STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Chalos is contemplative and knowledgeable about many things. His contemplative and pacifistic nature leads him to meditate when he should act. He avoids confrontation, even when it is necessary.

Oversized brown robes to cover his form

PERSONALITY:
To say Chalos is a kind soul might be putting it mildly. He seeks to understand everything around him and from an early age has empathized with even the most horrid predators. He prefers studying and meditating to taking action and as a result has not advanced in his Jedi training. In times past he might have made a great historian or librarian. If anyone were to ask, he might tell them that is exactly what he wanted to do from the moment he set foot in the great library on Coruscant so many years ago.

Physically, he appears to be stoic and betrays little emotion. This is largely a side effect of his physiology and the limited facial movements possible in his species. In actuality, he feels emotions very strongly. He has an affinity for feeling the emotions of those around him through the Force and by observation. He regards this ability to understand and feel others’ emotions to be beneficial, heedless of any risks it might pose for him.

His desire to understand things completely often leads to inaction. He prefers to study any problem thoroughly and meditate before acting. This has caused issues in his training as Jedi are expected to make decisions quickly. While most Jedi are content to let the Force guide them, he wishes to understand how and why it guides him before giving in to it.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born on Krevas, Chalos spent his earliest life in the coastal dwellings of his parents. At the age of 4 he encountered a Squeeloo, a squidlike predator, youngling in the shallows and endeavored to study it and help it back to open water. Unbeknownst to him, the youngling’s mother was not far away and lashed out with its tentacles. If not for the intervention of his parents, Chalos would likely have been swallowed by the creature he ought to have known to stay away from.

Not long after the Squeeloo Incident, a Kel-Dor Jedi Master came to Krevas and discovered the latent force sensitivity in Chalos. His parents agreed to give him up to the Order and Chalos went along after he was promised the chance to learn about the galaxy. Upon entering the temple at Coruscant he was taken aback by the vastness of the archives. The size and scale couldn’t even be grasped by him at the time. He immediately fell in love with the endless rows of datacards, the quiet reading areas, the feel of old flimsiplast. The Kel-Dor who had brought him to the temple encouraged his desire to study and learn, but also made sure to instruct him in the ways of the Force and the Lightsaber.

Chalos never really took to the lightsaber. His Kel-Dor Master tried to instruct him in the balanced aggressive and defensive form of Niman, but after each lesson Chalos grew more and more opposed to the idea. Eventually his master relented and instructed him in the ways of Soresu. Despite the challenges of lightsaber combat which pulled him away from his true studies, these were happy times.

When the Sith revealed themselves and attacked Coruscant, Chalos was supportive of the plan for the Jedi to leave (not that anyone particularly listened to his opinion). He saw it as a necessary step to retreat and save the Order in order to better understand this new threat. While other padawans were eager to fight their new enemy, Chalos maneuvered himself to be among the first students to leave. Unfortunately, his master would not be so lucky; he died during the assault on Coruscant.

Since that time Chalos has lived at the hidden temple on Anoth. He studied with the Masters there, learning the ways of the Force and training his mind. At the age of 13, a Nikto Jedi Knight returned to the hidden temple to select an apprentice. Chalos believed he was ready to become an apprentice and learn with a true Knight and explore the galaxy. The Nikto selected a more martial pupil. Chalos accepted the decision with no small amount of disappointment. Time and again Chalos was passed over by Knights and Masters seeking apprentices. This disheartened him greatly. For solace he turned to the admittedly diminished archives of the hidden temple. For 4 years he accepted the idea that no Knight or Master would ever select him as an apprentice and was content to study the archives. So long as the masters of the temple continue to allow him to study, he might've been content there forever.

His world was changed during lunch one day at the temple when he casually joined Knight Della Frey for lunch. For whatever reason, Della saw something in Chalos and offered to take him on as a padawan and, equally important, adopt him into her family. He remains unsure of himself and has much to learn, but has since begun venturing into the wider galaxy.

I think you mean another form. Ataru is quite an aggressive style. Not as much as others but there are a couple which suit balance in offense and defense more than Ataru. Otherwise interesting character.

You're right, I think Niman would be a better fit there. I'll definitely make that change.
