Back on topic for but a moment...

What the christ**** is a darksaber?

I believe it is what Hanshin calls a black lightsaber, were such a thing possible. Apparently you had one once.

The color black used in products and such is a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, dark gray. You cannot see true black.

Not true. The colour black, be it in clothes or anything else, is simply a non-reflective pigment. No coloured light is being reflected, because that particular pigment absorbs all of it, leaving you with no reflected light.

Thus; black.

Oh, right... And this may be true, but in my defence... uh... quiet you!

It's a color, does it really matter that much unless it's somehow uber powerful? It's just a color, let people have it if they want too, as there is a black crystal you can use in TFU and we already bend some canon, not like allowing black sabers will open a worm hole and the crew from Star Trek will arrive.

Thats my Oppinion anyways.

Eh, point for Mulluns. I mean hell, he's right. If Matt let me have a color changing crystal for Eamic's saber, like a mood ring type deal, than a black one should be allowed. Because like he said, as long as its just a color, it'd be fine.

Well, with Hanshin it would probably explode anything it touches.

I never heard of such a saber...

Color crystals should be no more then just what they are: Representing the color of your blade. I can understand if the crystal is unstable and gives a more eruption look on the blade, but it would most likely just be cosmetic. But other then that, just the color I would say.

What apollo said made me think of the "you" crystal from KOTOR II. Those made your lightsaber so much stronger. Im kinda glad we dont allow those.

It's kinda useless to add crystals to make your saber stronger, especialy since about a great deal of things will get cut in half with one stroke from the saber, making it useless to add a crystal that adds electrical damage to it.

That wasn't intentional, I was just poking fun at Hanshin.

ah it's just a colour, but it's physically impossible for black to emit light or heat. And if we say this is okay, then eventually people will be able to say "well you're bending the laws of physics there, so why not here" ot they might be able to apply our warped change to something that could make their char uber powerful, and then we wouldn't have a leg to stand on. That's my view tbh.

Have you seen a black saber? It's basically a white saber with a black core. Why would anyone want to get into the details of the law of physics and that mess in a Star Wars RP? Well, maybe a few here would...

But I respect your oppinion all the same.

I've seen the one in TFU. And there is also no mention that that particular saber is in canon. Thepprentice had a red one for the first half of the game, and a blue on for the second half, regardless of alignment or anything else.

Yeah in the actual cannon story he had his red Apprentice Saber which he ends up losing and gets the blue one. He only has two sabers and follows the good alignment.

Thats just silly that a black thing can't get hot. Have you ever touched the hood of a black car when it's 90 degrees out? It absorbs heat, so it would actually be hotter than most other colors if left out in the sun...and you know, if it were something that wasn't a lightsaber, like a black car for instance.

Uh black Light and Black color are actually polar opposites

Black color is a mixture of all the colors together and it absorbs all light energy
Black light is the absence of all light. And light is usually followed with heat energy.

Black can't emit light. Nobody said black things can't get hot, black objects absorb more heat than any other colour, as they reflect no radiation away.

Why has this gone any further than a black lightsaber is a complete contradiction and totally unfeasible?
