"Do you see it? Buried there, deep within you, within me, within all of us - beneath all the years of pain and anger. From the days of the oldest stars, from the spark of life itself, there is always something there that has never been nurtured, never can be nurtured to the fullest. It takes many forms in our eyes, nobility, virtue, strength, and all these fall beneath the hope, the dream in which we reach for the potential to make ourselves a better person, a better man or woman. To make ourselves more than what we are, to become the best that we can be. And that is what it is to be Human, that is what it means to live, to strive to see a better day and pave the path for the generations to come.

And that is what we strive to realize within ourselves; what more does it mean to be a Jedi Knight than to become the paragon we desire to be within our hearts? Even in the oldest souls, there was a time they looked at the stars and dreamed of what might be, what they could become, and they would become better for it. Not for the sake of history, neither for the Jedi Order, but for themselves and for the sake of others. But despite this, the galaxy has hurt us, hated us even.

The Jedi have been hunted, slain, despised - and yet still we strive on in our ideals. We still reach for that which is deep within us, and to help others find it in themselves. And although the galaxy may turn from us again, if we are to be damned, then let us be damned for what we really are; dreamers, philosophers, architects, healers, saviors - forever Knights of the Jedi Order. And one day, no matter how dark the skies will grow, we will take our place in the heavens.

I am Atlatean of the royal House of Taldarus. Or... at least I was, once a time ago. Frigid cold, there was... scathing, blistering. Boiling blood became crystal in the stream, the body became diamonds of flesh and bone. Vast wastelands of snow and ice, endless blizzards spiraling the highest airs. It was a dead world of sorts, but such was one of the last legacies of Alderaan. This was my world, this was the world of Avishan. Out of the way, even ignored, one might say. It was a moonless world, inhabited only by chance and the undying will of our ancestors that set off in colony ships from the great homeworld of Alderaan.

This was the place I was born into. The surface, sheets of ice, it was. Our palaces were made within hollowed mountains, beneath the surface of the soils and within the great oceans. A splendor of beauty, it was, but one special and unique. It was our own, all we had and all we had ever wanted. We never attracted any attention, beyond the concern of the Galactic Republic, below the trouble of the Galactic Empire, and beneath the notice of all else.

Been this way for thousands of years, it has. And for the most part, there's been peace. At least, until the insurgency. I never knew how it began. Happened well and long before I was born, it was. The war had been ongoing for three hundred years when I was born. The last prince of the House of Taldarus. My first memories were of the burning palace. My first words were code. My first actions were the wielding of the hurzaus, the thunder staff. I was born into civil war.

Even now, I scarcely remember the battles, the carnage... the death. My parents were dead long before I ever knew them. My uncle and two of my cousins - the last of the House of Taldarus, we were. Caught in the war between the four royal bloodlines. Endless war, endless bloodshed, until Avishan could bear it no more. My uncle, Jyranus, was duke and regent in my place until I came of age. But it was not his position in blood that the people of Avishan would remember him, but his soul. He was one of the advents proclaiming peace, unity.

His voice carried words that touched you to your deepest parts, words that stirred up within one the feelings long lost, frozen cold by the winds of Avishan. He proclaimed hope. Hope to see a better day than what we had, hope to create lives for the new generations, lives better than the ones we were living - than the ones we were forced to live, by our fathers and our father's fathers. And his words moved me greater than any actions I've known. I was in my fifteenth year, I was, when the houses finally began to talk.

I remember them all, the Royal Houses of Taldarus, Sol, Rinevar, and Dimetre, and many, many nobles. All of them, all of us, seated in the empty ruin of what was once the central palace, where every member of royal blood could meet as one family, one bloodline. Many months had gone, they did, and while the fighting hadn't yet stopped, a great many houses spoke for peace then. Things improved a great deal after contact was made with New Alderaan, fifty years before. Representatives of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances attempted to make progress with us, but the process was slow.

But now, it seemed that things were finally moving forward. Avishan was in forever darkness, it was. But now, the dawn was coming. The light at the horizon, if you will. We stood, all of us, on the edge of a new era, an era of life, prosperity, nobility, virtue... we were retrieving what we had lost long ago. The Jedi came, and an offer was proposed to them; from each of the four families, a single heir would be given them and returned to lead Avishan. And as destiny would rule, I was chosen of the House of Taldarus.

The four of us were separated, we were. I never knew where they went off to. But shortly after I left, to become a Jedi Padawan... the news of the death of my uncle and cousins reached me. Never before had I felt such a stone over my heart, that men like I would willingly walk the path into darkness and turmoil. But I would not let it destroy me. I knew what my uncle desired, and I would not fail him. I would become a Jedi, I would train, learn, and I would return to see Avishan see a greater future than the one I'd seen. Because I am the last of Taldarus. Because I am a dreamer. Because I am, a Jedi."
ELYSIUM

A double-bladed lightsaber with a songsteel hilt, said to have been found in the vaults of the House of Taldarus, Elysium is Atlatean's now personal lightsaber, having apparently once belonged to an ancestor of his. With a dark blue crystal and a snapt-hiss ignition, Elysium is a peculiar item as its existence predates modern contact with the galaxy, but is new enough that it possesses a synthetic crystal, common to the Jedi Order refounded by the legendary Jedi Grand Master, Luke Skywalker. While Atlatean was not initially allowed to use Elysium due to the dangers, he showed a remarkable affinity as an artisan when while tinkering with the hilt, he intensified the lightsaber's protective electromagnetic arc, thus degenerating the cutting power down to the relative strength of a training lightsaber. Coupled with his already established skill with a hurzaus, a weapon similar to an electrostaff, Atlatean is a competent wielder of the weapon.
THE TRINITY

A peculiar and very small Jedi holocron found at the same time as Elysium and known only by ancient markings etched on it which translate as "trinity", the Trinity was the beacon which attracted the Jedi Order, and in turn the Galactic Alliance, to seek out Avishan, which ultimately resulted in the citizens of Avishan being rediscovered by the greater galaxy. The Trinity was actually found in the vaults of the Royal House of Sol, but only activated when Atlatean's grandfather touched it, revealing it was not only a Force item, but biologically "coded" or "locked" to specific genomes, so that only members of a bloodline may activate it. After it was plundered by the House of Taldarus, Atlatean was given the Trinity in his departure for the Jedi Order, and while it does react to him, Atlatean has yet to initiate the holocron to grant him access to the information within. Nevertheless, Atlatean carries the Trinity on his person at all times.
FORCE ABILITY

As a Jedi Padawan, Atlatean's Force abilities are still developing. He currently possesses a general grasp of his core Force abilities, such as psychokinesis, precognition, extrasensory perception, and enhancing his physical attributes for brief periods of time. However, Atlatean has discovered he has a particular prowess in the telepathic aspect of the Force, including power tied to mental manipulation. Most notably, Atlatean has the innate power to deaden the five senses and perceptions of a sapient or non-sapient mind, transitioning their consciousness into a catatonic state, which often resulted in a person freezing in place for brief moments. Although not matured, Atlatean also has displayed the ability to greatly and rapidly increase his body temperature or to absorb heat from a source, possibly psychologically eased for him due to his upbringing on a frigid world. Besides this, Atlatean also has some limited knowledge of healing wounds and ailments, the rudimentary of curato salva.
MARTIAL ABILITY

Although young, Atlatean has been trained in martial arts since his early youth, particularly via the use of the hurzaus, an Avisahni melee weapon similar to the electrostaff. Since his acceptance into the Jedi Order, Atlatean has since trained also in the Jedi arts of unarmed combat. While he is not an expert in unarmed martial arts, Atlatean is an adept and very competent in hand to hand conflict. On the side of his skill with the lightsaber however, Atlatean is more accomplished, as the hurzaus was the prime focus of his training. Coupled into the fact he was able to retain his lightsaber, Elysium, through his early tutelage, Atlatean can wield his double-bladed lightsaber as easily as if it were a part of him, even if he has yet to master the art.

Might make a few more edits, but yeah. Finally made a Jedi padawan I intend to keep around
