The galaxy was populated by hundreds of inhabbited star systems and hundreds more that were not inhabbited. Over the mellinias past, brave pilots trailblazed out from the core worlds hungry for the knowledge of what lay out beyond what everyone knew. As discoveries were made and systems with their celestial bodies were charted, new hyperspace lanes were created. Some of those lanes developed over time, expanding, into the trade routes that crisscrossed their way through the galaxy today. For this mission, the one that mattered was the Perlemian trade route which began at Coruscant, in the core, and extended out beyond the Quermia system in the outer rim territories passing through known places such as Taanab, Brentaal IV, Chandrila and Anaxes. Then of course there was Corulag, the planet that was currently their destination.
Corulag itself was a temperate world covered in oceans, plains and bamboo forests outside of its urban areas. The planet was fourth from its sun, taking 371 standard days to orbit around its star and 25 standard hours to make a full rotation. A billion and a half people lived on its surface, which were all humans except for a small smattering of a few other sentient races. It had on it resorts, academies and universities along wit h other things that might appeal to the tourist visitor. None of these things were what they were interested in, however. There were only two real threats that could become a problem for them on Corulag, a population of a species of rancor and of course the Empire. The latter was the worst threat which made it important for them to not get caught.
Ten years ago, the Empire attempted a purging of the Jedi; not for the first time in history. As a result, many Jedi had taken what they could and fled into hiding, some more successful than others. Word had gotten to the Order, as it was now, that in recent years, a ship matching the specifications of the type that had been popularly used by groups of Jedi to flee with what they could take with them, had been found crashed in the plains of Corulag. This included more than just themselves, but their padawans, materials, data and holocrons from which they could teach their youthful Jedi. It was their mission to salvage what they could from the downed ship and bring it back.
Saana had done her research on the planet to best be prepared for what they might find,, or what might find them. The mission seemed simple enough, and the Jedi Masters of the Council had to believe so as welll since her two companions were Padawans like herself, but anything could happen. First, they had to find a way there. They would be travelling into and through Sith held space, which meant that it would only be trouble if they used a ship that was known to belong to the Jedi, or even the Rebellion. Some other method would need to be used and that was how they came to be where they were now;; a cargo freighter called the Galliant Rose. The pilot was an aged Sullustan who from time to tim did runs for the Order when discretion was called for. Next would be arriving there without any Sith entanglements to do passovers and scans to locate the crash site of the target vessel. If all went well, they would be able to land nearby and search the ruined vessel and surrounding area. They could only hope that noone had beaten them to it; ten years was a long time. Lastly, anything that they did find would be loaded onto the Galliant Rose and then depart to report back. Saana wondered, however, if any of those Jedi survived; someone had flown it and crewed it, in the very least, where were they? What happened to them?
In the cabin space that the Togruta Padawan was given to stay in while they travelled from the loading point of the Galliant Rose to Corulag, Saana sat crosslegged on the floor. Her bare feet were barely peeking out from under the hem of the loose flowing pants that she wore. Her hands rested on her knees as she sat with good posture, a headtail draped over each shoulder and the third still behind her, and her eyes closed. Even while she was not in the presence of her master, Jedi Master Kai Sara, Saana attempted to practice at the things he had shown her. In this case, meditation techniques. She had been told that it was when you were relaxed, at peace, clear minded and open to the Force that you could hear the voice of the Force. She had come to learn, however, that the voice of the Force was not really a voice, not in the traditional sense of the word; it came in the form of a feeling, an image or a realization of something you had not thought of before. Saana was not meditating over anything specific, instead she waspracticing the technique.
The silence in the cabin was broken by, first, the crackle of the Galliant Rose's internal comm and lastly followed by the distinct voice of their host, Captain Jien Roobe. "We have five minutes until reversion time."
Saana cracked one eye open. She could picture the aged Sullustan and his jowls through his voice alone and it made her smile a bit. The smile did not last long, though, as she thought about what he had said; five minutes. She had been in Sith space before, more than once, but this was the first time she would be there as a Jedi; as one of their enemies. A part of her wished that Kai had come with them, but as a Jedi Master and a member of the Council he had many things to do other than walk her through everything. There would be things she needed to learn on her own and she did not believe Kai would have agreed with her going on this mission without him if he had not felt she was ready for it.
It was not long before Saana got to her feet and had moved the distance from her cabin to the cockpit of the vessel and took a seat in one of the open acceleration chairs. Jien Roobe had entertained a number of her questions about piloting the craft and had even let her watch him. She waited to do just that now, glancing back every now and then to see if her two fellow Padawans would be coming up as well. Very soon their mission would be underway.
