Trask did delayed the enemy in time for the majority of the squad to leave. That's what I'm saying, it would be better to sacrifice one guy and save the rest to continue the mission.

To add to my point, what if some jedi didn't believe in the order any more and just wanted to be a foot soldier? I would make a character if that would happen.

As for a force-wielding foot soldier, weren't the Ysanna of Ossus descendants of powerful Jedi who survived some apocalyptic wave that annihilated the rest of life on the planet, eventually forgetting their Jedi ways and becoming more like tribesmen able to use the force to change the trajectory of their bullets fired from their slug guns? Not sure if that's allowed here or what not... but they're not on the list of disallowed races.

You've played too many video games, son. There's such a thing as low-recoil automatic weapons. You have to factor in the weapon's design and specs, what kind of round it shoots, what it's rate of fire is, so on and so forth. There's upgrades that can be installed to reduce perceived recoil, and weapon designs that negate recoil altogether, such as the Kriss Super V.

One real life weapon that would be terrifyingly effective against Sith and Jedi would be the P90 PDW. High rate of fire, compact, accurate, powerful, 50 round magazine, and low recoil all combine to maximize hit probability.

Another would be the AA12 automatic shotgun, the very design of which significantly reduces perceived recoil. Imagine throwing 30 rounds of 12 gauge buckshot down range at a rate of fire of 250 or so rounds per minute. Now that's firepower.

Factor in projectile velocity, and slugthrowers basically equal 'GAME OVER' for unprepared force users.

3. In order to lay down FPF (final protective fire) or suppressive fire (continuous long bursts) you need to stay in one spot so you don't injure yourself or your squad

My point is, blasts will be shooting all over the place and nowhere near the oncoming sith/jedi, leaving him to run straight down the middle and towards his target.

Not really true. It's a good idea to stay put to lay down covering fire, yes, but it is possible to advance while putting down fire. Your accuracy will suffer while you do so, but if your squadmates have any idea what they're doing they'll stay out of your lane of fire while they advance... And you, likewise, should still be checking targets as you engage them, otherwise you really need to get out of infantry and over to motor pool, where you're less likely to friendly **** your team.

Aaanywho, no, a properly trained and equipped fireteam will have no trouble laying down a wall of fire impenetrable to a Jedi or Sith. But impenetrable walls are by no means impassable. [Hint: Flanking's a bitch.]

*edit* Yes, I'm putting video games into a lesser category of canon than Comics with this statement.

Also, I would rather not have the thread devolve into a flame fest argument over technology. Roleplay shouldn't be decided by the numbers anyways, I think we can all agree on that. There are different approaches to all situations, and their effectiveness is determined by the quality of the post, and not the quality of the gun/sword.
