[Eisa Swan]

“ Star Six, Star Eleven" A shimering image of a helmeted figure spoke out over the holocom console in each of the two pilot's cockpits. "I'll keep this brief" The figure continued before her gaze moved away off camera to view the read outs within her cockpit, the swirling storm of hyperspace visible behind her.

"We're about to drop out of hyperspace and commence the assault on the pirate forces that have blockaded Banistar Station." The figure resumed as her attention moved off to the side, her fingers toggling several control switches, as the prepared her own weapon systems. "we're going to keep thier forces busy up here in orbit, whilst they are distracted, your mission is to destroy the ground based turbo laser batteries and the shield generator" Eisa continued, before pursing narrowing her gaze as a droid chirped away in the background. Shaking off her droid's threat assessment, Eisa returned her attention back to the surface strike team.

"strike them hard and strike them fast, you have the element of surprise down there, take advantage of it.” The figure continued as she leaned back into her flight seat and adjusted the restraining harnesses in preparation for the sudden lurching drop out of hyperspace. "we're counting on you"

A warm smile flashed over her features, before they were suddenly obscured by the flight helmet's visor being dropped down. “May the Force be with us” Eisa added as her ship dropped out of hyperspace, and the sounds of laser cannon fire rang out momentarily before the transmission was cut off.

The abruptness of the transmission's ending had Kyi worried for Eisa's and everyone else's safety - from what he could see after coming out of hyperspace, the orbital battle sounded intense, May the Force be with you all he thought to himself. Kyi broke away from the other Squadron members before aiming his flight stick forward, making his descent into Triffis' atmosphere. Kyi was accompanied on this mission by another fellow Jedi, Jedi Knight Ashlyna Talmount, Star Six - he felt slightly at ease that a more experienced Jedi and pilot was with him on this mission. The Padawan was in his head as this mission's outcome depended on whether the two could take out Drax's defences or not.

Kyi activated his comlink and spoke into it, "You're the more experienced one, Star Six. What's the plan?" he asked, hoping she had some kind of way to go at this. Kyi began fidgeting with his ship's controls, making absolute sure his weapon systems were online and ready to, his anxiety echoed through the Force that he was sure his partner would be able to sense it from inside her cockpit. We can do this, we can do this he said to himself over and over again, as he grasped his flight stick tight as he began to feel his hands shaking but he wasn't sure if it was anxiety or adrenaline.

Either way, he was about to participate in one of the most important battles in his life.

[Ashlyna Talmount]

To say she was excited was an understatement. Ash had wanted a ship of her own for the longest time, and not just any ship, no she wanted an actual ship; not those damn shuttles she had been forced into using. The FS-97 wasn't her appeal, but beggars couldn't be choosers, she'd get this thing to work even if it killed her; though she hoped it wouldn't come to that. Star Six broke away with Star Eleven, knowing there was a padawan under her wing, Ash thought this would be a fantastic learning opportunity for them both; Ayasha's wisdom had still clung to her, despite the woman's absence in her life. They could take out the defenses, though it was going to be tricky. With a calm flick of her finger, Ash's shields came to life, making a barrier around the small craft.

The cockpit was buzzing with excitement, as Ash closed her eyes and let the force take the stick for her, drinking in the info from the cockpit as she felt right at home. Kyi's voice come through her helmet comm, as she cracked a smile and responded to the boy. The battle was raging not that far away from their location, yet Ash felt as calm as a river knowing that things would work out in the end. "Well Star Eleven, I'm glad you asked." Ashlyna said, hoping her calm demeanor would lessen the anxiety of her wing man. "This is what we'll do. I'll go in first, distract the turrets, then you follow up behind and take them out." She could tell he was nervous, and she didn't blame him. She was scared out of her pants on her first mission as well. Space combat though, was another thing entirely, a life as a pirate had made it a normality for her; especially being on the repair staff in the middle of a battle. "Do you feel comfortable with this Star Eleven? Or do you want me to call you Kyi?" She wanted him to feel comfortable, it would make the chance of success much higher.

Ashlyna relayed the plan to Kyi, it made sense and was the most doable. Hearing this relaxed him slightly, having a solid plan, he noticed she seemed relaxed - did she really feel like this? He thought, if so, he wished he could feel the same way. "Copy that." he said in his response to the superior Jedi. Ashlyna continued, she asked if he felt comfortable with the plan or maybe...she asked if he comfortable with her calling him Kyi, he was too deep in thought to actually distinguish the two. He shook his head, returning his focus to the mission at hand and replied to her question "Uh yeah, yeah. Call me whatever you want. Sorry." he hoped what he said didn't sound dismissive, he really didn't mind what she called him - he wasn't one for formalities anyway.

He readied himself for the upcoming battle, the two fighter pilots were getting closer to Drax's ground based turbo laser batteries and shield generators. The Padawan clicked several buttons on the console in front of him, readying his weapon systems. He could see the turbo lasers up ahead, these damn turbo lasers stood between him and taking out the shield generators, the Padawan was determined to get this done and get his fellow squadmates out of the line of fire. Kyi adjusted his comm before speaking into it, addressing the Jedi Knight, "I'll follow your lead." he said.

[Ashlyna Talmount]

Ash smirked at the padawan's response. She understood his plight all too well. "Roger Star Eleven, fall in line behind me, throttle back on your speed and keep an eye on those gauges. If for some reason you don't have deflector shields up, I'd ask you do that now." Ash spoke as if she was giving a run down on basic flight safety, as her fingers worked to divert power to the frontal shield. They were coming up on the target now, as Ash opened her eyes since the start of the mission, feeling the excitement burn through her like an after burner. She could feel the targets closing, they were about to be in deep bantha crap, and she was loving every moment of it; though Tycho would have a heart attack if he knew what she was doing right now.

Pulling ahead, Ash would position herself to be to the right of the Padawan, as she put herself into a brief spin, nothing fancy, just to get the blood flowing, before putting her speed indicator to the just below it's maximum velocity. Ash shot forward, pulling ahead of her wingman, as soon the worlds deadliest light parade would make Ash it's newest host. "Come on Star Eleven, the party is just getting started." He probably thought she was crazy, but in defense, she kinda was.

Taking place before Kyi's ascension to Knight, I'll still refer to him as Padawan

Kyi complied with his superior Jedi, decreasing the pressure on his acceleration and falling back a little. She suggested he activate his deflector shields - the Padawan was so stressed that he had actually forgotten to turn them on, "Sorry...must've forgot. Good looking out, Six." he said in a thankful tone of voice. He'd need to get his act together if they were to succeed.

He noticed the Jedi Knight fly next to his right and then swiftly fly past him, his eyes widened with shock, another risk taker?! She was just like him although his impulsive tendencies had calmed down over the past few months but it was strange to see another Jedi, a Knight at that act like he did...maybe it wasn't such a bad thing then? The freckle-faced Padawan grinned at her craziness before increasing the speed of his own starfighter and flying slightly behind her "Go easy, Six. Can't let you have all the fun." he said playfully, his mood had been lifted for some strange reason.

The turbo laser batteries began firing immediately at Ashlyna, lighting up the sky. Kyi was mesmerised by her skill in the cockpit, evading the blaster fire with finesse, while the laser cannon batteries were focused on the Jedi Knight, the Padawan closed his eyes, opening himself up to the Force, allowing it to guide his movements. He elected to not use his missiles yet, saving them for emergencies only, instead firing a barrage of light laser cannons into the first laser cannon turret. Kyi managed to critically damage it but now the other batteries turned their aim to both Kyi and Ashlyna now.

[Ashlyna Talmount]

Ash couldn't but grin at the younger man's lack of experience. It was normal, everyone was rusty during their first time, especially her. "Never forget your shields Eleven, that'll save your hide when it gets rough. Trust me." Ash would know, between the two of them, she had the life experience to know. He'd be okay though, she'd see him through this one way or another. They might even become friends once this was all done and over.

She could sense the boys surprise as she pulled ahead of him, chuckling to herself as the young man expressed astonishment at her disregard for her own safety. "Oh? And why not? If you're not going to enjoy yourself, then all the more fun for me!" She shot back, going into a brief roll, just enough to give her body a shot of adrenaline. There was a danger, yes, but caution and adventure went hand in hand in her experience. Which was only confirmed when they started to be fired at. Ash fired off a salvo to draw the attention, twirling her craft to the left, before sweeping down and to the right as she avoided another set of blasts. They were going to have a hell of a time hitting the jedi knight, as she seemed to crisscross between the shots, firing back one or two shots when the towers aligned with her ships' blasters. Her padawan wingman took the opening she had gifted him, as the young man let the enemy have it, blowing away the defensive structures with his light cannon fire.

By now, Ash was literally upside down as she flew with her head facing the ground. He wasn't doing too bad himself. Ash was still flying with the force, as she sensed what the padwan had done. "Good shot Star Eleven!" She announced over the comms, before her ship was tagged by one of the towers, knocking the knight for a loop, as she struggle to take control of her ship, shields flashing from the blow. "Whoops!" The padawan would hear Ash's surprised yelp sound through the comms, as she would now start taking the mission a tad more seriousness now, as she righted her fighter for the next round of pleasantries. That shot could have killed her, she'd need to be careful moving forward.

"Whoa, you alright?!" he asked with genuine concern, "Be careful!" he added. Kyi rotated his flight stick and circled back around, squaring off with the laser batteries, getting a better position of one of them. He accelerated his starfighter, engaging the turbo laser battery that he had chosen as his target, the assault mechanism unloaded it's laser fire at the Jedi pilot but he allowed the Force to guide his hand as he evaded its attacks by doing a 360 spin - spinning was a good trick after all, all the while reigning down a barrage of fire on one of the turbolaser towers.

He had managed to do significant damage to it but he hadn't completely destroyed it yet, he called out to his wingman...woman? He didn't know the correct term, "Star Six, how you holding up? I've done some damage to one of the turbolasers - the one with smoke and static coming out of it" he jested over the comm before tapping some buttons on his console, flying toward the next turbolaser, "Wanna do the honours and finish it off?" he offered in a playful tone, he figured this was the best course of action since all the attention was focused on him now and she needed to recover from her recent hit.

[Ashlyna Talmount]

Ash was a tad annoyed at her folly, but it wasn't that bad. Hell, she had done far worse. Her shields had taken most of the damage, but that didn't exactly mean she was unscathed. "I'm fine, just got me off guard, little bastards." Oh yea, she was not happy about that. Kyi seem to finally be relaxing though, most of the jitters he carried were starting to vanish. She watched the padawan evade the shots leveled towards him, grinning as he pulled it off with style on top of that.


She used the time to double check her systems, other than her shields being knocked out, everything else was fine. "I'm fine Star Twelve, just dealing with a bruised ego, over." She readjusted her position, seeing the target that Kyi had left for her. It was right in her sights too, what a sweet boy. "Roger Star Twelve, I'll take that offer." Lining up on the target, the wounded turret shifted to get a bead on Ash, but she was having none of it. She strayed back and forth dancing through the turret fire, as she knew the gunners were in a panic. They couldn't hit her, both parties knew that. Feeling she was in a good position to fire, Ash squeezed off the firing trigger, nailing the torrent and sending it up in flames, as she streaked on past it. First defense was down, but there were plenty more challenges up ahead. "Star Tweleve, I'm reading there are two more turrets coming online. Not out of the ballpark yet." Sure enough, Ash realized that just before the shield generator, two defense turrets had been built around the generator into a defensive structure. Pulling up hard, the knight narrowly evaded having herself shot full of holes. Least they had their target, Ash just needed to thread the needle here.

The Padawan was getting better with his flying, he managed to successfully take out another turbolaser battery without a scratch before receiving a transmission from Ash about the next two turrets guarding the shield generator, "Copy that, Star Six" he said in response to Ash's statement, pulling up his readings for confirmation on the fact that there were two more turrets guarding the shield generator. Kyi circled back around one more to fly side by side with his fellow Squadron member before speaking into his comm "We should split up. It'll be quicker and easier." the Padawan said before shifting his flight stick to the right and breaking away from Ash. "I've got the one on the right."

Kyi flew his way to the turbolaser on the right, it had registered him instantaneously and rotated towards him and began firing. Kyi met the turbolaser's fire with his own, sending a barrage of laser cannons at it while simultaneously avoiding its fire. However, he noticed that his shots were barely effecting the turbolaser's casing, it must have been reinforced with a different material to the earlier ones - it made sense, these particular ones were designed to protect the shield generator. Kyi zoomed past the turbolaser before circling back around once more ready to make another attack, this time though, he'd use his missiles.

Kyi activated his missile launcher with a click of a button on his console and made his way toward the turbolaser once again, trying to get close enough for the missile to lock-on to it. The console of the Padawan's starfighter started rapidly beeping once he was close enough to lock on and without hesitation he sent two of his missiles directly toward the turbolaser, destroying it immediately but it managed to clip one of Kyi's wings before he was able to evade it in time

"Blast!" he yelled in reaction to being hit by one of the turbolaser's lasers. He quickly adjusted his flying and began speaking into his comm, "How's it going, Six?"

[Ashlyna Talmount]

Spinning was a good trick, least that's what the manuals always said. Ash never had this sort of luck, as she indeed try spinning, and it didn't work at all. Well maybe a little, but she scratched the paint job on her ride. "Star Eleven, you must have read my mind. Keep your ass out of the fire if you can." Ash tried to warn the young padawan, but he was probably going to be okay, he had to be right? Going up higher and higher, Ash put herself into a spin, as she pulled back on the stick and went into a dive, her speed gauge blinking as she was increasing to a dangerous level of g's. The fire from the left turret danced behind her, as she was narrowly edging out the gunners, before pulling up and zipping towards the left turret.

Smirking, Ash rolled to her left, the back to the right, as she dodged two bursts from the turret, her targeting computer starting to find a lock with it's missile system. Ash was staring right into the face of death, as the turret was turning around to lock onto her, both the gunners and the pilot had each other dead to rights. But Ash had them first. She clicked off the fire control, her fighter twirled away from the turret, as it discharged it's shots towards her; leaving a nice scorch mark across the bottom of the ship. It was well worth seeing the explosion out the corner of her however, as Ash streaked off into the sunset, before pulling back around. Her heart was pounding like crazy, as this was exactly the sort of thing she was looking for. She caught sight of Kyi's kill as well, though given the young man's reaction, he sounded a little shaken. "I got my man, looks like you're in the clear. Punch that missile in Eleven, it's time we get while the gettings good." It seemed this mission was going to turn out alright after all, as Ash kept to support, circling around in case any enemy fighters decided to show themselves.

Kyi was ready to get this mission over with, ready to get his allies out of danger, he was happy to hear that Ash has taken out the turbolaser battery on her end which he acknowledged with a simple thumbs up and grin through his cockpit which he hoped Ash could see. Kyi prepared his last missile before pulling an Immelmann turn manoeuvre and flying back around to lock onto the defenceless shield generator.

"Alright, Six. Locking on now, let's get our boys out of the line of fire." he said, determined to get this shot just right. Kyi's console made a loud beeping noise to signify the lock-on, clicked the button with his thumb to launch the missile. As the missile made its way to the shield generator, Kyi flew slightly closer toward the shield generator and unloaded a multitude of laser cannons at the shield generator as well, as a way to weaken its defensive plating in case there were any. After feeling like he had done enough to weaken the shield generator's defenses, Kyi performed a barrel roll to his right to evade the incoming explosion.

The missile had hit its target, completely demolishing the shield generator and sending debris flying everywhere. Kyi cheered over his comm loudly, pumping his right fist hard into the air while steering his starfighter with his right hand. "YES!" he yelled excitedly through his comm, another success, it felt great. He addressed Ash, speaking through his comm "You wanna call it in and tell the boss the good news, Star Six?" he said with a relieved grin on his face, still on the victory high of a successful mission.

Ash still had her eyes closed, but with the force she caught the man's little gesture. He pulled in a tight turn maneuver, looking to get a good shot off on the target, while Ash did overwatch duties. Kyi had all he needed to make the shot, and she was certain he could do it. Ash grinned as the young padawan struck true, sending up the generator up in smoke with his well timed shot. She felt a small thump of excitement in her chest, as she witnessed the young man roll out of the explosion. "Good shot Star Eleven!" She called over the comms, knowing that their job was done.

She snickered to herself as the man asked her to call it out to the guys upstairs, as she circled around to regroup with her partner. "You got it Eleven, keep your head on a swivel kid, we aren't out of the woods yet." Ash gave a few cautious words, as she switched frequencies to the planetary assault force. "Home One, this is Star Six, the generator is down. I repeat the generator is down. Moving to regroup, leave some for us!" Ash called out, before switching back over to their local frequency. "They got the message Eleven, lets get the hell out of here. Drinks are on me." Not too bad for his mission. Not too bad at all.
