“I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness; I love only that which it defends.”
--Chester Ducere

Name: Chester Ducere
Faction and Rank: Jedi Knight
Age: 25
Race: Human
Homeworld: Kluistar
Gender: Male
Height: 6'2"
Eyes: Green
Hair: Blond
Dominant Hand: Ambidextrous
Lightsaber Form: Form IV: Ataru
Force-sensitivity and Powers:
• Force Sight
• Telekinesis
• Telepathy
• Precognition
• Force Speed
• Force Jump
• Breath Control
• Psychometry

Appearance and Build:
Chester’s dark blond hair is a memento from his late father, one of the dashing similarities between the two. Often combed and neat, the hair is kept as clean and proper as possible when Chester isn’t doing gritty work and long missions. Although he is from a backwater world, his hair’s sheen and aristocratic hairstyle could cause some to mistake him for planetary nobility.

His dark green eyes were received from his mother’s side, and stand out against his lightly tinted skin pigmentation. It lacks the healthy, tanned appearance befitting laborers and adventures, although he has done much of both.

Personality, Likes, and Dislikes:
Even though he is a Jedi Knight of the Order, his modesty is questionable. Not concerned about the supposed humility of the Jedi, he wears bright, flamboyant clothing, made from the most expensive dramassian silk he could purchase. Adorned with gold and bronzium jewelry, his appearance is far from that of the standard Jedi, allowing him to mask his identity as a Jedi when in a crowd, but stand out when he is with other Jedi.

Chester’s demeanor is harshly blunt and could be considered rude. He has no problem expressing his mind, even when it is not necessary. Therefore, his thoughts have been known to get him in trouble or cause people to become angry at him. His snide comments, in particular, have earned him the ire of others. In addition to his brash attitude, he is well-known for sarcastic and satirical remarks, which have often saved him from his otherwise condemning tongue.

Chester’s line of thinking is rather naïve, and he rarely bothers to put a great deal of effort into subtle details like stratagems or back-up plans. His actions revolve around his general laziness and slight phobia of work. Though he would still rather boss others around than actually take the effort to do it himself, he has no problem with getting the job done himself should the situation demand it.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Chester’s intelligence is questionable; he tries not think to hard about anything and simplifies everything in his head. For this reason, he lacks the ability to perform even basic mathematics in his head. At the same time, though, he has been known to come up with brilliant suggestions and noteworthy ideas, causing some to presume that he is smarter than he appears. He is somewhat of a gifted speaker, able to give blunt and fiery speeches to urge others onward.

Chester is quite adept at using a slugpistol and slugthrower because of his past as a hunter for his family. After a significant amount of Jedi training, he has also become accustomed to close-range combat, particularly with a lightsaber, although he lacks the build to participate in hand-to-hand combat.

His lack of physical strength is reflected in his lightsaber combat. His unique lightsaber is based off of the rapier-like blades used by the natives of Kluistar, which happen to be quite light in shape and nimble when used properly. This allows him to make quick, effortless attacks against foes while exerting as little strength as possible. He is an Ataru practitioner, and his ability to use the Force heightens his natural swiftness while performing acrobatics and leaps that normal sentients would find impossible.

His skill in the Force is much stronger than his skill with a lightsaber, especially his telekinetic abilities. It is not uncommon for him to forgo his lightsaber completely in combat and solely depend upon the Force. Even as a Jedi Knight, his skills continue to improve.

History:
Chester Ducere was native to Kluistar, born to a family of hunters and explorers. Chester was raised with his older brother, Sykian, until Chester was about five years of age. By that time, Skyian was already sixteen, and attempted to enlist in the Republic military. When he left the house, Chester was forced to do much of the housework for his family, and he quickly became irritated and bored with the work that was expected of him. Spending much of his time inside attending to the chores and necessities of a household, he rarely went outside, resulting in his skin’s rather pale coloring. When he was nine, he was forced to hunt for food for his family due to a famine in the area and their isolated location. Taught how to use a slugthrower by his father, he became quite proficient with the weapon after several years of use.

Eventually, his family received news from a Republic officer who had fought alongside Sykian. He informed them that Sykian had perished in combat against the Alsakan Union. Though his parents wept at the news, Chester was unsure how to feel. Did he feel rage and hate against the Alsakans who killed his brother? Was he depressed and mired in sorrow at the loss of his wise, caring, older brother? He fled into the forest outside his parents’ estate, hoping to find answers within himself. As he was alone in the forest, a wild hound attacked him. It gave him a ghastly scar on his back and nearly mauled his left arm off, even though he attempted to fight back. Only the timely arrival of the Republic soldier and his father saved young Chester from a dark fate.

After recovering from his wounds, he informed his parents that he desired to travel off of Kluistar, if at least to avenge his brother’s untimely death. After much consideration, his parents agreed, and Chester packed his things, bid goodbye to his parents, and left Kluistar with the Republic officer.

Eventually, Chester arrived on Ossus, where he was dropped off at his request. Leaving the Republic cruiser behind, the Force guided him to Ossus, where he arrived in the Jedi Order. Though rather old to begin basic training, he was taken in for Padawan training under the Vizza Mander, a Zabrak Jedi Knight. As their training commenced, Chester’s semi-natural skill in the Force increased, and he slowly began to find a deeper connection with the Force. Building a rather unique lightsaber, Chester built the weapon based on ancient short sword designs used by the natives of Kluistar for hunting and duels. Shortly before he completed his Jedi training, Chester was transferred under the tutelage of Javiik Valivin; Valivin was the Jedi who completed his Jedi training.

Now a Jedi Knight, Chester ventured into the galaxy to fulfill his ultimate goal - avenging the death of his brother.

oh come on, you can be nice can't ya? I mean, he came all the way over from SWF just to RP with us man. I mean, it can't be that easy to battle our registration system when it decides it doesn't want to work ;)

on a more serious and far less sarcastic note, I like the profile. It's simple and to the point, but it's well balanced and well thought out. Good job :P

Thankies, Markus. And it wasn't that difficult climbing over Mt. MarySue and reaching this fine place, except for the mentioned registration system =P

And I'm use to Baccie's abuse and sarcasm, otherwise I wouldn't survive over at SWF. The pic was actually funny. :CHappy:

And thanks Niner and Lavi. I appreciate your opinions. :)

Nah. I knew they were truths, I simply had no better way to word it. "Unpopular posts" probably would've been better. I'll pass on any hostility. Teh n00b surrenders! :CHappy:
