Attention citizens of the Republic:

The Galactic Republic has placed a complete trade embargo on the Hutt Empire. Effective immediately, all corporations and individuals based within Republic Space are to cease all trade with the Hutts and Hutt-Affiliated worlds, organizations, and individuals.

Anyone found in violation of this order can and will be charged with High Treason against the Republic. Corporations violating the embargo will be charged with High Treason as well, their assets will be seized, and the individuals controlling the offending corporation will be charged with High Treason and appropriately punished.

Navy Forces are in place at all major and minor Trade Routes leading to Hutt Space and have locked down transport to and from Hutt-held worlds. The Navy is under strict orders to detain any ship that attempts to pass them, though if a vessel -or vessels- try to run their blockade, they are authorized to stop blockade runners through any means necessary.

Signed into law by,
Supreme Chancellor Jamall Mohatu

Note that this ONLY applies to factions and individuals based, or with holdings in, Republic space. If you have any questions, please post them in this thread or PM me or Johnny.

what about unaffliated / inhospitable planets located in the outer rims?

Jade wants to colonise certain worlds on the outer rims

Trading with completely neutral worlds in the Outer Rim is fine.

Ah, looks like the smuggling business will become especially lucrative. Gotta love the times, lol.

Johnny and I are discussing colonization inside Republic Space. However, the Republic absolutely will not endorse, protect, or otherwise support the colonization of any world outside its space, nor will it support the colonization of worlds without its explicit authorization.

So long as you don't accept bounties from the Hutts, you'll be fine.

Absolutely not.

The whole reason the Hutt War is even taking place is because of the Republic's expansionary policies into the Mid Rim, which the Hutts thought was going to lead to expansion into the Outer Rim and Hutt imperial space. There's no way the Republic is going to send forces to those planets unless they were of strategic value.

Well, I dont know about other factions that do bounties, but the BHG is neutral, an has taken no side in the war.

I honestly havent seen any bounties posted by anyone in Hutt space, but if there was would the BHG be exempt from said punishments mentioned above?

Jade Galactic, BHG, etc. - keep in mind that all you have to do to avoid this is to move your holdings (at least your PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE holdings, hint hint) out of Republic space.

I would think that being in hutt space would also effect the embargo and that being in an independent colonized planet might be dangerous (both the republic and hutts could theoretically say SURPRISE INVASION!)

Dont worry it hasnt passed my mind Bac and I might just do it.

The BHG would not be exempt from the aforementioned penalties if it started taking any actions that supported the Hutts in any way.

Ah well, then we're all good. The BHG in no way supports or allifiates with the Hutt Empire, then again, it doesnt affiliate with the Republic either.

We'll just keep doing what we've been doing, bein' neutral.

Just a quick FYI to corporations thinking of leaving to Hutt space to try to bypass this, bear in mind that you won't be affected too badly if you stay in Republic space. The Republic, in terms of number of planets and allies, offers a much richer trading area and far more profits, whereas a smaller number of markets are available in Hutt space. If you leave, you'll be isolating yourself from a very big market.

You'll also be running the risk of being branded a hostile entity and actively targeted by the Republic if you're of a big enough size to make any sort of impact on the war.
