The Battle of Manaan

Following the Battle of Naboo and the capture of Korriban by insurrectionists, the New Sith Imperium is hurting politically. In an effort to save face, Imperial High Command orders a new offensive against an old foe, the Manaan Alliance. They amass a battle fleet near Anaxes in an attempt to conceal their intentions, but they are betrayed at the highest level to the Rebel Coalition. The Rebels, in response, amass their own battle fleet and immediately set off to the aid of the Manaan Alliance which had been so integral to the initial foundation of the Rebellion. The Imperial warships enter the system and quickly advance on the watery world. The Selkath, along with their Quarren and Mon Cal allies, launch their ships from beneath Manaan's oceans while the Rebel armada jumps in nearly on top of the Imperial navy. Within moments, the assured, though costly, Imperial victory becomes a vicious fight for survival with the victors taking the entire Manaan Alliance.

The Battle of Manaan will consist of three battlefield threads, each 1v1. NPCs will not be used in this battle and will focus on the duels between the participants. A time limit has been imposed on the Battle of Manaan, of 18 days. Threads are to aim to finish before that deadline. Posting grace period has temporarily been changed from 72 hours to 48 hours. Please tag the opponent at the end of the post to notify the opponent it is their turn.

The Fight for Ahto City

Imperial forces were keen to seize the City and made it their number one priority during their initial offensive. The defenders gave way almost immediately in the face of such a force after the Imperials seized Ahto City Central Their gains were so rapid, however, that they didn't have time to set up fortified positions to actually hold the city. Naturally, immediately after their capture of the city, the Imperial troops found themselves on the opposite end as the Rebels and Alliance forces launched their counter-attack.

1v1 Rebel vs. Imperial Armed Forces

The Walls of Ahto

One of the major defenses of Ahto City is its massive deployable walls and their massive shield projectors. Imperial agents, prior to the invasion, had managed to infiltrate the city and disable them momentarily when the Imperial assault began. Everything went according to plan, or rather was going according to plan. What the Imperial commanders weren't prepared for was that the agents were actually members of the Coterie. As soon as the Rebel counter-attack began, the walls were sabotaged further and it became impossible to activate the shield generators without repairs. Now the Imperials and Rebels do battle for control of these vital defenses.

1v1 Jedi vs. Sith

The Shipyards

The one place the Selkath, Mon Calamari, and Quarren decided to truly hold the line and the most-important asset to both Imperial and Rebel forces, the underwater shipyards have become a battleground both inside and outside of the complex. Neither side possesses enough of the facility to cause serious harm though that is subject to change.

Do You Party?: I party like it's 1999

Bree isn't exactly a commando, but with his stealth armor, and some clever engineering tricks, he should be fairly hard to find/get to before he does enough damage/good.

Is this a no-death rp like naboo was, or are these duels to the death?

No-death threads like Naboo were exceptions, most battle threads (including Manaan) are death-enabled.

Indeed. It's important to note here as well that he said death-enabled, not death-required. You can win without killing your opponent. Victory is achieved by disabling your opponent in some way, of course killing him/her or forcing them to surrender, or forcing them to quit the battlefield (i.e. running away because you beat them so bad, dawg).

I'm not participating, but just a thought here. Is anyone looking at the composition of who will be battling? For example, a Rebel Imperial Knight signs up for the Fight for Ahto City against an Imperial Urban Trooper that also signed up. Just speaking logically here and not getting too in depth with exigent circumstances, the non-Force sensitive is at a disadvantage up against a trained Force sensitive.

Thoughts?

Its not exactly first-come-first-serve. Faction leaders select even match-ups from the volunteers.

@Dmitri you posted Kardan vs Hiru in The Fight for Ahto City thread, but weren't we supposed to be on The Shipyards? It says the City is Corric vs. Bree'tor.
