When she bowed, Lane unclipped the lightsaber and ignited the golden blade. He moved it up to his face. "Today, we are gathered to comemorate a distinguished individual; Saeryl Avardur. She has proven herself more than capable of growing stronger in the force, and proving to future padawans and current officers that no task is too difficult." He said. He lowered the saber to her right shoulder so that it rested inches above it.

"Saeryl, I knight you as an outstanding padawan of the Luminado mercenaries," he said, raising the blade over her head carefully and brought it to rest over her left shoulder. "You are an example to many that nothing is too difficult for anyone as long as they put forth effort." He then withdrew the blade. "All rise to congradulate our newest member to the Luminado," he said. Music began to play and the crowd that had gathered stood, clapping for Saeryl.

Saeryl closed her eyes as she was knighted, and then it was done. She looked up at Lane, then stood and turned for a few moments to beam at and wave to the crowd. She turned back towards Lane then, looking to her right at the man standing there, then to the left to the two girls holding her new uniform. She looked back to Lane and leaned in to whisper.

"So now I just change into that up here and I'm promoted?"

She winked as she leaned back to stand normally, her arms fidgeting slightly because she wasn't really sure where to put them.

Lane chuckled. "I'll have someone escort the uniform to your room after the ceremony," he said with a wink. "For now, enjoy the celebration. The next room over will have food and things for you and everyone else. I'll come in a little while. The senator of this planet wishes to speak with me," he said, notioning to a small door to his right. It led into another large dining room where food was prepared on a large center table with other tables around it for the guests.

"Don't be afraid to start without me. It's your celebration, and the attention is on you," he said. He would wait for her and everyone else to leave before he went to meet with the pudgent, disgusting flop of a man that called himself a senator. He did grow weary of the man, and would've liked to see him out of office, but that would have to wait. For now, it was the price he had to pay as the republic didn't allow mercenaries in their territory, even if they were similar to Jedi. Lane found it selfish of them, which is why he supported the freedom the Hutts had. Who knew, perhaps some new great empire would rise that would create peace in the galaxy, but he knew peace was a lie.

Saeryl grinned at Lane, then nodded and turned to follow the general procession into the next room. She would accept the congratulations from everyone who came to speak to her, and always smile and shake their hand, or give a hug - whichever was offered to her, she returned. She also found her way over to the food and got some, and found it to be delicious. She couldn't help but wonder what was so urgent that the senator needed to talk about, but she figured if it was something that was important for her to know, Lane would tell her later.

"What do you mean there's someone out there to 'get' you?" Lane asked. In truth, he knew exactly what was going on, but had to play it off. The senator, with all his greed, was going to come to an end soon, and a succession would be in order. Lane wasn't going to do a damned thing to stop it, unless the man coming to replace him made an attempt at the Luminado, but he had already forseen what would happen. Lane had nothing to fear.

"I mean there's some ****ing people I see following me everywhere!" The senator swore with spit drooling from his lips.

"I really don't have time for this, senator. I have a ceremony to attend for one of my padawans," Lane said as he turned to walk back to the ceremony.

"You mean the schutta you brag so much about?" He said. Lane stopped dead in his tracks. He wasn't one to place attatchments on many people ever since Naomii, but Saeryl was just as close to him as she was. He would give his life for hers. He turned and glared at the senator. "C'mon, Lane, it was a-" he was cut off as Lane gripped him in a force choke and lifted him off the ground.

"You'll soon learn to watch your tongue, senator," Lane growled as he let the flop of a man drop to the ground. The fat sludge gasped for breathe and held tightly to his collar. Lane left him there and returned to the ceremony and stood by the door. He watched as some of the younger padawan boys went and found girls to dance with, and as the officers talked amongst themselves. Lane couldn't shake off the rage from earlier though. It was getting to be harder and harder to control.

Saeryl faltered slightly mod-step, but recovered well enough. She cast a glance over her shoulder towards Lane at the door. Was it her imagination, or had she just sensed a large amount of anger coming from him? She wasn't sure what it was. She smiled and raised a hand to wave, then looked towards the group which had been walking with her, and now was forming a circle with her. She said a few quick thank yous, then turned to look towards the door again. There were a mountain of people between here and there though, and each would probably want to talk to her. This was the annoying part of celebrations, the endless congratulations.

Lane acknowledged the wave with a smile, and chuckled at her frustration with the crowd. It was funny how many people wanted to thank her and shake her hand, as if she were a goddess, but he figured it was because of all the things he had said about her. The celebration was a good one, and the people attending it were respectable. Lane felt his anger diminish quickly and turn back into a content feeling.

Saeryl eventually made her war over to Lane, and when she got there he seemed as calm as could be to her. She must have imagined the anger, then. She grinned mischeaviously at him, then nodded over towards the dance floor and raised a hand towards him.

"You wouldn't turn a girl down on her celebration day, would you?"

Lane smiled. "That would be rude of me," he said, taking her hand delicately. He walked to the center of the dance floor with her, where the rest of the couples left open for her.

"Are you enjoying this?" Lane asked as the began to circle around, moving accordingly to the music. It was a slower dance, but they weren't simply spinning in a circle like most would in a dance. He rather enjoyed it. It made him wish somewhat that the Jedi did such things, but they regarded emotions as a distraction and a way to fall. But to Lane, it was emotions that made people live instead of exist.

Saeryl grinned as Lane took her hand and led out onto the dance floor. Her other hand came up to his shoulder in the traditional slow dance manner. She looked around for a moment after his question, then back to his face as they slowly spun.

"Well, to be honest I'd rather just have everyone say their congratulations all at once - saying thank you a hundred times gets a bit repetetive."

She paused to wink at him.

"Or did you mean enjoying this dance? I must say you've surprised me, I didn't think you could, but you're quite good. Or at least not stepping on my feet. But in all seriousness, it's a very nice celebration. Thank you."

"You're wel-" Lane began to say, also wanting to comment on how well she was dancing, but was interupted by an officer who barged in, attracting much attention. It was something important, and Lane could tell it would throw off a great many things, but there was possible hope.

"Grand General, sir! We've just heard comfirming reports that the Senator was assassinated!" He said. Lane had said he wouldn't care, but in reality, it was more complicated with his death. However, Lane had an idea.

"I'll speak with you after the celebration. Right now, I want to see the ceremony to the end," he said. The officer nodded and rushed out. Lane turned and looked back at Saeryl. "I apologize for that," he said with a stressed sigh as he looked over in the distance. "You dance well, Saeryl. And I'm glad you're have a good time. I hoped nothing would ruin this for you." He said apologetically. "After the celebration, before I attend the meeting about the Senator, we're going to visit the crystal cave and you can choose a special crystal from it, alright?"

Saeryl stared at the oficer's back as he retreated out the way he had come, and then finally looked back at Lane. She blinked twice, looking dumbfounded by what had just happened. She knew Lane had just met with the Senator, and now he was dead. Not only that, but he didn't seem to care at all about it. She remembered that flash of anger she had thought she felt earlier. Had Lane killed the Senator?

No, that wasn't something he would do. It was more likely that Lane disliked or even hated the Senator and so the news of his passing simply wasn't a big deal.
She decided that must be it and her smile quickly returned, her head bowing slightly as she looked at his shoulder.

"Don't worry, it isn't ruined. Are you sure you can postpone the meeting that long? I mean, I understand if you have to do that, and we can go to the crystal cave later."

"The Senator was as disgustingly stupid as he was greedy. Even so, his death poses many great problems and oppertunities. But I don't want to worry about that right now. This After all of this and the crystal cave, then I'll have the meeting," he assured. He didn't want to worry about that sort of thing at the moment.

Many hours had passed since the moment of the Senator's assassination, and the celebration had come to a conclusion. Lane helped out a little with picking things up as he waited on Saeryl to arrive again. Once she did, they were going to go to the crystal cave. Lane had a feeling he knew what she was going to choose, but wanted to see it for himself.

Saeryl had taken her time in freshening up and had even changed into her new uniform. She picked up her lightsaber, looking at it for a few moments before hooking it to her belt. It had been with her for a long time, and it would be strange to carry around a different one. She had an idea of how to use this one howver, though it might take her some time to implement.

She arrived back at the party room to meet Lane, and she did her best to hurry - she didn't want to keep Lane from his meeting all night, though he didn't seem to mind it so much. Meetings about dead diplomats must be boring, she figured. She was surprised to see Lane helping to clean up, but only smiled and waved to him from across the roo to get his attention, signalling she was ready to go.

Lane smiled and set the broom down which he was cleaning with. He left a small pile that could be easily picked up. For now, it was time to go. Lane walked up to her, admiring how well she made her uniform look. "Let's go," he said with a half-smile, leading her out of the base and back to the cave. For some reason, it seemed to resonate even more than usual with the force. It was like a cool breeze on a hot day, Lane felt refreshed.

He led her through the cave and past the room with the large crystal in it, and headed to a darker part of the cave. There was just enough light to see, but little else. He kept it this way to keep this certain part of the cave hidden from anyone who would've wanted to use them for other reasons. He felt on the wall and knocked in two places. One place sounded hollow and echoed on the other side. He stood back and made a swiping motion with his hand. Then, the wall moved back and slid up into the cieling, revealing a much brighter set of tunnels with crystals everywhere on the walls, shinning with every color imaginable.

"Welcome to the crystal cavern," he said. "I only take select few here, and allow them to choose a crystal that reaches out to them through the force. The crystal you choose, will also choose you. You will feel the connection through the force. I'm sure anyone else who has taught you never put this in that way, did they?" Lane said with a wink. He stood by and allowed her to walk through to look at all the crystals.

Saeryl smiled as they made their way to the crystal cave, and was surprised when Lane led to an area she hadn't even noticed. It was rather dark, until he did something and a door opened. She gasped and walked slowly in to the tunnels in front of her. She came to a stop at about the center and slowly spun around, taking in the glowing cavern.

She took a deep breath in, then closed her eyes and opened herself to the Force. As before it permeated her essence in this place, more powerful then anything else she had felt. She slowly opened her eyes, maintaining that connection and looking around at the various crystals. She felt a nagging desire to walk to the wall to her right, and then was doing so.

Her hand reached slowly out towards a small red glowing crystal, but stopped a few inches short of it. She paused there, concentrating, then instead shifted her hand to the right and picked up a clear white crystal. She slowly drew it back, holding the Opila in the palm of her hand as she looked at it. She spoke softly, without looking at Lane.

"This one."

(Your next post will finish the training. Sorry it took longer than I originally planned. I got carried away. Ur fun to rp with. lol. But u get to finish the training thread proudly. Congradulations and welcome to the Luminado. :D)

"The color of silver, or plain white as most people would call it. This color represents purity, which means the user that chooses it is pure of heart. I'm not surprised that was the one," Lane said with a smile. He knew what she did in her past, but he also knew it was out of blind rage. It was an emotion that filled most of the body like love. Her actions didn't determine the status of her heart.

"This is my last request; construct a lightsaber with it, but also with this," he said as he pulled out another crystal. It wouldn't alter the color in any way, but would instead boost its power to equal the lightsaber he used in his ceremony. "It's the same crystal I have in my golden saber. The crystal amplifies its power twofold, and deepens its users' connection with the force. I've only found two of these in the whole galaxy; the one in my own lightsaber and this one here. Think of it as a graduation gift," he said with a smirk and a wink.

Saeryl reverently took the second crystal from Lane, looking down at it and studying it for a few long moments. Then she smiled and looked back up at Lane. Her hand closed around the crystals, sealing them in a fist before she moved quickly forward to hug Lane tightly. She let it last for a few seconds before letting go and stepping back again, slightly embarassed by how girlie that was.

"Thank you, Lane. I'll do the Luminado proud."

She looked to her new crystals again, thinking of how she would use them and of how she would use her old ones as well. She had plans for the future, at least as far as lightsabers went, and in looking down at her uniform knew she had a life plan as well. it was a good start, but she vowed to continue training as much as she could, to always be growing stronger. She would show the Luminado, and the galaxy through them, what she was capable of.
