Khivas and Rane had made it to the Rebels' forward camp that had been set up near the city's center, the area serving as a formidable base to coordinate strikes and plans to defend the city of Theed from Imperial control. It was impressive what these Rebels had set up here; a medical center that was fully stocked, munitions distribution, vehicles for both transport and assault, and holo-maps set up around the middle of a control and command center, displaying the various troop movements of both the Imperials and the Rebels in as close to real time as they could get.
"Nice, real nice." Khivas said as he looked around the room as a medic worked on his wounds. They didn't have much if any at all of bacta, but they had some Kolto on hand, and it seemed holding a lightsaber that wasn't red warranted special treatment, and as such Khivas found his wounds being healed far faster than it would before. Not perfect, but definitely a welcome improvement and something he was grateful for. "Thanks, Doc." He said when the medic finished their work, the wounds Khivas had sustained mostly vanishing and the surface wounds looking as clean as ever.
Getting up from the table and viewing the holoprojectors displaying the battle raging across the city, Khivas began to think to himself that maybe this battle wasn't exactly lost, that there might be a way to pull this place from the clutches of defeat. He saw the battle on the plains, how that was going, and he saw the battle in another city, where the enemy ships that were flying overhead somehow got taken down and destroyed, something that boded well for the Rebels fighting in that sector of the planet. "Hot damn, guess we're far better off than I previously thought." Khivas said aloud to himself as he watched and read up on the battle reports. It was during these moments that the idea he had at the beginning of the day crossed his mind again about the star-destroyer hanging over Theed, and now that the battle was in a fever pitch, how possible it would be to now take that sucker out of the sky.
Now a sane man would probably tell you how asinine of an idea that is, after all blowing up a large ship like that over a city would just mean aiding in the destruction of the city one was trying to save. But Khivas was the type of man that was both sane and insane, and he had a hair brained scheme now fully fleshed out in his little head that he would see come to fruition, especially now that he had the means and resources to make it happen. Walking up to the officers in charge of the forward camp's operations, Khivas spoke up to them, introducing himself. "Commanders, General, my name is Khivas Carrick, I came in with Jedi Knight Rane and the band of injured Rebels from the Theed Palace Hangar. IF you'd bother giving me the time of day, I might have a plan that may be suited to your interests."
The General and his commanders looked at Adimus like an idiot at first, but the General was a seasoned man, grizzled in his experience and years at war. Thinking that it might be best to give a Jedi, even one that was previously as wounded and new as Khivas an ear and time to speak, the General raised a hand quickly but sternly into the air, and nodded towards Khivas. "Speak Jedi, but make it quick, I've got a war to win."
Nodding in returning, Khivas began to lay out his plan to those present. "I was born and raised on Corellia, and was part of the resistance there. While most of that world was turned to a prison of sorts, a sizable portion of it remained as a budding shipyard, with their chief export being Star-Destroyers. During my time there I learned a good bit about those ships and their inner workings, including the software they employ, and I've gotten pretty decent at hacking into them."
"Get to the point kid." One of the commanders said, to which Khivas took a breathe and turned slowly to the man before continuing. "My point here is that I know how to take that thing out from the inside without having it crash into Theed. I just need some help from you guys."
"What? What the hell could you possibly do from the inside of that thing, and help? What do you think we are-"
"Stop," Said the General, cutting off the Commander, "You know the inside of that ship?"
"Verily so, sir."
"And you need help. What kind of help."
"A strike team sir, and cover fire, from two sources. The first being the strike fighters that just came into Theed, and the second those AA Guns your forces captured earlier, the mobile ones."
"Alright, tell me what you have in mind, son."
About twenty minutes later, Khivas had finished telling them his plan: Take a strike team of a sizable but tactical size, and fly them up on two shuttles to get inside the hangar bay of the enemy ship. To do that without being blown out of the sky, the strike fighters would run one part escort on the shuttles and one part diversion, attacking the ship directly, primarily the hangar defenses and the anti-ship turrets. Meanwhile, the AA guns on the ground would set their sights on the ship that foolishly got too low to the ground and start blasting away at the ship from the underside, again causing a mess of chaos that would force the Imperials to divert their attention to a target deemed more crucial in that small time frame.
Once on board, Khivas would be able to hack the ship's systems temporarily, but it would be more than enough time to close off the pathways and force the enemy out while giving Khivas and his two teams time to get to their destinations, with the first team, and Khivas' team, the ship's command bridge, where they would take control and take over the helm, setting a course for the outskirts of the city to crash land on top of pursuing imperial forces. Additionally, these would be the ones that took control of all the security precautions on the ship and ensured that the teams would have a way out when the time came to retreat.
The second team would head for engineering and hold it down, to make sure the enemy didn't perform any hard resets on the system to prevent those in the Bridge from losing control, especially on the engines themselves. Short and simply, but equally vital, especially that they were the ones that would end up being the failsafe to the plan if those on the Bridge failed, blowing up the engines and at least forcing the ship to retreat using what little it had or face total and utter destruction from the forces below.
The General looked at Khivas with an air of disbelief, but not the usual kind where you look and tell a person that they are completely and entirely insane and should be committed, but rather that it was just crazy enough to work, and that's what was so hard to believe about it. After a few more moments of deliberation, the General came back to Khivas and decided to give him the go ahead with the plan, and that he would have the necessary manpower needed to pull off the mission. "Son, don't mess this up." He said to the young Jedi.
"I won't sir. May the Force be with Us." Khivas said in return.
As sunset began to fall over the city of Theed, Khivas stood at the shuttles on the take-off pads awaiting those who had been assigned to this mission to show up, watching as a platoon of soldiers packed their gear for a heavy and very dangerous assault. "Hope this works..." He thought to himself as the battle for Theed prepared to come to a head.
