At Long Last

[Khamari]

Ke'von sat up against the side of the ship and watched as millions of stars whizzed by. His nerves were getting all wired up. For the first time since meeting Master Liloon, the kid was nervous. After so many years he would finally get the training he needed.

Not much longer he found himself back on solid ground. When he got outside he started towards the temple, and towards his destiny. When he arrived he noticed that most of the temple was vacant. Many of the rooms looked as if they had been deserted and there was no one there to greet him. Not thinking it mattered much, he randomly chose a room, threw his belongings inside, and continued exploring until he came to a section that looked like a huge garden.

He took a seat on one of the nearby benches and waited. If any of the few wanderers he had saw noticed that he was a stranger then someone would come looking for him. Until then he would just enjoy the strange tranquility that began to settle over him.

 

[Galykia]

Galykia the courtyard, that housed a beautiful garden. It was a nice day, not to warm or cold. He had recently finished training a padawan, and was now moving on to his next trainee. He was a human boy, like his other trainee's in the past.

"I presume you are Ke'von? I am Galykia. We shall begin training now." Galykia said to the boy as he approached him. After his short and simple introduction, he walked over to a patch of grass and sat. He began to meditate at that moment, clearing his mind and being one with the force.

 

[Khamari]

"Nice to meet you Galykia." He watched as the man seemed to take in the serenity of the garden and pulsate it's aura around him. Ke'von walked with Galykia to a small patch of grass. When his master sat down and began to meditate, Ke'von felt even stranger.

"So I just sit and think about what, exactly?"

 

[Galykia]

Think of nothing and think of everything. He said as he continued his peaceful meditation.

 

[Khamari]

Strangely, Ke'von didn't find this to be a tough task. He had often found himself, since childhood, dazing off into a trance and various thoughts, tough questions, and confusing answers swimming around in his brain, but when he came back he was at ease as though his brain at just been emptied.

"I believe I understand, master. I'm at peace with myself and can vaguely sense the balance within these walls. It's like the garden speaks to me." He said calmly while sitting next to his teacher.

 

[Galykia]

Excellent. Please recite the jedi code, if you know it that is. Galykia said without breaking his tranquil meditation.

 

[Khamari]

"I'm sorry, sir. I do not know the Jedi Code." he said, a bit embarassed.

 

[Galykia]

Don't be sorry, it is my responsibility to teach you these things. Galykia noticed his padawan blushing from not knowing.

Just repeat after me.
Emotion, yet peace. Ignorance, yet knowledge. Passion, yet serenity. Chaos, yet harmony. Death, yet the force

 

[Khamari]

"Um... ok. Emotion, yet peace. Ignorance, yet knowledge. Passion, yet serenity. Chaos, yet harmony." Ke'von figured he had done pretty good.

 

[Galykia]

Memorize this code and live by this code. Now continue meditation until you become one with the force. Galykia continued his meditation, focusing on the force and being at peace.

 

[Khamari]

Ke'von nodded. He had began focusing on the life force eminated around him. Soon everything got a bit cloudy, a feeling of longing overcame him and he could feel something tugging at him. No longer was it peaceful but chaotic. He concentrated on keeping himself together. He started leaning out of exhaustion and quickly opened his eyes to extremely bright sunlight.

"Master, did I do something wrong? It started to feel different. Like the force was fighting with itself."

 

[Galykia]

Just keep meditating, it will all come together at some point. Patience is the key.

 

[Khamari]

"Ok, master. Is there anything else I need to know?"

 

[Galykia]

Yes actually. Stop asking questions, you must be patient. Now do not talk till you are one with the force.

 

[Khamari]

Ke'von felt a bit scorned but he didn't speak. Closing his eyes he began to see a faint glow. It was calming. Every muscle in his body began to relax and the glowing light in front of him started to slowly spread out before him. though his eyes were closed, he could still see the garden. The light had spread and became the shapes of flowers, trees and bushes that Ke'von knew were right there in front of him.

As excited as he was, Ke'von actually calmed even further. Everything he saw was very, very faint, and shook out of place when he moved his head. He continued to sit there as images of life rushed past him. Various people, animals, and even planets flashed through his head like pictures from a dream.

 

[Galykia]

Excellent, I can sense your ability to use and be with the force. This will be one of your three greatest weapons throughout life. Now we shall began lightsaber training.

 

[Khamari]

Ke'von opened his eyes and the images disappeared immediately. Though one image that Ke'von had curiously concentrated on stay imprinted in his retina for a few seconds before fading.

"Lightsaber training." he repeated. "I feel that I'm ready, at least I think I am, master."

 

[Galykia]

Excellent. Galykia said in a calm voice as he stood up. He walked over to a bench a few feet away. To training sabers made of wood leaned against the bench. He took both and threw one at his padawan.

As Galykia took a fighting stance he told his padawan to attack.

 

[Khamari]

Ke'von didn't react in time and the wooden sword hit the ground with a soft thud. He reached down and picked it up, automatically feeling embarrassed. His master had already got into a stance and issued the first command.

Ke'von clumsily gripped the weapon and swung.

 

[Galykia]

Galykia took out his weapon and readied it. He moved the handle of the weapon down, even to the waist, and formed a fist away from the body. He kept his legs spread and bent, comfortably. He pointed the weapon at the padawan's throat.

I shall teach you form VI, Niman. It is the jack of all trades style, no weakness or strength. This is your resting stance, copy me.
