holding. She gave her companion a bit of a smile in response to the compliment. "Thank you, but it is not something I would like to repeat soon."

Saana slowed the speed of the vehicle as they drew near, acknowledging Saerina's suggestion. "A fair idea." Her yellow gaze scanned over the area, coming to rest on the area of tall grass that was just pointed out. She gave a nod. "Good idea." With cautious ease, she piloted the vehicle into the tall grass. The closer they drew to entering the crashed ship itself, the more excited she got. Once the speeder was in the grass, she shut down its engines and then climbed out. The grass was nearly as tall as she was; a fcat she did not mind. "Let's go."

Saana moved through the grass with Saerina making only the slightest rustling. For her, it was not so unlike being at home on Shili. They eventually broke from the grass, however, and the ship lay there broken up in front of them. It was a sizeable craft, looking to have been large enough at one time to possibly hold other craft inside of it. "It seems to be quiet for now, but be careful." She glanced over at her and then moved to enter the wreckage carefully.

At first, she just poked her head in and then took a step back to activate a light source. She glanced over once more at her companion and then entered.

"Definitely not," Saerina agreed as they hid the speeder in the tall grass. She had the feeling that they would have to encounter the Rancors again sometime later, but hopefully they wouldn't be caught off guard. The grass was surprisingly tall- even taller than she had thought. When she climbed out and followed Saana, Saerina realized that the grass was taller than her. It was disorienting to not be able to see, and she pulled up her hood because the grass was irritating her sensitive skin. It was hard to even see Saana because she was moving so quickly, apparently quite comfortable with this new environment. Saerina took a moment to clear her mind and listen to the Force, and that was the only reason why she was able to get out at the same time as the other Padawan.

The massive ship was a chilling sight. It had clearly been there for a while, as there were patches of dirt collecting on it, and weeds growing in the dirt. Saerina felt a bit apprehensive about going in. Saana basically spoke Saerina's thoughts when she said they should be careful. With one hand on her lightsaber hilt, Saerina nodded and walked with her in.

At first, there seemed to be nothing around, but then Saerina noticed a sign that pointed inwards and mentioned a hangar. "Look," she said, pointing it out to Saana. "Maybe there's something we can find in there." So they followed the signs a little ways until they came to a hallway that was completely collapsed, preventing them from going any further. "Well... now what?" Saerina wondered if they could cut their way through the collapsed wall to get to the hangar, but that probably wouldn't be safe. Maybe there was a way around it.

The ship was almost eerie with the creaks and groans it made as they moved through it and as the wind outside moved through and over cracks and holes in the crashed vessel. Though she did not draw her lightsaber into her hand, her hnd remained close to it and at the ready. Her yellow gaze glanced over the sign that Saerina pointed out, noddin slightly "Maybe so..."

The Togruta padawan, like Saerina, followed the sign indicators. However, when they came to the collapsed in dead end she frowned a little. "I do not think it would be safe to attempt to cut our way through. If there is a hangar there, then it should have a means to access it from the outside part of the ship." The Togruta paused a moment. "Provided it too is not dmaged too badly." Her gaze glanced around once more for a short time before focusing back on Saerina. "Before we return to the outside, though, we should perhaps check the rest of the vessel. If there is any information on its computer systems then we might be able to retrieve batt and learn something from it, about the people that were on board."

(OOC: I'm not dead! Not yet anyway. XD Sorry about the wait!)
Saerina nodded in agreement. "Good idea. Maybe there will be some Hologram recordings or something."

So they turned around and headed back the way they came, looking for signs that indicated a control room or anything of that sort. Eventually Saerina spotted a sign that read, "Security." Turning to the other Padawan, she said, "We can probably find something useful in there." It was slightly difficult to get to that room, as there was fallen cargo all over the floor at one point and so they had to move that around and climb over it. But, the security room was in one piece, unlike the hangar.

However, the door was jammed. "Let's see if we can use the Force to move this before we cut into it," she suggested, wanting to be cautious. After all, no one knew what was inside. Working with Saana, she took a moment to concentrate on the Force and then focused on pulling the door open.

OOC: This snuck by me. <3

IC: Saana gave her fellow padawan a slight nod before taking one last look around. Then she turned to walk a little behind Saerina, helping to make sure that their path remains illuminated beyond what light filters through small cracks and holes in the hull. The moving of and climbing over debris was a slow and cautious task, but not a particularly difficult one.

When they got to the door, the pair found it to be locked; just another obstacle. "Together then." Saana focused, along with her fellow padawan, on the Force to get the door to move. The bulkhead around the door was warped and twisted, making the door impossible to move through mundane means. But their combined effort through the Force caused creaking and graning in the metal for several seconds before they were able to open the portal and see into the room. Saana peered in with her golden colored eyes. "Do you have computer skills?"
