512ce3c930c1247165b8f962c0e44486.jpg

Height- 171cm
Weight- 181 pounds

ATTRIBUTES:
Strengths

Atol may have the ingenuity of a Rancor, but he has an equivalent amount of ferocity. He will charge headlong into battle against any opponent without a hint of fear. He has a keen eye for detail, he's also constantly aware of what is happening around him. He has excellent reflexes, is quick thinking, and to top it all off he has superb accuracy with rifles and pistol type weapons in the short-medium range. Even at long range he will hit the target the majority of times.

Weaknesses
In terms of his intelligence, Atol has been described sarcastically as 'like a well trained Rancor'. He can follow orders perfectly well, but he lacks the creative spark or ingenuity that has helped other officers rise up the ranks.
He has no ambition, he simply follows instructions, as long as they come from a superior officer. He doesn't seem to have a speck of compassion or empathy for anyone, as well as being short tempered, which can make him very difficult to work with.

Anyone who doesn't know him well would find his abrupt manner and terrible social skills to be totally off putting. Of course, due to his lack of social skills, nobody knows him well.
On the plus side, Atol's army instructors said he is 'strong as a Reek, and can run faster and for longer than a nexu'.
Some would describe Atoll as 'the perfect soldier'. Most would describe him as 'a total jerk with a brain the size of a peanut'.

PERSONALITY:
He hides a deep sense of loneliness and emptiness behind a façade of apathy towards all things. He pretends to not care if he lives or dies, but he is as afraid of death as anyone. His emotional growth was stunted at an early age, he learned to become isolated and withdrawn from people. From when he learned to talk, Atol would not speak to people his own age or older whether male or female unless absolutely required to, at school for example. Any of the other childen who tried to forcibly break through the barrier he built around himself, by trying to provoke him, was likely to get either verbal abuse or a smack in the mouth. Atol can't stand being touched at all by men (attractive women are another thing altogether!), generally though physical contact of any kind is very difficult for him.

Although not intelligent by most people's standard, he knows how to judge people by the way they act and speak. He has no tolerance whatsoever for "braggers, loud mouths or smartasses", as he would say. Any of those kinds of people are likely to be sent headfirst through the nearest door, followed closely by a recepticle of some kind containing their newly extracted teeth so they can have them put back in...But that's only if he feels generous.

He hates being talked down to, is short tempered, and can only just about tolerate being spoken to in a disrespectful manner if he's being given an order by an army officer.
He will follow the lead of a fellow trooper though, if they are experienced and treat him with some respect.
Though his time in the Border Alliance and Grand Army helped him to keep his feelings in check, he is often just one second of opening his mouth away from being charged with insubordination... Or discharged from the Army altogether.
He is a 'chauvinistic pig', as one of Atol's ex girlfriends once described him. He has no respect for women, viewing them as either 'objects or obstacles'.

His one redeeming quality, if you could even call it that, would be his rock solid unflinching loyalty. Once he makes a promise, feels that he owes somebody something or swears an oath, he would rather die than fail to fulfill that loyalty. This was taught to him by his father, the only person he ever had any respect for. Which is odd because the beatings that his father regularly administered likely played a large part in Atol's emotional difficulties, particularly his lack of empathy.

'Discipline means pain. Pain means strength. Weakness means death' was his father's regular mantra. The hatred he feels for his enemies, may well stem from a deeper hatred that Atol never truly confronted... From conversations he never had with his father. Sadly, the opportunity has now passed.

BACKSTORY:
Atol had a fairly normal childhood, up to a point. His mother (Elizabeth) loved him dearly, and he had good food, toys and friends to play with. All good things come to an end, though. When his dad (whose name was John) came home from countless nasty experiences working as a CORSEC officer, his experiences left him broken and angry for reasons that a 5 year old Atol had no chance of understanding. After school, little Atol would be screamed at for no particular reason, and to even speak or react in any way would inevitably lead to being terribly beaten.

Elizabeth was now terrified of her husband and didn't dare to stop the beatings at first. On one occasion that she did try to, she ended up in hospital for a while. Of course, Atol spent much of his life from then on staying quiet and hiding from his father.
This behaviour basically extended to his relationships with other children, and he became a withdrawn and angry young man.

On entering adolescence, Atol rebelled against his dad by running away from home and joining a local gang. The gang taught him how to fire a gun and how to fight with his bare hands if necessary. He channelled his anger and naturally fast reflexes into developing a stronger physique and beating up anyone who challenged him. One day he went too far, imagining a boy he was fighting was his father. When he finally stopped pummelling the poor boy, the body beneath his fists lay still, never to breathe again.

Atol, as hardhearted and violent as he had become, started crying uncontrollably. He was abandoned by the gang he had joined, they were ashamed to know him.
After this incident, he stopped engaging in physical hand to hand combat. Atol was afraid once again. This time, though, he was afraid of himself.

On returning home, Atol was constantly beaten by John, and yet he would not defend himself. He told himself that he deserved this treatment. John taught him that joining the military was the only way of life, that nothing else could give life direction and meaning. Pain was supposedly 'part of his training'.

John did teach Atol how to shoot, using the best techniques he had learned during his time as a CORSEC officer, and Atol dedicated his time and energy after school to becoming a better potential soldier. It was the only time his father showed even a glimmer of approval towards him. Every time he hit a target far away down the road or in a field, his father would even occasionally smile. By the time he left school Atol was physically strong, fast, and a well trained marksman. These skills would serve him well when his father forced him to enlist at the minimum age on his planet. The Border Alliance tried to forge Atol into an obedient and loyal soldier. Although he struggled with the new role, Atol had been taught to keep his vows by John, so he obeyed every order given him because of the oath he'd sworn to fight for the Border Alliance. His lack of ingenuity, and occasional disrespectful outbursts when his bad temper temporarily overcame his sense of duty, held Atol back from progressing in his military career.

When the Border Alliance was incorporated into the Grand Army of the Republic, Atol was still fiercely loyal to the Republic and trained hard to become a deadly soldier. His Commanding Officer noticed Atol was excelling in both strength-based tasks and blaster accuracy. After proving his worth as an efficient trooper, as well as a unflinching killing machine, Atol was tested as to fitness for joining the Special Operations division of the Grand Army. His greatest test was yet to come.

On the day before one of his final assignments to prove his worth, Atol received a brief message from his mother.
'John has killed himself. Funeral next week. Love you.'
Although deep down Atol had hated his father for a long time, he still could not focus during his assignment, and he caused a group of fellow soldiers to be killed by a mistimed throw of a grenade.

It was an accident. Wrong place, wrong time, you could say. That would be of little comfort to the eight families who wouldn't even have enough left of their beloved to say a proper goodbye to. The grief hit Atol hard, he was so sorry for his mistake. But he had to harden himself even more than he had done previously, in order to continue with his military career at all.
For a time, Atol became convinced he was unable to even throw a grenade of any kind, but a harsh and merciless officer eventually forced him to throw again, and he was good enough to get by in most situations.

He never attended his father's funeral. What was the point? He never got attached to anybody. What was the point? Although he never spoke to his mother again after that message informing him of John's death, Atol regularly sent her a large portion of his army pay to provide for her needs. After her 'bringing him up and all', as Atol would put it, his sense of loyalty moved him to keep doing that.

Atol may have grown into a dark and lonely man, but his combat skills were almost unequalled among his fellow troopers.
He was chosen to join the Special Ops division after an outstanding performance at the Battle of Coruscant. He singlehandedly dragged eight injured people to safety from a collapsing building, one at a time, whilst Sith were still rampaging throughout the planet and killing civilians. He could have just escaped on a transport, but Atol risked his life for these eight strangers. Although they were severely injured, at least they all survived the evacuation and received medical treatment afterwards. When asked why he had risked his life for people he had no connection to, as it seemed so out of character for him to do this, Atol replied:
"I owed it to them". Nobody ever did understand what he was referring to.

On a brief vacation on board a secret ship used by Special Ops forces, Atol met a man named Artorias Ull. The fellow trooper revealed that he had known John Hass, Atol's father. After learning about what his dad had been through during his time as a CorSec Officer, Atol was shaken by what he heard. He decided to use up the rest of his vacation time on a trip home. He had a sudden, almost inexplicable urge to see his mother and home city again.

Wow. Dang. This is pretty dang cool.
Just a little input: for someone so strong, I'm surprised that they aren't wearing heavy armor.

Would definitely like to RP with this guy with Artorias sometime, maybe do a short feels trip, idk.

Thank you for the feedback. :)

As for equipment such as armour, I basically just copied people who seemed to know what they were doing. I have no idea how to make a soldier tbh, I just like making characters with depth. :)

Haha, you did well then :)
Yeah I would slap some UAI-19 Combat Armor onto him, gives good mobility while still providing good protection.
In addition, for missions that don't involve Sith, I suggest that you use a blaster rifle, they tend to have longer range and all of that, like maybe the MST-R Heavy Repeater or, if you want a lighter and smaller gun, the HL-9914 Carbine (created by yours truly :^)).

This is really only important when it comes to PvP tho so I wouldn't really worry too much if you aren't planning on doing that.

The Border Alliance was a relatively recent formation (about six or so years ago). Ergo, his father wouldn't have served it in 'during the war' since it didn't exist, or he was over a hundred years old. He may have been a mercenary I suppose... or a CORSEC officer who ended up on some nasty jobs.

The Calm One.
Thanks, I just added a blaster rifle, all that technical stuff is kinda complicated. Probably better I learn what to do first. :)

@Sivaprasad
He could also take the route Artorias did, doing pirate raids and stuff for the planet's security forces/militia.
Idk, maybe crackdown on a Slave trading ring went bad or something and a massacre happened. That would be pretty scarring o_O

Edit: Spelling :)

OK, his dad was now a CORSEC officer.
Sounds good. Just what I imagined.
What is a CORSEC officer, anyway?... :)

Unless I've missed something, why does have this attitude towards women specifically? He just seems like an arsehole to everybody anyway.

It isn't towards women specifically, I was just trying to tactfully depict his view of romance and courtship.
Women 'are nothing but distractions' to him. I didn't want to make him likeable. ;)

(Oh, he also developed intimacy issues at a young age, he is used to supressing any normal feelings.)
