Character creation help.

Hello. I'm Seaburn. I had made a thread in the role-playing help section, and I was just wondering if anybody would be interested in helping me make my character. I have an idea for a sort of air traffic controlling forward observer, if that makes sense or even applies to the universe. Any help would be appreciated, as I'm not the most knowledgeable person about the universe here on the site yet.

You don't really want to restrict yourself to one planet (at least on your only character), which is what this characters' daily life sounds like it is - air traffic controller on planet x. This will limit the threads you can join.
Also being a non-combatant or "normal citzen" may also restrict your interactions, but not so much as the prior point.

If you still want to go forward, I would suggest quoting this first post, don't reply, but copy the "character template" towards the bottom and edit as you wish in a notepad file. Makes it all prettyful, gives you lots of options for expansion/innovation and helps you learn a little html, too.

To answer your question, though. I imagine there would be that kind of person supervising droids, who would likely do the bulk of multitasking and "dumb labour" on more refined worlds, however places that need a controller and is a bit more cheap (Tatooine, for example?) i could see using warm bodies.

Well there's no real role for an air traffic controller in the way PvP is done on the site really. With the exception of big fleet engagements (which are much rarer these days) it's mostly a few people against a few people with maybe a handful of additional NPC's on either side. Not that you couldn't do it, but you might have a hard time finding RP's to participate in where the character's occupation is relevant.

I think the best bet might be to make more of a scout character, but that might just be me.
