Description:
Astora Arms International is a company that solely focuses on the research and development of the next generation of arms and armor. The company quickly rose to public fame due to the sheer amounts of technology they put into each of their incredibly exclusive products.

Their headquarters - and only location - is placed in a secure complex on Coruscant. Here, a small amount of the brightest scientists and engineers work tirelessly to create advanced technologies and test them in various use cases. They are guarded by a veritable army of professional security, armed with the company's own products.

In order to protect sensitive information, the company is extremely secretive. Most employees only know the smallest amount of information necessary for them to optimally perform, and the only person who knows the complete picture of any project would be the project lead and Brian Astora himself. Employees entering the building are not allowed to bring visitors and must present themselves for iris scanning before they are permitted inside.

Despite the secretive company culture, most employees love working for the company. They are allowed to delve into complex technological problems with nearly unlimited resources - basically a limitless playground for them to test their mental mettle with.

History:
Founded in the latter years of the Hundred Year Darkness by Brian Astora, a self-proclaimed genius, billionaire, and all-around whimsical man, the company was initially created by Brian to give the smartest engineers in the galaxy a sandbox to create advanced gadgets of any kind. However, due to the nature of the times, the company found itself drifting more and more towards the primary development of advanced arms and armor for the different sides of the conflict. Of course, the products made by the company were extremely well made, but also nowhere near mass-marketable, and as such, Brian thought of a unique lottery system for the different peoples and factions of the galaxy to get their hands on Astora tech.

Every year, Brian and his close friends would come up with a competition for which the winner would gain a piece of Astora tech of their choice. The competition would change each year, and participants would have to pay a fee of 1,000 credits to enter.

Intent:
My primary intent in creating this NPC faction was to give players a little more context into many of my upcoming tech submissions. Given the tech's advanced nature, it also provides a location for potential plots should any characters decide to attempt to obtain them through any nefarious means.

Additionally, as I've mentioned earlier in the write up, I plan to hold plots every once in a while in which participants are pitted against one another for the IC pleasure of Brian Astora. This provides the necessary lore and framework that I need to accomplish such a feat, which would in turn provide more role playing opportunities for the player base on the site.
