High above the trees, rose the communication tower. Used for relaying comm signals off world as well as acting as a booster for short range communication units, the tower was the main target for the Singing Badger. To blind and deafen your enemy in combat was a great advantage.

The tower stood just at the edge of the shield generator’s range, but more isolated from the main temple and therefore the main battle. Flashes of lasers could be seen in the distance and explosions were obvious, but the small team of guards embedded near the vital piece of equipment had yet to taste their first blood.

That time would soon come. Narir watched the video feed as the Mandalorian strike team approached the target. Blood would soon be shed. @Rom vs. @Gian Greydragon

Dalyn Solus let out a slow breath as the VXN carrying him and his verde toward the Tower screamed through the atmosphere, the dull repetitive whump of laser cannon fire and the muttering of the warriors packed like Quarren in a tin filling his ears. He quietly ran a check over his equipment, fingers tapping a steady tattoo over power packs, grenades, and weapons secured to various holsters and straps across his body before lifting the E-33 and cradling it to his chest like an infant. Humming softly, the rumble in his chest grew in volume until it filled the hold, eyes closed and head bowed as the other warriors turned to regard him as the opening words to a battle song of Clan Solus filled the air and comms.

"Blasters flash, beskad swing - shining beskar's piercing ring! Basilisks fly o'er like polished shields; fight those bastards til they yield! Crimson blades and midnight robes, fight to keep them from your homes! Sound the horn and call the cry; how many of them can we make die?!"

Many of the verde Dalyn had served with were familiar with the battle hymn and roared along to the final words, the echoing cry on the comms from the other VXN proving the entire Strike Team was getting into the spirit of the song. Raising his head as the lights in the troop bay flashed signaling they were close to the LZ, the Singing Badger gripped his carbine tightly and continued to sing with other voices rising to join him for the second verse.

"Follow orders as you're told, make their hu'tuun blood run cold! Fight until you die or drop, a force like ours is hard to stop! Close your mind to stress and pain, fight till you're no longer sane! Let not one damn Sith pass by; HOW MANY OF THEM CAN WE MAKE DIE!?!"

The VXN screeched to a halt and Dalyn was already racing down the ramp and out through the trees before it had even touched the ground, carbine raised and mouth twisted into a snarl as twenty three verde came charging behind him out of the pair of dropships. The Comms Tower loomed large out of the trees before them and Dalyn silently repeated the last refrain as he pulled the trigger and sent a blast of red fire screaming into the chest of a Sith trooper caught off guard by the charging horde of Mandalorians.

'How many of them can we make die?!'

Q'san sat crouched behind his Durasteel cover, ready at the gate of the Comms Center, his Repeater readied, and aimed outward at the causeway, leading to the entrance of the Comms Center.

Q'san was entrenched behind a large U-shaped Durasteel barrier that stood 6 feet high, and was reinforced with concrete block.Three divots were cut out of the Durasteel barrier where the repeaters were positioned on bipods, and spanned about in withree feet in width and about three feet high, giving each Gunner a solid 75 degrees of vision in front of them.

He had been given command of the defense of this Outpost, and, in the name of the Empire, he would keep the ears and eyes of it on this planet wide open.

"Here they come," Q'san said, through the company-wide commlinks, prompting all but one foolish soldier to take cover, being gunned down by the first Mandalorian to exit their ship.

The courtyard erupted in blasterfire as the VXN came into view, Q'san also opened fire, filling one with light bolts as he descended. As he fell to the earth, he trained his sights on the shooter that killed one of his Gunners, as he touched down (@Dalyn Solus), whom he perceived to be the leader of this assault.

The Mandalorians scattered like leaves on the wind, diving behind trees and boulders as the causeway lit up with weapon emplacement fire. Dalyn cursed darkly as he pivoted and threw himself behind one of the thick trees for cover. The Imperials were dug in well, the repeaters able to chew through anyone trying to come up the causeway; had the Mandalorians landed in the space between the tower and the forest they'd have been massacred without cover but as it was, the Mandalorians made use of the natural cover to move closer to the causeway, darting from tree to boulder to tree and firing at the wall shielding the gunners.

Dalyn himself moved laterally, keeping the trees between him and the causeway before veering east along the tree line, keeping the comms tower to his left and darting low between rock and tree to prevent any keen eyed sniper from spotting and shooting him as he moved to hit the entrenched Imperials from their right flank. Taking a moment to peek around the tree and make sure he was collinear to the rear of the causeway, he slung his carbine across his chest, primed a concussion grenade for an impact detonation and then activated his jetpack.

Shooting straight up along the trunk, Dalyn burst through the 10m canopy of the treeline and immediately flew forward at top speed toward the Comms tower side of the causeway and turned to toss the grenade down into the arms of the U barricade shielding the gunners from the forward assault. Priming a frag grenade, he tossed that in after the concussion grenade and unslung his carbine while circling in midair behind the Imperial fortifications, rifle at the ready.

If the gunners, including a man wearing the armor of an officer, were caught in the explosions they would be severely disoriented by the concussion and then wounded from the fragmentation grenades. The wall that kept them safe from the attackers also enveloped them like fish in a barrel, and the only place to retreat was straight into Dalyn's line of fire.

While the other two gunners were suppressing the Mandalorians, forcing them behind cover, Q'san tracked the movements of the Mandalorian he'd trained on moments before, taking time to reposition himself as the Mandalorian moved up the right flank of the causeway, through the trees and boulders, following him as he moved cover-to-cover, refraining from firing, as he knew the dense cover would make any shot taken toward him a hail Mary at best. Repositioning himself on the right side of the U shaped barricade, he kept his eyes trained on the direction of the Mandalorian, snapping to, as the familiar glow of a jetpack illuminated the area behind the tree.

The Imperial officer stood and fired a six-bolt burst at the Mandalorian, as he emerged above the canopy, from a crouched position behind a large crate not far off from the barricade he once occupied, putting some plasma between the Mandalorian and the barricade, preventing him, at least for now, from bombarding them with grenades.

"Keep suppressing, I'll deal with flyboy on the right!" he shouted to his men, and jumped up onto the walkway of the gate behind them, using his jump boots, putting him level with the Mandalorian, at ten meters.

Rising out of the treeline to the sound of a repeater firing and an Imperial officer out of the barricade, Dalyn cursed and twisted his body to continue his upward flight at an 80 degree angle toward the Comms Tower in a corkscrewing manuever that brought him higher to dodge the crimson stream of bolts zipping through the air.

The Officer had moved from the barricade, abandoning cover to try and meet his height at the treeline via the wall, though Dalyn's evasion had brought him higher still, though closer. With 8m in height and 4m separating them, Dalyn reached with his free hand for the pistol on his belt whilst lobbing the grenade down toward the wall at the Officers feet, then using a combat mode burst to push him toward the comms tower to take cover behind a signal dish to avoid any return fire.

Q'san landed safely on the bridge, but immediately jumped forward over the bannister, to a ramp leading up the back of the bridge, to avoid the effects of the concussion grenade, as it was thrown where he once stood, and detonating on impact.

While his ears still rang, the concussion grenade did not fully disorient him. As he stood, he saw the Mandalorian make a B-Line for the satellite dish, but could not get a sight on him in time to return fire. He would have to wait for his jump boots to recharge for another jump before trying much else. He'd follow the ramp downward to floor level, and take cover behind a man-sized crate, placing some semblance of cover between himself and the Mandalorian who now hid behind the satellite dish roughly 20 meters away from Q'san's new position.

The sound of the explosion and the strangled cry alerted Dalyn to the success of his grenade and the Mandalorian immediately killed the power to his jetpack and allowed gravity to take hold. The sensation of free-fall gripped him for half a second as he dropped before the jetpack ignited and pushed him forward toward the walkway and his dazed opponent. Hitting the walkway at a run he closed the 3 meters between him and the Imperial while ripping the hammer from his belt with his right hand and triggering the generator in its head.

Leading with his shoulder, Dalyn brought the hammer up diagonally across his body in a powerful swing aimed to slam the head into Qsan's chest; on contact the generators within would release a devastating blast of concussive force through the armor and into the Imperials body and pushing him back along the walkway with the force of the blow. Still turning clockwise with the momentum of the swing, Dalyn then brought the pistol in his left hand up and fired twice as he raised it, once at the upper unarmored portion of his left leg and then a second time toward his midsection.

Q'san hit the ground, dazed and blinded by the grenade, but determined, he stood to his feet, and used his jump boots to leap ten meters to his right, where he knew the base of the building was, though, in that moment, he was blind and deaf. Narrowly avoiding melee with the Mandalorian, he could do nothing about the bolts now soaring toward him, the first two, aimed low, and thus missed him as he bounded to his left, but the third bolt found purchase in his backplate.

Stumbling from the hit, he rolled to a stop at the door, that hissed open as the automated function of the door engaged upon recognizing Q'san. Blindly, he stumbled into the door, and felt about for cover, as the door hissed closed behind him.
