Raindrops fell, the same as the day before. Showering like a piece of music, following the conductor's beat; mother nature. A Grey fog settled along the cement sidewalk, down into the cracks. Whirling around Delvon's feet, chilling his toes. He stepped out of a limousine. It had been parked just outside of the Godeweyn's estate after coming back from a second party for Evelyn's 24th birthday. Gripping his left hand tightly, a handle of a umbrella quickly reminded Delvon he was holding something. His right hand came down to the handle at the same time his left came up to open it. It popped open, building a shield to the droplets. They bounced off the sides, causing a tapping noise, adding onto the the soothing sounds of the outdoors. Delvon held the umbrella over the top of the limousine's door way where Evelyn would exist, ignoring himself. His dark brown hair and tailored black mens suit already soaking, sending heat from his body out in clear steam around him. The long standing lights in the courtyard casting a stream of light over him, causing him to glow in his loss.

Delvon's crystal blue eyes flashed around the area to scan for any threats. Two bulky looking men walked outside from the giant conjoined doorways of the mansion, pistols strapped to their sides, marching together towards the limousine. Their size twice that of Delvon - more body guards, but not like Delvon; he was more friend, or family, depending on ones point of view. Delvon liked to think of himself as simply a employee but knew he was far from that. Things could never be so simple, not in this life style, or any. At lest he liked to believe this, knowing nothing of poverty or the life styles of the less fortunate besides the small glimpses he had of the people who worked for him - worked for 'Evelyn' that is.

The black pot of mixing shades in the sky roared, then a bolt of thunder broke out. Sending a demon claw like shape across the sky. It caused Delvon's pupils to widen and his lips to pull down into a frown. Stressing him from the sudden lash, but it was not unexpected, so he stood still, waiting for Evelyn to join his side.

Evelyn yawned, tired from the night of partying, the soothing sound of the rain wasn't helping much either. Alice looked outside the door where Delvon was opening the umbrella, ignoring how he himself was getting wet. She sighed at the sight, he was so devoted. She quickly shoo, herself out of her trance, scolding herself at appearing like a teenager. She regained her composure, she then slowly got out of the car. She wore an elegant dress as befitting of her stature. She watched as the body guards moved closer, turning her nose up slightly to show her disdain for them.

Evelyn was small, so as she stepped out Delvon adjusted the umbrella to her height. There was also a pistol tightly pressed to his hip, his hand came to the top of it as they started to walk along the sidewalk. Delvon always kept close too Elvelyn to make sure she wouldn't get into too much trouble, even at parties with more youthful members. His age was not far from hers, but seven years was enough to grow a part between even the best of friends. He didn't drink, even off the job, if there was such thing as 'off the job' for him. Now it wasn't hard for him to be reduced to a tired old man after a full day, but he didn't have to go any further tonight as he lived in the mansion with Evelyn.

A growling sound came from his twisting stomach being empty. His body was constantly ignored for his work, sometimes not eating or sleeping. No matter how much he rejected it, he would look as if nothing was wrong. A true soldier type, although it could interfere with parts of his job; lacking the nutrition his body needed for quicker reactions. The force, his connection to, seemed to make up for the times he lacked that, however.

"Will you be off to bed right away?" Small talk, but important too know regardless.

Evelyn watched as Delvon adjusted the umbrella height to her smaller stature. She sighed inwardly as they started to walk along the sidewalk. They were so close... yet so far. She glanced at Delvon as his stomache growled, she had attempted to get him to eat something during the party but he had refused... as usual. He asked if she was going to bed, she thought for a moment before nodding, "Yes, it has been a tiring night." she said with a small smile, remembering the party.

Delvon's attention switched to the stairwell up to the door ways after Evelyn's answer. The two body guards stood just a few feet ahead of them, nodding to Delvon in accordance as he passed them with Evelyn. It wasn't long till they made their way inside, the warm air only causing Delvon to notice how cold he really was in his wet clothing. His loose curls in his hair stuck on his face, as if glued there. Shaking off the silence that fell on the two when they entered the room he collapsed the umbrella, the gush of water and drops on the ground echoed through the large interior. He placed it in a holder before pealing off his upper jacket and hanging it up. No doubt the maids would come across it at some point and dry it off, then scold him later. Under his jacket his white dress shirt was damp on the edges, but not fully wet. It had been protected by the thick upper layer.

He didn't talk right after he took off his coat, but a minute later well he slipped off his shoes, "Tomorrow we have a big transaction to deal with, apparently a group is willing to pay big for our transportation services. What a interesting group to pay so much for..." he trailed off into his own thoughts.

She removed her coat as well, hanging it up on a whim. She glanced at Delvon as he spoke, noticing that he was absolutely soaked. Evelyn nodded, attempting to look interested but failing to do so. She quickly changed the subject, "Oh, did you see the dress that Vivian was wearing? It was absolutely horrid." she said with a sniff, smiling at the memory. She looked at Delvon, wondering if he was listening or not... probably not, but she would continue to try.

In response, Delvon tilted his head to one side, scanning his eyes over Evelyn, as if questioning her with them. He thought over a few words; weighing if it was worth the effort to chastise her. His lips parted before shutting again without speaking. He took another moment before reacting, "Maybe you drank too much." It was all he ended up saying to address her comment.

"I'll speak to the guards for updates before I check on you one more time tonight." Delvon's gaze shifted back to his front, before he turned his body to face Evelyn. He moved close enough to her so that he could reach out, placing his hand on her shoulder to rest a small amount of his arms weight there; just softly. "Call me if you need anything in the mean time." His foot almost glided back along the wet floor, his hand slipping off her shoulder as he stepped back. The room fell silent for a moment well he waited for her answer.

(ok, got it... yeah, we should probably skip after this post.)

Evelyn felt her spirit fall slightly but she kept up the facade, making sure that he couldn't tell. He then turned away before placing his hand on her shoulder and speaking. She smiled, glad that he didn't think too badly of her. "I will." she said quietly.

(and sorry for the short post.)
