Dalekkelion

NAMEDalekkelion
(simply refereed to as the "Dalek" by most of the galaxy)
BIOLOGYThe Dalekkelion are a synthetic civilization of robotic platforms utilizing programs of artificial intelligences, not unlike the droid "races/species" of the Silentium or Abomidor. In consequence, the Dalekkelion do not possess a biological construct, and are instead wholly synthetic. Therefore, more accurate it would be to replace the term of biology with design.

Their exoskeletal carapace is an alloy comprised of osmium and carbonite, with an enveloping crystalline layer, causing them to shine brilliantly in significant light. The Dalekkelion endoskeleton are a series of densely compact nano-fibermesh which acts as a sort of muscle tissue. However, these do not provide the Dalekkelion with comparative maneuverability, as they are notably physically underwhelming, particularly for droids. Instead, their density acts as a protection for them to bear under various environments and hazards.

Like many droids, the Dalekkelion are technically bipedal and possess two upper-torso appendages, outwardly similar to arms. Although they sometimes serve such a purpose, the Dalekkelion almost never utilize their physical limbs or appendages. As they possess repulsors on various parts of their chassis, allowing full maneuverability, Dalekkelion seldom use their legs unless for particularly precise articulation.

Although lacking a nervous system, even a synthetic replication as many droids do, the Dalekkelion do possess a series of internal tubes and channels, not unlike synthetic veins, that carry a synthetic electromagnetically-conductive fluids. These tubes and channels travel to all extremities of the Dalekkelion's chassis, and act as a synthetic version of a nervous system, circulatory system, and respiratory system.

In addition to their "physical makeup", the Dalekkelion possess a natural droidification module, allowing them to shapeshift into electronic equipments so long as it was within the boundaries of their relative mass. All Dalekkelion shift their forms from their standard chassis to an "aerial mode" as common means of transportation. Added to this, as their arms are utterly ineffective in the traditional methods of use, Dalekkelion are naturally able to fully manipulate graviton fields through the fitting of density projectors, repulsors and tensors. Because they are able to use these technologies in unison, it in many ways mkese it appear as if the Dalekkelion possess an artificial form of telekinesis.

All Dalekkelion are virtually identically to each other, with the exception of the Collective, and very few non-Dalekkelion can tell one-another apart. The Dalekkelion are roughly three point three meters tall, and weight some two hundred and fifty four kilograms.
SUBSPECIESAlthough not a subspecies by the technical term, the Dalekkelion do possess a series of droid platforms that take the equivalence of a leadership role among them, known simply as the Collective. Unlike the Dalekkelion, the Collective possess Humanoid shape, although with the obvious synthetic appearance. While the Dalekkelion generally do not leave the watch of the Collective, members of the Collective have been known to interact with different species in the galaxy.
SAPIENCEAffirmation
STRENGTHSAlthough neither violent nor militarily competent, the Dalekkelion are supremely intelligent, capably of supersapient deduction, analytical perception, and exolinear thinking and reasoning procession. In addition, because of the Collective, all Dalekkelion share experiences, discoveries, and information equally via their neural nexus - only very little information is reserved for the Collective to dispense on an "individual" basis. As such, and as can be expected of a droid civilization, the Dalekkelion see universally beneficial technological progression as their primary aim, resulting in their society being quite advanced.
WEAKNESSESFor reasons not fully known nor understood, only an exceedingly few Dalekkelion are even privileged to comprehend the very concept of violence - even to the degree of defending their own existence. It is not understood why this is, only that Dalekkelion do not defend or preserve their existence in the face of danger. Even under the circumstances that a Dalekkelion is confronted by violence, usually in the rare event that a Dalekkelion is off their central world, the once the experience reaches the Collective, the "memory" is purged, almost akin to an instantaneous memory wipe. Some believe this was a result of baseline programming hardwired into the Dalekkelion by whomever first created them. Other believe this is a result of the Dalekkelion neural nexus, as in the event a Dalekkelion is destroyed, its "mind" still exists as patterned energy within the hive mind, and could simply be transferred into a new chassis in the event of destruction. Still others believe, erroneously, that the Dalekkelion have no individual sense of identity, as they all share sensory information with one another equally, and thus have no individual thoughts nor desires.
DIETAs they are synthetic creations, the Dalekkelion do not consume preexisting matter for sustenance. The closest analogy for a "diet" to them would be in the instances that a Dalekkelion would integrate directly with the neural nexus, typically as a form of recharging their internal power cells.
BEHAVIOR AND TEMPERAMENTAs droid platforms, the Dalekkelion are fundamentally dispassionate in their speech, seemingly stoic, and overall apathetic. In the times they do speak physically, the Dalekkelion often address the nature of their statements before relaying the message, similar to the HK series of droids. In the eyes of many, the Dalekkelion are particularly emotionally indifferent. However, this is due to many species not being able to understand the way the Dalekkelion express their emotional functions. As creations of logic and calculations, many of the Dalekkelion's expressions are concise, logical and with few additional expressive connotations. However, this only occurs when Dalekkelion are amongst those they are unfamiliar with. Indeed, around or within familiar settings, Dalekkelion have been observed utilizing sarcasm, dry wit, even expressions of surprise, wonder, anger and bewilderment.

However, Dalekkelion are nonetheless in full control of their temperaments, and only express what they are willing by programming grants. As such, a Dalekkelion will not relay a particular expression or trait unless it is willing to do so in the given setting. In addition, the Dalekkelion are incredibly inquisitive, despite their somewhat isolationist way of life. Many Dalekkelion instruments are scattered around the galaxy and act as observational probes, transmitting information to the Collective about foreign cultures, who then distribute the information to the Dalekkelion.
COMMUNICATIONBecause all Dalekkelion are tied into the neural nexus, all Dalekkelion communicate to one another electronically and at the speed of light. Among themselves, the Dalekkelion produce no verbally-based, or synthetically or electronically-based for that matter, language, and simply relay sensory data and information amongst themselves so that their exact expressive feelings, views, considerations, and so on, can be fully relayed in the most effective and efficient way possible.

However, the Dalekkelion do possess the capacity for verbal speech, which often sounds gargled or electronically-whirred. As they are essentially information platforms, and given their fascination of cultures, the Dalekkelion can utilize almost every known language in the galaxy - well past and into the millions - whether they be verbal or bodily.
PLANETThe true origin world of the Dalekkelion is unknown, although speculation abounds. However, their current adopted world, dubbed the "central world" by them, is Viis.
CULTUREAlthough possessing their own desires and pursuits, both as a civilization and on the individual basis, the Dalekkelion have no unique cultural customs, habits or traditions.
TECHNOLOGYAs a droid civilization whose society is geared toward bettering themselves through technological prowess, technology is the cornerstone of the Dalekkelion's proverbial way of life. Dalekkelion technology is among the most advanced in the galaxy, although their isolationist values prevent it from being shared on any level.

Rumors abound as to the awes of Dalekkelion technology, including the claim that the Dalek possess the ancient technology of the Gree Hypergates. However, these are unconfirmed reports and the rumors surrounding the Dalekkelion are regularly exaggerated and convoluted.
HISTORYThe origins of the Dalekkelion (or simply Dalek) is one shrouded in mystery, and accounts suggest even the vast majority of the Dalekkelion are unaware of it. According to xenoarcheologists however, the most prevalent theory in speculation is that the Dalekkelion are a rogue creation of the Iskalloni, as their technological designs, primal pursuits, isolationist tendencies, overpowering thirst for knowledge of other species and cultures and collective hive mind echo that of the ruthless cybernetic species.

In addition, Iskalloni devices resonate with the Dalekkelion, further supporting speculation that the droid civilization once originated with the Iskalloni. Although much of their beginnings exist as conjecture, observation and estimation, what is known is that the first sightings of the Dalek was five point five years before the Battle of Yavin IV during the ancient Galactic Civil War, when a rogue Dalek platform took part in the Droid Revolution led by the famed protocol droid C-3PO against Boonda the Hutt. While it is not known how a Dalekkelion came into the possession of the Hutt, it is known that the Dalekkelion were already deeply rooted as a synthetic society by then.

By means unknown, and like the Iskalloni, the Dalekkelion someone evaded the notice of the Yuuzhan Vong during the extragalactic invasion, and by all accounts, were uninvolved in any galactic events on record to date. When the Dalekkelion settled Viis is unknown, although it is suggested to have simply been a matter of logic to them, especially if they were indeed Iskalloni creations; moving beyond the Unknown Region's hyperwave disturbances would have been illogical as it provided a natural protection to them.

Nevertheless, some Dalekkelion have made occasional contact with the greater galaxy, usually members of the Collective who represent their civilization. Their "natural" progression as a society marks them as one of the few droid civilizations, as least non-destructive, in opposition to the Silentium or Abomidors, to greet the galaxy, and are often the subject of historical wonder and investigation. However, as they are positioned in an extraordinarily dangerous region of space, prefer isolation and non-contact with other species, and their location is suggested to be fairly close to Iskadrell, exceedingly few ever pursue their interest of them.

INTENTJust expanding on a canon "species" for fun. I'm good with that.

Oddly enough, I was considering making a synthetic species as well.

Yeah, it'd been in my mind. Since the canon Dalek were almost completely void of information and the one non-canon pic of them was a shameless copycat from Doctor Who, I'd decided to individualize them.

The Cylons?

If anything these "Daleks" are far more akin to the Geth, in both demeanor and design.

Yes, very much so.
And I approve. ^_^
As do I. ^_^

Was actually the first thing I thought of while reading this thing. I just hoped people wouldn't start shooting at them right of the bat, and then I saw Jiang's comment. xD

Haven't we been down this road people? Leave the nice Geth type people alone.

Exactly! And if it does, just enslave them or outright exterminate them! :CHappy

Should be fine!

I'd been trying to figure out how to work a 'more than meets the eye' pun.
