I'm new to this and am a little confused. I don't know what to post where. help???

Okay, first things first. If this is your first RP forum (then again even if it isn't) you should give a quick glance to the three stickies in this board. That includes the "Guide to Roleplaying", the "Roleplaying Rules" and "Brandon Rhea's Guide to Roleplaying".

If I were you I would then begin creating your character. For your first character I would certainly recommend using one of the character templates found in this thread, and it's worth noting that the first template is easier to use at first. Also when creating your character, and writing their history make sure you check out the Useable Species List and the Useable Planets List so you don't get a tirade of members telling you what you have to change immediately. Also make sure you read The Story: The Alsakan Crisis thread and the Timeline of Galactic History. I would also suggest giving Grim's Guide to Not Making Crappy Characters a read, as it can be very helpful.

Once you've got your character, if you do not want to sign them up to a faction, you can begin roleplaying straight away. Just remember these things and you should be fine. If you do want to join a faction, it's worth having a look at each, and reading all the stickies in the main faction thread's (The Order of the Jedi, The Galactic Republic and The Alsakan Union). There are also a few independent factions which you can look up in The Independent Factions Board.

I didn't really want to flood the forum with any more topics so I'll just dive into this one, if I may.

So, here I am, having a nice little Jedi-kid and I read somewhere that I must have him trained first to write around.
But also there are no available masters to take him as a padawan.
Help?
Now what.
Should I wait patiently or just roll another character until a Master Jedi is free?

If I were you, I would make another character (like a bounty hunter, mercenary, whatever) until a Master or Knight is free.

You may want to PM some people and ask if they are actually training anyone also, just to make sure.

I am indeed "training" someone with a very strange "follower" that attempted to "kill" me.

And when I began training Hanshin I thought he was about 16 or 17, so I got a bit of a shock when I saw his age was twenty.. something :p.
